It was served on a brown sauce that was tasty. It also had a swipe of either green goddess or pesto butter on the plate that was top tier on the steak. 10/10 I want that butter. It needs to be on every steak from here on out! The mashed potatoes were really good. They were super smooth and creamy but had some chunks of potato for texture. We went around 8:30, and the host asked us if it was a special occasion. We told him, and did not hear a single "happy anniversary" or anything the rest of the night. I was given a brunch menu and was told simply to add $20 onto the prices to figure out the dinner prices. Why am I doing math after a 10-hour shift? We instantly flipped our cards over to ensure we did not stay past close. 33 minutes went by before our first meat was cut. Another 15 minutes went by and I finally asked our waiter to bring filet. Instead, flank steak came out. When we said no, we don't want that, we could overhear the waiter saying, "Did (so and so) screw up again?" presumably about a server or chef. When we finally got filet, it was wrapped in bacon, which my girlfriend does not eat. I asked the manager, who I believe was named Luis, to serve us filet or ribeye without bacon. He shook his head and didn't say a word. We consistently tried to flag people down for a cut of meat and were repeatedly ignored. By now it was almost 10:00, and we had each maybe three cuts of meat, with ribeye being the only one we actually wanted. Finally, Luis came over and offered us a free dessert. $200 for a dessert isn't exactly a deal if you ask me. I turned it down as I had to be up at 4 AM for work. Anniversary ruined. They turned the lights on and essentially kicked us out. I couldn't fathom when we got the bill that not a single thing was comped, not even my cheap glass of wine. I tipped our server well, who was very nice and actually felt bad that the rest of the restaurant couldn't get it together. This is absolutely unacceptable and ruined our anniversary. We ended up at Cook Out, which gave us 10x as much food as our $200 dinner. I subsequently reached out to Fogo three separate times regarding this experience and my request for a full refund. I have received no response whatsoever. I gave them multiple opportunities to address this directly, and they have completely ignored all three attempts. I have been a longtime Fogo customer and have gone there for virtually every special occasion. That is what makes this experience especially disappointing. The dinner was terrible, our anniversary was ruined, and after spending approximately $200, I can't even get a response from the company after reaching out three times.
