DAMN!!!! I don't know that there is anything else to say. I Chicago style pizza. This is by far my fave pizza in Charleston now. Def go Chicago style first. We will try the NY style eventually but i cannot say it enough...DAMN! The crust is so buttery and the sauce is a dead ringer for Chicago style, the chunky sauce that is. And the cheese, can't even describe. And they brew their own beer to boot. Seriously, doesn't get any better. Even my husband could only eat 2 slices. Now bfast or lunch for leftovers??? I am Never disappointed by this place! We live in Summerville and order delivery from famulari's at least twice a month. We love their pizza, hands down the best in the lowcountry. We also love making the trip to james island to their brewery where we can have their amazing pizza with their tasty beer! Wanderlust is my favorite refreshing beer but our go to is always the skinny vanilla latte! I have never tasted anything like it! The uniqueness of the coffee flavor in a light beer (and not a stout) is really interesting. The atmosphere is also great, the beer garden outside is where we always sit. The lights, live music, and Charleston air always make for a fun Friday evening! This location is different from others because of the beer, but it still has the great famulari's pizza and eats! read more

Been to Famularis a couple different times. I really enjoy their outdoor area with a very large bar with lots of seating and they have tables around the bar to sit. They really did a nice job with the layout and decor. Their happy hour is EVERY DAY from 4-8 which is awesome! But the only down side is it's only on their beers, but I definitely understand where they are coming from. I also wish they had happy hour food specials. My favorite appetizer is the pepperoni rolls! So delicious, comes with 4 rolls and they are large. Similar in size to a large egg roll. I've had multiple pizzas and always enjoy it! Definitely like to try something new every time. Just recently a group of 6 of us went to go try the Chicago pizza, wow it's big! The whole facility is very clean, great environment and staff is super friendly and informing. Fam's Brewing is a cool spot with a nice outdoor patio. They have a big variety of house drafts on tap. I tried the 'Raise My Rent' draft and it did not disappoint. Their fried green beans came out hot and good flavor. We had the Chicago deep dish classic and it was very good as well. If you like Chicago style pizza then I would definitely recommend it. One of our go to spots on JI! My boyfriend and I often go here after working out at golds gym to negate any gains we made. My boyfriend always gets the meatball sub and I get the chicken Caesar wrap. We're a fan of all their sides and salads! When we order pizza we usually get the barbecue chicken and it's AMAZING! We love the atmosphere of the outdoor bar/patio seating and the staff is always friendly. One thing to note is that the food can often take longer than expected (especially takeout) so if you go into it knowing that it's no big deal - just grab a beer while ya wait but if you're in a hurry this might cause frustration... read more

We were in Folly Beach, visiting my parents and were looking for a happy hour place. My parents mentioned Fam's to us. This place is awesome! It is kind of hidden but the bier garden outside is an awesome place to hang out! Their happy hour has $5 FBC beers, about 15 to choose from, that are delicious. Our group tried about 8 different ones. Our favorites were the Skinny Vanilla Latte, their signature beer, Raise my Rent and the Cup of Clouds. So good! On Tuesdays 10" one-topping pizzas are only $5 all day. There are other daily deals like half prices burgers on Mondays. They also have Chicago deep dish style pizza. The wings were great! The atmosphere and service is amazing. Highly recommend this place. read more

This place used to be great, but service and quality has gone way downhill - paid $30 for an underdone pizza with almost no sauce and borderline rancid pepperoni (didn't even know it was possible for pepperoni to go bad?!). Also waited more than an hour all told for that carry out and got no reply to an email that wasn't even asking for money back. We used to be regular customers but they don't seem to care much for the non-tourist crowd anymore. Too bad - the Sunday deals are still a great deal. read more

Came here after overhearing someone talking about the place. The place was pretty empty when we got there which meant we got to pick where we wanted to sit- which was outside and perhaps not the best idea with the number of bugs flying around. I'm not a big beer drinker but thought I should try one since they are a brewery. Not my favorite beer but not bad (some sort of blonde beer). The pizza that we ordered was not memorable at all but the crust did have a nice crunch. Our waitress was prompt and friendly and earned them the third star. read more

The James Island location of the local chain has the added feature of being a brewpub, which definitely makes it worth checking out. The menu offers sandwiches, salads, and pastas, but it's above all a pizza place and one of the few in town that has both regular ("NY style," I guess) and "Chicago Style" pizzas. The regular pizzas are pretty solid but I really enjoy the Chicago-style pizzas. I've never been to Chicago, as a Southerner have no real dog in the pizza-style fight (like a Midwesterner trying to weight in on whether it's okay to add any seasoning to boiled peanuts), and we can debate whether that's actually a pizza or a circular lasagna but I can't dispute that layers of cheese and meat are delicious. The brewpub side features about 8 or so original brews of varying styles that can be enjoyed there or taken home growlers. The couple I have tried have been pretty solid beers. They also offer a bunch of local and regional beers on tap. They have a huge outdoor area with some fire pits and a big outdoor bar that's a great place to hang out (and the TVs mean it'll be a good place to catch football games in the fall). I've lived in Charleston for a while and have never tried this place. It is absolutely amazing!! The deep dish pizza is delicious and the quality is superb. They definitely don't skimp on toppings! I went here last night with my yelpsters for a UYE. We sat outside in the beer garden like area. It was nice (aside from the bugs). I thought the market lighting was very pretty, and they turned the heaters on for us so we we'rent too chilly. Our server was very sweet and attentive to our large group. My side Greek salad was huge and very delicious, and the pizza, Carolina Blue, my husband and I shared was too. I wasn't really a fan of the cheese curds and bread dough apps. The inside looked nice and the bathrooms we're clean. From the looks of it, you wouldn't think you were in a shopping plaza. About 12 Yelp friends gathered for a UYE. We sat outside on the patio at sunset under heaters with bug repellent (thanks Nick) and it was great fun. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Two styles of za are offered, New York and Chicago style, and they were both great. The thin crust za topped with pepperoni and mushrooms was crispy, foldable, and delicious. Hooray for a brewpub on James Island!!! Excellent beer, tasty pizza, plenty of parking (for your ass and your wheels) and friendly people. I've been in a few times and tried many of their beers, and both styles of pizza. While neither of their pizza styles are traditional for the style, they're both good - I think the Chicago style is significantly better than the thinner crust option. If it was just a pizza place, I probably wouldn't choose their pizza over D'Alessandro's (personal fave), but thank god they have freaking good beer too! I've really been impressed with all the styles I've tried - triple, imperial stout, and IPA have been my favorites so far. They've got their own beer and a handful of taps dedicated to other breweries, so you'll be sure to find something you like. Reasonably priced too. Possibly the most underrated brewery in Charleston. Everything they put on tap is solid. The pizza is great - both the regular and deep dish. I've enjoyed the burgers and wraps as well.
