    Corned Beef Hash
    Marie S.

Plenty of parking. Front register person was nice, we really liked the coffee and corn bread while waiting 45 minutes for our table. Service was very good she was pleasant and efficient. The food was ok I had the avocado Benedict- they served the eggs on an unpeeled avocado. Way too hard to eat. I had to get my hands under the eggs and try to scoop out the avocado. The flavor was good. The hash was a small amount and had no flavor. Bathroom was clean.

So my husband and I have come here a couple times and we're always disappointed The service isn't attentive or super friendly. The food is eh. Like this time I got the classic Benedict. The potatoes were undercooked and my eggs were way more done than they were supposed to be. We usually tip pretty generously. But this will be our last time here. I chose not to tip as a reflection on everything Good luck to this business I don't mean that sarcastically.

    Daybreak Burrito

My friends and I came for brunch on a Sunday morning. We were seated right away and our waitress was very sweet. The food came out relatively fast. I ordered the daybreak burrito without cheese, but unfortunately it came out with cheese. Thankfully, I realized before I started eating it, and our waitress was apologetic and took the plate back to be corrected. Although the food came out pretty fast the first time around, the replacement burrito took a very long time to come out. When it finally did come out like 20 minuets later, my friends had already finished their meals despite trying to eat slow. With all the headache this could've easily ended up being a 1 or 2 star experience, but our waitress was very kind and discounted my meal to atone for the long wait. The kindness shown by our waitress is what made this a 4 star experience!

Lately I've been learning to enjoy my own company in spaces where I would typically gather with others. I popped in prior to catching a matinee at CMX CinéBistro. It would be too early of a show to enjoy the dining at the theater, so I decided to grab breakfast on the patio at Famous. I was seated immediately on the patio while observing families enjoy a meal together. Service here was excellent. From the hostess to the waitresses and server. I enjoyed shrimp and grits with a grapefruit juice. The dish was very rich and there was plenty of andouille sausage and shrimp to enjoy in the flavorful grits. I would return again when in the area.

    Cornbread. Kind of bland.

The meal was ok, all servers were nice. Service was a little slow. I wish there were some specials (seasonal meals) like when we visited pre-pandemic. The $6 mini latte didn't taste good (took it home to add milk, hopefully to taste better). Not sure why they serve the cornbread, it's fairly bland.

Country Benedict delivery bag was filled with a spilled container, mess of gravy, and broken over easy eggs.

Ordered Country Benedict for breakfast. Order was delivered by GrubHub. Order was a disaster in the delivery bag. Eggs ordered over easy were scattered over inside of delivery bag along with all the biscuits and the gravy covered everything. . Grits were in a separated sealed container but came without butter on the side. No eating utensils or napkins were included. Called Manager of Famous Toastery. Manager actually said, "This is the way we serve it in a non sealed containers. The meal arrived as a soupy and sloppy mess inside the delivery bag. This is because the containers were not sealed or secured properly causing a spill of the entire meal. Unbelievable excuse from restaurants manager. Had to call GrubHub for a refund.

The most disgusting breakfast I've ever had. One slice of bread, 2 precooked sausage patties and two eggs ordered over easy, came out nearly raw. All this for $14.07. Are you freekin kidding me? BUT, the ice tea was good and it was only $4.00. What a rip off and terrible food to boot!

The Waitress & her friendly smile was the highlight of this visit. When I lived here, this was one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. My favorites were the fresh baked quiche or Cali-Benedict with fresh avacodo & tomato. The last time I stopped here, I was also surprised, but today I decided to give it another try. The homemade & delicious quiche is no longer on the menu. The avacodo on my Cali-Benedict was brown & the tomato had no taste. I asked to see the Manager, but after waiting a while, he never came out of the Kitchen. I can truly appreciate & understand the challenges of Covid. However, after my last three visits, I'm amazed at the Changes to this Previous Five Star venue. Good Food & Service are always appreciated & garner compliments & repeat customers. So let's start with I was so excited to be able to go to famous Toastery. I won a gift card and I was so excited because this was my first time at this particular restaurant. I went with a my friend and my girls just having a ladies out. We got there and expected a wait which was fine. The place seemed to be busy because of staffing like most places. We ordered our food and we were a bit taken back. The food did not look as it appeared but that's no where near as important as the taste of the food. I ordered a waffle and was a bit upset at how hard it was and how it may looked airy it was not and it did not taste as good as I hoped for. My friends wrap had nothing on it and lays potato chips came on her plate. This cost $75 dollars. Where do you see $75 worth of food!? The best thing about it was the waitress she was sweet and showed up the fresh oj machine. Good luck with your visit I hope it is better than mine.

So we pulled off, took out the trusty Yelp app, and this place popped up. Pulling it, it was clear that they were popular and busy. We went in and there was a wait, about 15 minutes. We decided to hang around instead of worrying about "making good time" and are glad we did. Once we got a seat, we received great service. Our server always kept our drink full, and checked on us just enough. We never felt like we were searching for her. Looking at the menu, I was surprised to see that the prices were not unreasonable, even though it's a very trendy place. in fact, they had a $10ish lunch menu available with a few selections that even included a drink. I was more in a lunch mood so I went that direction, and got a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. Food came out hot and in a reasonable time even with a full restaurant, so this is a well oiled machine. For the price, I was pretty impressed. I would say the sandwich was about the size of your average CFA chicken sandwich, but had a bold buffalo flavor that I liked a lot. They didn't skimp on the fries, and the ranch complemented it perfectly. We finished up and our server was on top of things getting us the check, so really we still made "good time" on our drive to the coast. I would recommend Brunches to travelers and locals alike!

I went savory: a chicken salad croissant (flaky, generously filled, with a side of bow-tie pasta salad and a creamy poppyseed slaw) and a pressed caprese-style panini with tomato, mozzarella, and basil grilled to a deep golden crisp. The Chicken & Waffles was my favorite! The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffle was a sweet corn waffle. I'm on a quest to find the best Dirty Martini in the area and this is in contention. I ordered the burger and my husband got the shrimp and grits. We'd say they were "fine". Neither the meat nor shrimp were seasoned. That said they were cooked well. The grits were well done and the relish was on target. The fries were also fantastic. Overall, it was a good experience sitting on the beautiful patio with music coming into the space from the park. With a few tweaks this could get a better rating.
