Amazing everything I'm on a mission to try every single sandwich better than Jersey mikes. Better than subway. Best food in mentone hands down. And owners are amazing

AMAZING SERVICE AND QUALITY. Best homemade food anywhere you go. The service is amazing, true love birds with a story behind their cafe/restaurant. Cozy and comfy indoor and outdoor setting. Dog friendly and human friendly too. Treat the owners with respect, they don't disappoint! Fresh and good quality food. I go here every time I drive up the 38 or go to big Bear. They have live music too!

This place is super cute and has the most personable owners. I ordered a vanilla latte hot and it was perfection. I love the personalized mugs. The ambiance is very laid back. Check out their outdoor patio area too.

A gem in mentone, Heska is so fun to talk to. Not only that but the FOOD so so good my friends all got something different and we were passing our sandwichs around the table for each of us to try and trading because we all liked each others. Really cool spot, can't wait to bring my pups next time!

A great place to stop for lunch. Busy on a Sunday afternoon. Promptly greeted and order was taken quickly. Food as delicious, beef dip was excellent, oriental chicken salad was on the smaller side (ordered a large portion). Plenty of seating inside and dog friendly seating outside.

Perfect spot! Absolutely adorable location and building. Plenty of seating and lovely ambiance with cool old vintage furniture and art. Very cool vibe. Food was also amazing! I had the dirty chai and breakfast sandwich. Both were fire! Service was lovely as wll

Whenever I'm back in Redlands visiting my parents, I make a trip to Heskas for my usual: Mocha Frappe with the Spicy Mongolian Beef and Oriental Salad combo. This time I took my dog Yuki with me for a lunch date at their Bark Park. Joe, Heska's husband, was super sweet and went out of his way to accommodate Yuki with a water bowl and a Milkbone. I used to study inside by the window years ago, and the coziness of the Shack extended nicely to the backyard as well. Thanks for all the years of delicious sandwiches and Mocha frappes!

I am Convinced there is NO place like Heska's The ambiance is Amazing from the minute you walk in. Your greeted with the Biggest Smiles & Amazing energy. That's just the start! Let talk about how Authentic the flavors in the food are. You don't get this sort of quality anywhere these days. Did I also say Fresh HOMEMADE bread We sat in they're beautiful backyard for the cutest Lunch! Where Heska & her husband both came by to have a little chat ! We had the best time to say the least. This is a Hidden Gem. Do Not pass it by! I didn't realize what I was missing until we tried it. Thank you Heska for your wonderful energy & amazing cooking. It was an honor.

At 9 am on weekdays they have a full assortment delicious, fresh baked pastries and the staff are hard at work preparing trays for later in the day. The servers are friendly and it's not too busy - lines of maybe 4 or 5 people at the most. There are two businesses sharing the same building: Village Bread on the right and Lucid Coffee on the left. You get in line and pay twice, once for drinks and again for pastries. It's great to support local, independent businesses and hopefully the arrangement is working out well for both of them. There are small tables with stools to sit on around the side of the counter on the way to the gender-neutral restroom at the back of the shop. The tables are a bit small but it leaves a wide aisle and clearly communicates that the building is accessible for folks who use wheelchairs. The hum of the oven fans creates white noise in the background and there is music playing but not distractingly loud. I find it easy to get work done here. There is free wifi, ask at the counter for the QR code or password.

One-part bakery and one-part family restaurant, this is a classic Americana restaurant. I don't think I've ever tried lunch or dinner options in all my infrequent visits, but breakfast reigns supreme here, so there's that. Frankly, I've never had a bad meal here. Service is casual friendly, but slow and steady by design. I've always found the servers and staff to be cheerful and happy. My wife ordered the steak Benedict anI the corned beef Benedict. the quality of my wife's ssteak was not a very good sirloin cut, although the were at least able to cook it right My corned beef Benedict was the worst thing I have ever ordered or tasted. The menu indicated that it would be 1/3 lb of corned beef on the Benedict, however I got 2 of what was about an 1/8 lb corned beef hash that they formed into a patty. It was some low quality type canned hash that had some horrible unnatural flavor that incapacitated me with a bad headache for the rest of my Saturday afternoon. I told the lady in the cashier that their menu needs to be more truthful and indicate that it'll be corned beef hash and not sliced corned beef you would find in more legit delis. If they advertise 1/3 lb of corned beef and they deliver 1/4 lb of corned beef hash, they need to indicate so in their menu. I don't believe I shall return due to the bad food experience I had, but I am more of a picky when it comes to food since I am a very particular Chef. This is just my personal review of this place and why the single star rating.

Pro tip: get in line as soon as you get there because it fills up fast and the line can absolutely go out the door. I had the chai latte (so good), a cheese danish (dangerous), and an Everlasting Ferments kombucha...the Habanero Ginger is a sleeper hit. First off, the ambience is great. The café is decorated with cute French-themed touches, and it has a cozy, inviting vibe. The employees were also friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. For food, I ordered a turkey sandwich. It was good overall--more of a torta-style sandwich with flavorful ingredients, served on toasted white bread. No complaints there. Unfortunately, the coffee was a letdown. I ordered the horchata latte, but it tasted like low-quality coffee. I didn't really get any horchata flavor--more like a watered-down vanilla/cinnamon latte. For dessert, I tried the key lime tart. It wasn't very sweet, and the crust was extremely dry. Considering it was almost $10 for a fairly small tart, it didn't feel worth the price. Speaking of price, the overall cost felt overpriced for what you get. I paid around $30 for a sandwich, coffee, and tart, which felt steep given the quality of the items I tried. Service timing was another issue. A group came in after me, and my order wasn't started until after they took everyone else's order. Normally this wouldn't bother me, but I was in a bit of a hurry, and it ended up holding me up longer than expected. That said, it does seem like crepes are their main specialty, and judging by other reviews, those might be worth trying. If you're going specifically for crepes, it may still be worth a visit. However, based on my experience with the sandwich, coffee, and dessert, I personally wouldn't return. I genuinely wish them the best as a small business--it just wasn't for me.
