We went here on a recommendation from a friend who loves their Goose Creek location. The server was nice enough, but it took a long time for her to come to the table when we first arrived even though there weren't many tables with guests sitting at them. I ordered a strawberry jalapeño margarita and my boyfriend got a beer. The margarita was 75% jalapeño, so it was difficult to drink because it was so spicy. I got a personal sized muffuletta pizza, and I did love it, so that's why I gave 3 stars instead of 2. My boyfriend got a Stromboli and we think whatever came out was a calzone, but it was almost all thick mozzarella and almost no sauce or meat. He didn't like his meal, I didn't like my drink, and with so many great options around we won't be coming back here. read more

This hidden pizza place is awesome. I'd never heard of it until this trip and was excited to find a new fave. We didn't try a lot of the beer as we were mostly just hungry, but the Folly Orange was a nice light fruit beer and perfect for the hot weather. The zeppolis were on point and a great appetizer. The "shake" and marinara sauce were both well seasoned and delicious. The white pizza was pretty perfect. Normally I resist tomato slices on a pizza- these tastes fresh from the garden and perfectly roasted. The flavors were all there and wonderfully simple. We mostly have gotten delivery, so this is for their food purely. We did pop in for a pick up recently and were super impressed with the space and how nice it was. Cool vibe in there and will definitely be going in soon. JI location is a brewpub! The food here is pretty dang good! I have this awesome dietary restriction in which I cannot have gluten. For a life long pizza lover, this hurts me! LUCKILY they have a pretty awesome gluten free pizza. The crust is thin and just the right amount crispy-- not overly crunchy and dry like most gluten free jams. They have a great selection of toppings and I obviously love to get a pizza craving satisfied with a good gluten free pizza! Delivery has always been fast and reliable. We used to call the orders in to the James Island location because they didn't offer online ordering when it first opened. It appears that you can do that now, which is cool. They get pretty busy on Thursday-Sunday, so we'd often get put on hold. No more, thanks to the internets! Anyways, this place is killer. For the gluten eaters- get the Chicago style pizza. This thing is jam packed with toppings and cheese. You'll wait a little longer for it but it is SO worth it. read more

Two words- Chicago pizza. Oh my stars, this pizza is heavenly! This deep dish pizza is stuffed with cheese and your choice of toppings. My go to has been meatball and fresh garlic, and it does not disappoint. The pizza is topped with chunky tomatoes and crispy parmesan. The crust is perfect-- fantastic balance of crunch and fluffy. So far we've tried the chicken parm sandwich, cheese curds, chicken tenders, and obviously, the treat-tastic pizza. Semi disappointed in the chicken tenders, which were a bit bland. Everything else has hit it out of the park! As a disclaimer, I have only ordered delivery from here, so I cannot comment on the restaurant experience itself. I drool over it as I walk by on my way into Gold's Gym, but haven't actually stopped in yet! Definitely will to try their drinks! Delivery times are always as they state. They generally give about an hour window when ordering the Chicago style pizza, since it takes a little longer to cook. Delivery drivers are always very pleasant, and tend to chat about the food! Yes. Yes. Yes. So glad I got to try this place! The staff were extremely sweet and attentive, from the host staff to our server. (And I would know because my toddler was in rare form this evening) and they rolled with it with a smile. The cheese curd starter was golden, crispy and delish. My calzone was outstanding. Massive patio, on-site brewing, shuffleboard, two bars, and pizza/strombolis/calzones galore. There's a lot to pick from, but the patio might be my favorite--string lights and lounge chairs keep it chill, while the massive covered bar and round family-style tables are great for a party. Inside, bistro-style tables mix with the game area and the neon-lit bar with many TVs. You can also see the whole brewery operation. Did I say the patio is HUGE! It's brand new, so it's still getting its sea legs and I haven't tried all the food, but this new iteration of Famulari's has a lot going for it already. read more

Stopped by Famulari's to see the infamous Rickmobile from Rick and Morty (dont judge). The staff was incredible and very accommodating to folks waiting in line. It was pretty cool to get a cold beer (named after the show no less!) and a slice of pizza while waiting in line to get some merch. Once I was inside I made sure to grab some more pizza and get another drink. The dining room was crowded so we opted to go to the outdoor bar that was both covered and heated. Huge. We were perfectly comfortable outside and enjoyed some TV, good conversation, and most importantly insanely delicious pizza. Seriously this is some of the best pizza in town and you should definitely check it out. read more

There is a great selection local beer (most local breweries are represented, including their own). The outside patio area is awesome! There is plenty of table and bar seating. In my 2 experiences the staff members have been extremely friendly and quick to respond. Now to the food: I've had a NY style pie and a Philly Cheese Sandwich along with the fried mushrooms and fries. I thought the mushrooms were great. If you are looking for a classic NY style crust you may be disappointed. It has great flavor, but not that "foldable" quality, a little bit more crisp. Pizza sauce and toppings again had great flavor. As for the sandwich, no complaints. The flavor was great (again the traditional bread is a bit "chewier" but not a noticeable as the pizza). As of today, I cannot address the Chicago Style pie...but I look forward to trying it. Ambiance is great, as is the service! Patio dining and an outdoor bar are rare on JI and I will do my best to support the business. read more

This spot is a solid 4 stars. I've been here 4 times now I think. It's got a great patio and an expansive inside. It's a great spot to bring the kiddo as well. The service can be hit or miss for sure. Everyone is really friendly but there have definitely been times when the server has been absent or seriously screwed up the order. I'll chalk it all up to training as they are still pretty new and on each occasion it's been someone different. The first time we went they had 4 house beers. The second time it was up to 6. Now there are about 8-9 house brewed beers on the menu so it's nice to see their list growing with their own product. As for beer quality it's good. I wouldn't say any of theirs brews blew me away but nothing I tasted was horrible either. They are stretching the beer palate with NEIPAs or BBA Stouts here. On to the food.... definitely a highlight! We've had quite a few different pizzas, salad, meatball slider trio and some other thins. The pizza is very good from the traditional to the deep dish. They do allow adjustments as well which is nice. For instance we ordered the pepperoni and sausage deep dish and subbed out mushrooms for pepperoni and they happily obliged. Prices are fair for what you get, quality is good, the patio is great and it's family friendly (kids slices are great!) read more

Wow. I would do anything to get a Fam's in Charlotte!! We stopped in last night while on vacation. Decided to go big and get a Chicago style. Nice lady at the table next to us mentioned she could only eat 1 and1/2 slices before she was stuffed. Well, my wife and I laughed and thought "watch this"! That pizza came and we rolled up our sleeves and dug in to the deliciousness. After one slice I glanced at my wife to see how she was doing and caught her glancing back. We didn't want to admit how full we were getting. We split the next slice and then took the rest back to our Airbnb! Amazing, superb, wonderful, delicious, filling, awesome pie. Definitely my favorite pizza place now on James Island. The Chicago style deep dish is as authentic as they come...better than many I had when I lived back there! The Italia and Margherita pizzas were good but not hot when finally brought out. They use excellent crumbled sausage. The chicken bacon sandwich was dry and had no flavor at all. My husband and I stopped in at Fam's after a kayak tour and were very pleased with the service, food, and beer selection. They weren't busy. Our waiter (the owner) was attentive, but not overbearing. If we are ever in Charleston on a Sunday during football season we would DEFINITELY catch a game here. The pizza was good, but the wings were KILLER. We had them grilled with the teriyaki sauce. Went here on a Sunday afternoon. Sat at the outside bar. Like most places here in Charleston area, everyone is super friendly. Had the problem child double ipa and it was real good. Too good to have a second with the high alcohol content. Wife had half carafe of mimosas. Literally a bottle of champagne in it for $10 on sundays. Beer really good as was atmosphere outside.
