i haven't been to famous daves in YEARS and i recommended it to my in laws so they could try a new place. its still there so i figured it was still good like before. WRONG. the service was not bad, the prices were exaggerated for what it really was, the quality of the meat is AWFUL. my father in law was about to take a bite out of the ribs and the meat had a strong rotten smell it was so bad he couldn't eat it and almost threw up. they brought another rack of ribs but the first one ruined it. i will not be returning to this place for a long time nor will i ever recommend it to anyone again. read more

Service was excellent. The facility is a very cool eating establishment. Ribs were very good. Beef Brisket is very fatty and cut too thick. Steak fries were very average. They didn't have any corn. They said they ran out. Coleslaw was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Baked beans is very tasty but be warned they are spicy. We ordered pork rinds for an appetizer. It was beyond terrible . First time at a Famous Dave's and went because my niece who was visiting us in Tampa suggested it. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the sauce they give you was very tasty. I got the light mild and it was perfect for me. My husband got the hot and enjoyed it. My niece got the medium and said it was perfect and my daughter got mild and said she could of gone hotter. The cashier, I believe her name was Ashley, was very friendly and took the time to help us determine heat levels. I appreciated the manager coming over to give us a 10% discount but I didn't ask why (maybe because he heard we were first time customers?). However, the discount was not reflected on the bill. Service good. Food so so. Came for dinner. I get things are more expensive now but when the menu reflects the same love for smoked chicken, pork and veg platter, one and one don't equal $22. All restaurants are fighting for the same pool of clients. If one says there's a difference is cost reflected for pork, chicken and beef then it would be different price at all restaurants as you're all taking the same suppliers and negotiating different wholesale cost. I got a loaded potato described as piled high with your choice of beef pork or chicken. Given the only protein and "piled high" description was a little disappointed there wasn't enough chicken for the whole potato. I'd come again but only for lunch. Dinner prices are steep for what appears to be lunch size portions. Even the prizes are priced at $14 and up. As a regular single diner, $15 app, $22 meal, $4 tea, doesn't pass the justification of eating out. 18 or 21 meals a week I eat out. $50 on one meal at one place is a special occasion once we're 6 months. read more

Take-Out review This location of Famous Dave's was open until 11PM on a Sunday, which is practically unheard of lately. I took advantage and placed my order since I'd been craving brisket and my usual BBQ go-to had already closed. I placed my order at 9:47PM and received a pickup time of 10:08PM - although skeptical at how quick this was for three meals, I appreciated it since we were starving. I got there at 10:09PM and parked in a curbside designated space. I wasn't sure if someone would bring the food to me or if I had to go in so I went through the curbside door to a little waiting area. Upon walking in, NO ONE greeted me, not a single person. Even though there were four people in that area who saw me: a woman wearing a red tank top, the bartender, what looked like a server going in and out of the kitchen then talking to the bartender, and the woman on the phone who was working the curbside area. Understandably she might've been complicated taking down an order but a simple "we'll/she'll be right with you" would have sufficed from any of the employees who saw me waiting. Once the the curbside employee was off the phone, she greeted me and gave me my order. Now, the food -- the cornbread was delicious! It's more on the sweet side so I held myself back and only ate half. The brisket, however, was subpar and full of fat. So much so that after eating one piece, I threw it away. Perhaps my expectations were set too high considering my usual is a local bbq joint and not a chain? I don't know but that meat definitely missed the mark. The Mac and cheese was tasty and different. I appreciated that it wasn't runny or watery, but mushy instead. Fries were nothing out of this world either. Folks...! Didn't take third is the charm for this BBQ joint. Unfortunately, I went back tonight expecting the same high quality food as I experienced the first go-around and it was disappointingly average-poor at best. We ordered the chop pork plate and we ate around the fat and grease. It was already too late to go anywhere else so we made the best of what we had ordered. The owner that was in front us was eating his fajitas that fantastically sizzled like ours did last time and smelled delicious; unfortunately, all our meals fell short from average not to mention delicious. We were right on time for the late happy hour so my Robert Mondavi Cabernet bottle was the only saving grace 'cause it came in a bottle and not prepared by the bar in a carafe. Adding insult to injury, all of a sudden we see without exaggeration, 6 police cars and 10 or so police officers entering the restaurant for a dispute with a man that had too much to drink in the bar area. At that point it was dinner and a "whatever you do - don't shoot" show. When I mentioned to the server that I had heard from Manny, asst. mgr. last time I was there, that I would get a free dessert if I wrote a Yelp review (which I was going to do anyway), she told me that I had to re-review to get it...what....?!! Are you kidding...?! Anyway, she spoke to Eddy, the mgr., and she gave us a free bread pudding which came too microwaved hot, ice cream melted and without a thought - incredibly sloppy...nah...! -- my Christmas waistline didn't need or deserved the hot mess...! The only good thing was our server - Melissa. She was incredibly nice, respectful and overall a great server. As I told her, she was the only good thing that came out of this dining experience. As I previously mentioned, the place has accommodated its prices but it's still not cheap; and for that main reason, the food has to always be consistently good. It's hard to make a buck nowadays and this place won't get it from me any time soon..! Folks...I changed this restaurant's review to a hit or miss; and with this economy and pandemic, you might as well go to a restaurant with a consistent hit which is not this one...no Bon Appétit...! read more

Really enjoyed this place. Went on a a Saturday around five, there wasn't a wait time. My family of six was seated quickly outside. They had tents and fan outside so it was very comfortable. Tis' good, YUM. Entering the restaurant you'll notice a fancy ambiance but not so fancy prices. Service has been great every time and happy hour 3-9 every day is quite the perk. My favorite here is definitely the cornbread muffin - so warm and delicious. The BBQ ribs and bacon burger get the second place, also quite YUM.
