First time here in over a year. They have redecorated. I think I like the old decor better. It felt more rustic and homey before. But that is minor. We sat in the bar area thinking it would be faster. Then we witnessed the bartender chatting with some customers while customers (i.e. us) are waiting. To her credit, she was very friendly when she got to us. Giving the benefit of the doubt, she may have just been chatting to improve "customer relations" (and get a nicer tip). Also, I noted that she was the greeter/seater for the main dining room. That reflects poorly on Dave's, making her work double-duty instead of staffing at appropriate levels. Maybe they had to cut staff to pay for the redecoration? Anyway, they also had a new menu. They rearranged it, and added a few things, raised some prices. I got the "new" French dip sandwich. It used Dave's brisket. As with my previous reviews, they still don't have a strong smoky flavor. But the meat was juicy and properly cooked. The au jus was a bit weak in the flavor department. It really tasted more like a Philly steak sandwich than a French dip. My wife had the rib tips, and shared some with me. The ribs were flavorful, but the meat was a bit tough. Once the order was taken, the food came out relatively quickly. Took a bit to get the check because she had to disappear to seat people in the dining room. I can't blame her for that...the manager undoubtedly assigned her to that duty. Not a stellar performance. Not bad, but not great. There is better BBQ out there. I ordered our Thanksgiving meal from this location. I ordered a family meal that served 8-10 people. The food was very good! We ordered sliced turkey breast, ribs, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy! The turkey breast was very moist and flavorful! The ribs were delicious and falling off the bone. The macaroni and cheese was made with corn and jalapeños. I was expecting regular macaroni and cheese. Surprisingly, it was very tasty and not too spicy. The green beans were crisp with a fresh taste and not overly cooked. The cornbread was excellent as always! read more

Honestly some of the worst barbecue I've had. I had the burnt ends, chopped pork, and the jalapeño cheddar sausage. The sides I had was the Mac and cheese, fries, and the banana pudding. I want to start of by saying that the service great BUT, as a black male it never feels good getting sat at the very back corner of a mostly empty restaurant. Now I'm not saying it was a racial thing but it could easily be perceived as such. Our server Cameren was great and very helpful. But the food . . . not so much. The burnt ends were tough and tasted like the sauce they cooked it in burned at the bottom and overall and a burnt taste to them. The chopped pork didn't taste good or bad. It had almost zero flavor. The weird part was it was tender but dry. Don't know how that happened but it was. The jalapeño cheddar sausage wasn't bad but just was lacking any depth of flavor. Now the sides were I think were probably the least appealing. The Mac and cheese had almost the texture of what I think liquid styrofoam would feel like. Noodles were so overcooked that it was almost one with the cheese sauce. Had zero flavor and all in all pretty off putting. The fries had nothing wrong with them. Just your standard frozen fries. Could use some salt but not bad. Not the banana pudding. Man I honestly can even explain how bad it was. Was slimy and didn't taste right at all. I actually had trouble finishing the first bite. Overall bad experience with the food. The service was good but it's hard to appreciate it when you're laughing at how bad the food is the whole time. The environment wasn't bad. We asked about the lunch roasted and smoked chicken, asking what pieces come with the order? Didn't know had to go check, mind you she shared she had been there over a year. One of my favorite bbq places. We came here for our Fathers Day celebration! The presentation is excellent, and the chicken and actually impresses. The shrimp almost doesn't look like much, but the batter is crispy and well seasoned. Was also pleasantly surprised by the boneless chicken wings; we honestly ate them so fast we forgot to include them here! The sausage is notably better than some of their competitors you can call to mind. Their sides have healthy options as you can see. Terrible experience! We ordered take out on Thursday to be ready today (Sunday) at 5:00pm. My card was charged at 4:30 and when I arrived at 5pm, it was chaos inside. One employee was yelling "we are doing the best we can ma'am" when all I was asking was where should I wait. It is now 6:30 and I am still waiting and have no food and no one telling me what is happening. I even stepped outside to call the number and try to ask someone for help and the line just rings. There is a table of bagged food that hasn't been touched in the hour that I've been waiting here. Not exactly sure what is happening here, not sure the employees do either! If they hadn't charged me $147 dollars and have 10 people waiting at my house I would have left by now!! As long time customers, we were very disappointed in the poor customer service we received with our on-line order. We ordered through the Famous Dave's web site, yet when we received someone else's order, the manager told us we needed to reorder via their website to receive our original order. The Door Dash delivery guy told us it was the employee from Famous Dave's that gave him the wrong order and that he gave the employee our name three times, but the employee gave the wrong order to Door Dash. The manger from Famous Dave's was not willing to fix their mistake, instead putting it on us to pick up the food or re-order through their web site - wrong answer. We do not recommend you order delivery from Famous Dave's - if they mess it up, it's on you to fix. Bad, bad customer service - never again! read more

OMG I waited 40 min for my food to get it and noticed that once I already arrived home that, they didn't give me any sauce for my fish. Frustrated as heck!! It's like having cereal with no milk, can't eat fish without sauce! I didn't call because I was irritated and the manager didn't appear friendly. They have all of their sauces on the table where you're able to grab but, it didn't dawn on me to request tarter sauce. Their prices are ridiculous but sometimes I will splurge on myself and grab a meal to go! 2 teeny pc of corn on the cob $2.99...3 meal combo almost$30.00 but you don't really get your moneys worth... CRAZY!!! The rib tips were tons of fat and hard slim pcs... I'm not a happy customer ADHD probably won't eat here again for a year or more! Best BBQ place in town. I found this place 3 months ago driving by the mall, and have been coming here once every 2 weeks since. My friends and i order the " feast for 2" and omg the portion of this platter. We've never been able to finish the food. Ribs and briskets are perfect and not dry at all. They are always busy, but we've never waited more than 5-10 min. All the servers are professional and have a smile even though they each have 10 tables and probably exhausted. Amazing drinks as well. Came to visit a friend here in Arizona and he wanted to come to Famous Dave's. As soon as we arrived we where greeted and seated. Our waiter (Evan) was fast and getting our drink orders and asked us if we were ready to order. It took us about 10 minutes to order because I was not sure what to order but we went ahead and ordered the Davsample platter and a big Caesar salad. The sampler platter was very filling and there were so many things you could try. The ribs were phenomenal because you can taste the smoke flavor . The hot wings, fried chicken tenders and catfish were great as well. Everything in the platter was really good from the fries to the onion rings to the pickle vegetables. The staff was nice and kept on asking us if we need anything else. Definitely make you feel welcome to this restaurant when you walking. The restroom in the restaurant very clean when we arrived and looks like they maintain it pretty well. The parking was plenty since it was located by the mall And they were seating outside the restaurant if you like to sit outside. Went to the take out and asked for a Texas beef brisket sandwich with cheddar cheese, which took like 15 min to get someone to the front. Other customers that already had their food had to intervene and yell at staff that people were waiting to order. We go there pretty often. Great deals every day but Tuesday is our favorite. We got all of this food for only $33. All three people were satisfied, and full. The place is very simple but yet looks good and clean. Every server deserves a raise. The worst service. They charge us full price on two cards instead of splitting the check, we talked with the waitress to get the money back and she asked for our cards again and charge us the split amount $110 dls on each card without checking with us first. Instead of paying $220 total they charged us $660 and they refused to give us the money back right away on cash, the manager didn't show his face to us and the waitress hide on the back. They said there's nothing to do to get it fixed until 3-7 days. Never going back again! They don't care at all about the customers! It this economy $440 dls extra is a lot! There's a crowd of people here in the pickup room and they have given no compensation or even offered a soda. They just keep saying, "We're working on it." I would think the manager would at least try and smooth things over, but he's just as useless. One woman was here an hour and a half! We went this restaurant because it was good so I was really looking forward to eating some good bbq. The bbq tasted like boiled meat with no smoke, the potatoes were sour liked they were old and then that night my stomach was cramping really badly and I was sick. I feel like Famous Dave's by Chandler mall has really kicked up their game! Our family ordered a few times since the pandemic started but it was fairly disappointing. Things we liked were cut out of the menu, portions were smaller and meats was dry or overcooked. We stopped ordering for quite awhile. We ordered today as my husband wanted bbq for nfl playoffs. So much better!! Portions were hearty for the price. Meat was moist, not overcooked. More and new menu items! All the food seemed better quality. Delicious hush puppies and desserts. Twice a month now, we either eat here, or Famous Dave's comes to us. I mean, a dozen or so Famous Dave's employees warm up their BBQ truck and come to our front door. It's my company's way of saying thanks. And boy, do we appreciate it. They assemble their Brisket, Chicken or Pulled Pork sandwiches, with sides of Baked Brisket Beans and a hundred and fifty of us go, wait for it: Hog Wild. Trust me, there's no leftovers. When eating in at the restaurant, we normally sit in the bar area. It makes for a quick get away. But when they come to us, wow the line goes around our office building. There are luncheon specials, and if you tell them you are in a rush, the wait staff understands and makes it quick. Decided to give their $10 lunch menu a try, and ordered the chicken strip lunch for takeout. The chicken strips were a nice sized portion, but I was shocked that they had so much pepper in the breading as to be inedible, at least for me. The sides were okay, but nothing special. I like Famous Daves but they have one habit I hate. I always start with a salad. The salad comes and before I have eaten a quarter of the salad my salad out comes the entree. Now I have to decide whether to finish the salad and let the entree get cold or vice versa. This sucks and it has happened 3 straight times. Makes me feel that I need to hurry to eat and leave. Catering Success! I was tasked to hire caterers for an event I was hosting for about 100 people... Mike @ Famous Dave's made it SOOO easy.. walked me through the process and stayed UNDER budget... we met at the space a few days before to set expectations and walk-thru.
