Breakfast - I had the breakfast burrito, with sausage.  If I did not look for the sausage and saw those tiny little pieces I would have thought they had forgotten to add the meat.  The egg was fine, and the hash browns had some parts burnt to a crisp. I have not been to Farmer Boys in about 18 years. I wasn't even aware that there was one in AZ. I was craving chili cheese fries searched for best chili cheese fries nearby and was so happy to see Farmer Boys come up. I used to go often when I lived in CA. I ordered a cheese burger and, of course, some chili cheese fries. The burger had some pink in the patti, which I prefer more of a well-done burger it was still really good. The fries were so good! Completely satisfied my chili cheese fries craving. There is all day breakfast. Customer service.......wasn't the best, unfortunately. We took a bit trying to figure out the menu and decide what we wanted and the young lady at the register seemed bothered. Then when we were given the food we had to ask for silverware and the gentleman also seemed bothered. As a fairly new place, I think Farmer Boys still needs to work on ironing out the kinks. The drive-thru line was at a standstill, and I was trapped in it for 20 minutes. Unfortunately, my fries and burger patty were served cold. Super disappointing. I gave them another chance, and we went inside on our second visit. This time, the food was served hot, which was good. I am new to AZ. When I saw Farmer Boy'sc I was really surprised and happy. They are from my hometown and are very popular there. The first thing I noticed was the building looked exactly like the one's I was used to. That was a good sign. When I went inside it was just like the ones I was used to. Even the smell. Hurts my head! Had to try this new Burger place in Gilbert. Line went out the door but moved quickly. The drive up line was crazy long but also seemed to move well. We ordered a good sampling of their offerings: Their Signature Burger the Farmer's Burger with Zucchini (more in a moment), wife ordered the Fiery Chicken Sandwich. We added to that a big Farmers chopped Cobb Salad and the Chili Cheese Fries. (My son got the kids burgers and fruit, very good) Ok, I've got a Smart Alex mouth and my wife doesn't tolerate it well and often clobbers me. So, take this advice and watch out for the GIANT ZUCCHINI! It hurts! I'm telling you, those Zucc's are GIANT, giant like clubs! Just ask her! The Farmers Burger is a full sized double with everything on it. It's a real masterpiece! The Fiery Chicken sandwich could have been a lot closer to the style of the Farmers Burger but they missed it. It's tasty but a bit of a disappointment compared to the Farmers Burger. The Salad is a very good Cobb and the chili fries are very good. This was their second day open and they seemed to have it running smooth even with the monster crowd. Some may disagree with me here, but for the price we were a bit disappointed in the food quality and for what you're getting. Several of us also mentioned that we got this nostalgic flavor from the burgers and fries. The burgers reminded us of a burger king whopper (eerily similar) and the fries were very similar to McDonald's. The zucchini side a nice change from typical fast food sides and everyone liked them. They are thick cut and fried. For a place to claim they are not fast food joint, they prepped our two burgers and fries much quicker than most fast food burger places! And for the price which was way more than we spend at in n out vs the quality, I can't say for certain we'll be back. Understandably busy and still working thru the kinks of a new location I too had a long wait in drive thru. But it was worth it in the long run. Ate in the car. Ordered a double burger combo with strawberry shake for the teen. He was impressed and that is so rare. I ordered the chicken sourdough and it was so good. I also ordered the onion rings. They were huge rings. I think they might not have been seasoned correctly but ‍, wasn't really impressed. So tonight the teen says "mom, can we get that Farmer food again?" Lol well yes..... I ordered him the same but I wanted to try something else. Ordered the Cobb salad. Was impressed that it was much larger and filled with each component. The burgers were amazing. Don't want to compare it to anything else as the freshness & quality of the beef was amazing. Melted in your mouth. We've been here several times and love the food. The prices seem a little high but honestly, all fast food prices have increased thanks to our minimum wage increasing , so I'm not sure the restaurant can be blamed. Zucchini is REALLY good. Definitely try this to start. The fries are small for what you pay, but again, that's not necessarily a game changer. Burgers are good, breakfast great, onion rings are good, salads too. We have had some issues with incorrect orders, etc with new employees but that is expected with a new(and very busy/popular) business getting started. I wanted to give it 4 stars but decided on five because it's a family friendly place that we keep ending up coming back to! Try this place out next time you want a taste of the 'farm'!! read more

Bacon was so tough and chewy. I could not split it with my teeth. Fries were soggy and limp even though it says "always crispy" on the bag. I would put them up against McDonalds any day. They offer combo specials on burgers ans sandwiches if you want a side & a drink. They have a frequent diner program you can join through their app. Staff are always super friendly and quick assembling your order. In a word ? Yuk Stopped in to give it another chance after a nothing special burger lunch. This time I came at breakfast. There were more staff than customers so I figured orders would be out in a timely manner. I was wrong. I placed my order for eggs, hash browns , bacon . I also placed an order for a side of tomato slices. After a long delay the food came out. It's was the perfect marriage of burned and ice cold that is hard to manage but they did. I realized after they left the table that the tomatoes were missing. I went to the counter and requested my side of tomatoes . After a conversation they told the prep person to prepare the tomato slices ....which I watched happen. The prep person places a SINGLE tomato on a skillet plate. They then seemingly noticed the skillet was dirty so they scratched at the spot and THEN took the tomato slice off and placed it on a clean? Plate. When they handed me that lonely tomato I went back to my table to grab my receipt and returned to counter and asked the person seemingly in charge? Is this a $2.79 "side " of tomatoes? I had to show him where I had in fact paid for the side order. " I didn't know you paid for a side " nope he didn't and they didn't ask me either . They dumped the slice in the trash (good since it had been nearby on the plate while they flicked off the old food )and handed me a new plate with 4 slices of tomatoes. I went back to my now stone cold breakfast. I have included pictures but it's hard to convey the magic of hash browns that are simultaneously raw and incinerated. Toast that is burned but was so cold the butter sat unmelted on top. All in all one of the worst breakfasts I have ever attempted to eat. Couple this with the coffee refill guy walking in a circle around the room without offering a refill to a single patron and I don't need to come back. read more

This place is my go to stop for a quick breakfast burrito! They use hash browns which a nice change from giant clumps of potatoes. They can be filling to even though they look a small they do have a lot in them. I usually go with the bacon one and the. Add a drink or hit the frys close by for an energy drink. The staff is always friendly and very quick, they always send out coupons so you should be able to get a nice little deal for whatever you are eating. Again I'd suggest the breakfast burrito. I've also had the burgers and omelette both were good and filling too. Over all I'd give this place a thumbs up and suggest you try it. I'll be back next time I am craving a burrito. read more
