I've had Farmer Boys a few times now in Riverside at this location and it is usually pretty good. One thing that I must say is that I have always had very pleasant interactions with the staff! They are all super friendly and genuine and that's not something you really see anymore in a drive-thru restaurant, so that was refreshing. In the past, the food has always been good. I usually get a cheeseburger with bacon and avocado. I really like this burger because the avocado is very fresh. I had their chili cheese fries and I thought they were pretty good! Definitely superior than some of the chili cheese fries that I have had at sit-down restaurants. The other night, I had the cheeseburger with avocado and bacon. It was pretty good, although the bacon wasn't crispy. I also ordered the 7-piece zucchini fries, but when I got home, I had seen that they gave me a bag of french fries with only 2 zucchini fries in them. I didn't think it was a big deal, but I was sort of bummed. I wanted a shake when I ordered, but they were all out of the ice cream, so no shake :( That super bummed me out because it was a big reason why I came. I have had the cookies n' cream shake before though and it was super good! I do have to say, that although they were out of shakes and my fries weren't correct, I REALLY was blown away by the genuineness of the staff. Alright. Ordered a Pancake Combo at 6:30 this morning so I had something to eat at work. Quick, easy, ready to go. Got to work, ate my bacon and eggs, started working on my pancakes. Halfway through I noticed a weird consistency in a bite of pancake. Took the piece out of my mouth and was horrified to find a piece of metal, or something of the sort, in my hand. I came to Farmer Boys and ordered the BLT combo and a large side of onion rings. The food came out fast and the workers were very nice. The onion rings were HUGE and delicious, and the BLT was very good but to make it better they should use a different type of bread - maybe a thick sourdough or toasted French bread. The past few times I've used the drive thru though the service was sub par and my order came out wrong. I always get the southwest salad and the 2/3 times I've went recently they give me grilled chicken when I ask for crispy chicken or crispy when I ask for grilled. Then the third time the salad came out correct but it seemed like they just pulled it out of the walk in cause it was so cold and the chicken was rubbery. All 3 times it was two younger girls. This was my first visit to Farmer Boys and I didn't know what to expect based on the mixed reviews. The food was fresh and served hot. My brother and I really enjoyed the food. His sourdough bread bowl was buttered and toasted giving his creamy clam chowder that extra something. His pastrami sandwich was piled high with meat and the bread was the right consistency, not too soft and not too chewy. My sourdough chicken avocado sandwich was tasty and although I noticed the grilled chicken breast was small in size compared to the entire sandwich it was quite filling. The standout in our entire meal was the zucchini. It came out piping hot with a thin coating of batter and not greasy at all! Probably one of the better fried zucchinis I've tried to date. The ranch dressing accompanying it was watery and nearly tasteless but since the zucchini was near perfect the dressing wasn't necessary. This restaurant is definitely a step above your typical fast food and IMO incomparable to D*nnys when it comes to quality. The costumer service however could use improving. I'm not certain if it were the acoustics or the employee's loud voice (or perhaps a combination of both) but instead of a nice peaceful meal we endured loud and obnoxious chattering from the front staff. Our cashier was friendly but I feel she could bring her voice down a notch (or ten) in consideration of the patrons. Came here yesterday because I was craving CLAM CHOWDER. Thanks to a special friend/sista (Jaymee), I came here for their delicious clam chowder. Since I had a ton of things to study for, I didn't bother going inside but rather drove by the drive through. The place is located in the K-Mart/Stater Bros. Plaza, which is fairly convenient for UCR students with a vehicle. The menu was pretty pricy-- I ended up getting a clam chowder and a chicken club sandwich, and my order came up to $9! WTH right?! Especially for fast food. But seriously, it was TOTALLY worth it. I got home and killed my clam chowder and chicken club sandwich and they were both amazing. The clam chowder had a lot of clams (obviously) and potatoes-- it was warm and very creamy! The only thing I regret is not dinning in and getting a bread bowl :( Nonetheless, it was amazing. As for the chicken club sandwich, it was simple, yet delicious. There are a TON of avocados-- so it is definitely a favorite in my book. Service was fast and the workers were very polite. First time at this location. Omelet came out thin and I was worried nothing was inside. Turns out there's very crumbled pieces inside and it's nice if you don't like chewing too much. My avocado was just ripe on top of the melty cheese. Wheat toast was on par with light butter-like grease inside and slight chewy to almost crispy. Coffee was little weak compared to local coffee shops, but drinkable. Service was friendly as one of the servers came over to pick up my plates and offered to bring me offered to refill my coffee. You know for a prepaid, get a number, wait for food to come out, eat, brings your finished plate & utensils to the designated area then go...this is a step up. Food was good but service shines. I told her that I didn't have time to wait and that I would just take the coffee, to which she hands me my bag of food and tells me "next time we don't have food for you. We don't do that." My experience wasn't so bad that I'd want to give this place a 3 but it wasn't good enough to give a 4 either so I stuck with the 3 star rating. Reason being is pretty simple, our cashier was obviously annoyed and although he wasn't rude, an employee must be able to keep a positive and welcoming attitude. I don't ask for a bend over backwards experience, just neutral friendly, that's all. The food was decent, it lacked freshness and flavor for the burgers and fries. Out of the 5 burgers ordered, 2 were made incorrectly, so that was a let down. We called about the mistake on our order and the manager Lupe handled it very well, I felt the apology genuine and the replacement offer fair. I sure appreciate the coupons and feeding me during the pandemic! There are a lot of young people working here and they are doing their best to make people happy. I came with a birthday deal and got a BOGO meal, which I decided to get the fish platter. My husband will eat fish but not any other meat- so much food it fed us three times!
