Nice local sandwich shop that feels homey. The 'avogobble" sandwich is their trademark sub, (and truly tasty!) but I've enjoyed everything I've gotten here. And compared to a chain place like Subway, I feel like I get better value for my money, esp on the 12" subs. For vegetarians, just one note on the veggie sub: add cheese and ask for extra seasoning or it's a little bland. You could also add pepperoncinis if you like a little heat. They have fountain drinks, plus some bottled ones like Snapple. There'a a good variety of chips to get a little crunch alongside a bready sub. It's a classic combo for a reason, right? I do have to take one star off for the soup I ordered last time. It was touted as a delicious broccoli cheddar and there was " only one bowl left!" I was too trusting LOL. It was very watery and seemed to have been a soup mix microwaved and served in a thin plastic container. Sigh. And my hopes were so high. Oh well. I'll keep coming for the good deal on subs (they also have specials based on the day of the week) and the small family business feel. read more

Figured I would try a new place for lunch. Ordered a simple 12 inch turkey, bacon and cheese sub. BIG MISTAKE!!! The bread was very starchy white flower. The turkey tasted like it was bought from the Costco deli meat pack. They only put like 2 or 3 slices of turkey on the sandwich. The bacon looked and tasted like store bought ready made bacon from Hormel or Oscar Meyer. No flavor and salty. I think they put like 3 or 4 very small slices of bacon on the sub. The cheese was regular white American. I guess you can go wrong with good old American cheese. But again, they only put 3 or 4 thin slices on the sub. I would have gotten a better sub from Jersey Mike's or even Subway. And saying Subway is a better sub...now that's really saying something about this place. If you want a better quality sub, go to Jersey Mike's, Subway or even Von's. read more

First visit and had a great experience. We stopped in yesterday afternoon (9/14/25) and were immediately greeted by the woman working the front counter. At first, I felt like we were being rushed, but once we started chatting with her, everything was cool. The service couldn't have been better, as she assisted us with our order, and then assisted the other woman making the sandwiches. FOOD: We ordered a 12" Meatball Sub ($9.99) and a 12" New Yorker Sub ($8.99), which included 3 or 4 meats, cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, and a couple bags of chips. Altogether, it was only $24. The meatballs had a hint of garlic, the sauce was perfect, not too acidic, and plenty of cheese. The meats, cheese, and veggies on the New Yorker were fresh and tasty. There are a few spots for indoor dining, and a few patio tables/chairs, as well as a couple off street parking spaces. It's nothing fancy, but the service and food were very good. The subs of USA is a great place to eat bomb s up sandwiches and place to chill hangout catch-up right well now a few years later the owner Irene has been rude to certain homeless people accused me of stealing from her store when I never did saying I put my hands in tip jar and never did not I was homeless during the time this happened and then I'd come get told to leave because I stolen from the store which was news to me so now we come to judging Mario making comments about me being homeless doing drugs that I smell just stuff u don't say when it can be heard so today I went in and was to get ice water cause it's been 100 here in yucaipa ca so if u go in ask for water or use restroom you can today changes one of the workers said she doesn't want u in here unless u buy something so a few other ppl have had issues as well there as far as comments go and what not so just tired of this with restaurant owners and owners in general grow up so Yes and this has occurred more wlrth other homeless or non homeless ppl so something to think about subs read more

I usually love this place but was so disappointed today. When I went into the establishment there was one woman outside on her phone smoking and another one inside sitting on the bench on her cell phone she looks up and goes to the resister the look on her face and tone of her voice was not the usual greetings you receive in that shop. Maybe she was annoyed I interrupted her phone time. she seemed like I was annoying her. The sandwich's had no meat were super dry and were made incorrectly. I like to come here every once in a awhile to support local business. Unfortunately the service experience was so poor I will be going to Subway or Jersey Mike's from now on. I want to address something that happened during my order when I called to make an order. While I was ordering, I was told 'you're going to have to hurry up your order' and 'I have a customer in front of you.'" This was after I told her I'm just ordering two subs. I also had to repeat my order multiple times while it seemed like attention was elsewhere. I want to be clear--being rushed and spoken to that way is not appropriate or acceptable customer service. We had a party of about 25 people and Subs of USA came in clutch. I did not do the ordering I'm just an attendee but this is one of the best sub sandwiches I've had. Everything was super fresh. The bread was obviously just cooked this morning and I don't even want to advertise the little lead time that they had to make the sandwiches. because when you're catering a party you should give more notice. But the last time I went there were two Hispanic ladies that were rude and had bad attitudes. The lady who takes your order is extremely rude. She could NOT understand for the life of her what "I want onions and pepperoncinis on the whole 12 inch, add lettuce and tomato to only half of it". If I could give a zero I would have. I ordered two sandwiches and neither one of them were right at all. What I ordered was a pastrami with pickles and American cheese only what I got was pastrami provolone cheese no pickles and mustard that had been wiped off after it was put on the sandwich but was still very prevalent in taste and I hate mustard but what if me asking for no mustard was because of an allergy? They just wipe it off not acceptable. The second sandwich was there famous avagobble What I ordered was no tomato no oil and vinegar add cheese and extra bacon. What I got was turkey cheese lettuce oil and vinegar no bacon whatsoever not one little piece. I called and told them after I driven home what had happened and they said okay well then bring it back. No apology no nothing I said I live the town over and I am not going to drive back can you just put my name on the list and next time I can get my sandwiches correctly for no charge. She said we can't do that unless you bring the sandwiches back so either way I had to drive 5 Mi back which I know isn't a lot but it was a long day for me and I was exhausted my husband had just finished his radiation treatment and that's all he wanted for dinner was a good sandwich from there and that did not happen. She told me manager would call me the next day. I went on our local FB page for the town gave my experience online. I then got a call from the girl that I spoke with at the restaurant and she said well the manager is not going to call you tomorrow she's going to call you on Monday which was 3 days later. Subs of USA is a quaint sub shop located in the heart of Downtown Yucaipa. I've been here on two separate occasions and I can attest to its small-town feel. The ladies were cordial and the food was solid. I definitely preferred the Avogobble over the New Yorker. I think the avocado gives the sandwich that extra bit of "je ne sais quois" to make it perfect. If I could put 0 stars I WOULD. Horribly made food. Tomato's rock hard. Asked for pepper chinis on my sandwhich, there were none. I called to ask how they were going to make it right and she proceeded to lie and try and tell me that the imaginary pepper chinis were on my sandwich and that she personally made it. when I'm picking it apart staring at it not finding one damn pepper chini and that I was WRONG and that there was nothing she could do about it. That she would have to call the OWNER of the place instead of remaking my sandwich. Anyone in customer service KNOWS you fix the customers problem! Amazing sandwiches! Simple ingredients, nothing crazy on the menu trying to be artsy. They have daily specials. Everything was fresh. My Turkey, bacon and cheese sandwich was great.
