What an amazing setting and great staff. I was excited to finally get to try this lovely eatery on Auburn Folsom Road. Upon entering, I was struck by the beautiful display of exquisite wines and lovely tables. The patio seating even more stunning. The menu was intriguing and I settled on the mixed green salad with creamy red wine vinaigrette, shaved fennel and goat cheese crostini. I inquired about adding protein to my salad and was offered, grilled prawns, chicken, salmon or beef. Unfortunately I chose the chicken. When my order arrived, I should have sent it back because the chicken was raw. Perhaps it was leftover pieces of a thigh near the bone and only looked undercooked. One bite and I discovered it had no flavor. Neither did the promising vinaigrette. The shaved fennel was also tasteless. Fortunately the crostini was yummy. I ended up taking most of it home, cooking the chicken and giving it to my dog. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing as I saw lovely salmon blts and beautiful glasses of whit wine of rather hefty pours. Perhaps I should have sent it back, but with restaurants struggling, I hated to be a bother. Perhaps I'll try again but not anytime soon. read more

Farmhaus is a great, hidden away little gem in Granite Bay. We've eaten here a few times and enjoyed it enough that we chose to take the family there for Father's Day. It was a fairly fixed menu with a few different entree options. Between our party we ordered the special eggs Benedict and the French toast. They started us off with a delicious pastry plate, and finished the visit with a plate of cookies and macaroons. From the get go, everything was absolutely delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable, engaging and did a great job serving us. I would highly recommend this place for brunch or breakfast. It's a great atmosphere and they have a cool little patio that just makes you feel like you've been whisked away to another country. Bravo! read more

Food was fantastic, our waitress was fantastic, but the service and demeanor of the hostess was disappointing. She did not appear to care how we felt or what we wanted when we very politely asked if it were possible to be seated outside. We were not aware or told that we had to request this "privilege" when we called to make a reservation. As we sat in a corner inside a small and extremely loud dining room we watched nearly every other patron that came in after us be seated outside. This nearly ruined our birthday outing. I would not eat here again based on this experience. It's just not that special. read more

Another incredible meal! This is our go to restaurant when friends are visiting or we just want to treat ourselves to a wonderful meal. Food is EXCELLENT!! No question! Come here to treat your palette with all their amazing fresh options!! Loved their sizzling shrimp and flatbread..pastrami was delicious but too much mustard (they forgot to put it on the side), and the Caesar salad tasted good but wasn't made fresh..was a little soggy..but the potential of it was looking promising! As for their service and friendly customer service..this isn't the place for good service. The service was sub-par. The servers weren't very friendly and to be honest didn't even give a smile. Not sure if it's not a good establishment to work for or if they were all (3 of them) having a bad day. Example..I mentioned it was my friends 40th today and the lady didn't even say Happy Birthday or acknowledge the occasion. We were excited to try this place and the food was great but the overall experience was so so. Not sure if we would come back...and would prob not recommend it to others in our neighborhood of Granite Bay. Maybe others have had better experiences but ours wasn't very good. read more

Pros: Great service, great drinks, great wine list Cons: Very limited menu, and by 7p they were already out of 2 things (on a menu of like 6 things) Expensive for what you get. Portions were rather small for main course. Chicken dish was like $36 for 2 pieces, which actually was like 1/2 a breast with a small amount of veggies. Look, it tasted awesome - but not worth $36. Both people who had this were hungry later. Noisy - it's just a noisy place. If you bring elders in, it could be an issues. I get the pandemic challenges but I do have to question to prices. read more

This place has a sweet, casual refreshing energy and ambience especially outdoors. We never felt rushed despite the place being crowded and full for dinner service. We ordered several dishes, of which I tried the vegetarian ones - burrata, house bread, cheese plate and risotto. All were fresh, flavorful and one could taste seasonal freshness in each dish. I wanted to really like this place as it has a great location and lots of potential. Went there on a Sat afternoon for lunch. They probably have a different dinner menu. As a vegetarian, I saw too few (if any options) except for salads. Had one of the salads and a bowl. They really could do better for what gets charged for these dishes. They bowl really had 2 table spoons of rice. They do have a nice ambiance to sit outside. Not sure I'll be visiting again until there are better options on the menu. Probably better options for meat eaters. Felt overpriced to me for the area where there are many other great options. read more

What a great dining experience my family and I had here tonight, dining alfresco on their beautiful, quaint back patio. I've eaten lunch here once, and it was very good, but dinner here is truly a sublime experience! You are greeted by happy staff from the moment you walk into this tiny gem of a restaurant, and the overall vibe is very welcoming. You can instantly tell you are in for a memorable, delicious experience from the get go. Their menu is small and changes often, but it has a great balance of dishes that should please all. I was very tempted to order a delicious sounding beef dish, but I thought I'd go outside my normal food box and order the chicken pot roast, which intrigued me, because I've never heard of that dish anywhere before. Omg, the BEST chicken dish I've ever eaten in my life! It was so succulent, flavorful and the perfect portion size. I literally took my time eating it--you can't eat something this amazing quickly! The bread and cheese platter was scrumptious as well and our bread pudding desert was sublime! I must also add that their wait staff and chefs are top notch and the service was impeccable. We even got to complement the amazing chef on our way out! Farmhaus has the epic dining experience down to a pat. We loved the environment. If they added white table cloths, this place would still not be pretentious. We loved the charm and comfortable ambiance of this little gem. We sat at the bar, and we felt felt very comfy. Great wine list. We started with the shrimp and it was tasty. A bit on the salty side. I wish I ordered some bread to balance the dish, but I didn't want to spend $13 for carbs that I probably wouldn't finish. Next - The Caesar salad was more cheese than actual lettuce - which my husband absolutely loved. We had the hand cut fettuccine with bolognese- since I don't typically make bolognese at home. It was lip smacking good. We ended with the Cookie for dessert. It was yummy, I wish it was served right out of the oven - I'm picky that way. Hey, I gotta make the calories worth it. My husband, on the other just inhaled the cookie. I don't like to over order or waste food. And this was our first time at Farmhaus, did we ordered one of everything and shared. I didn't realize that portions were smaller than a typical restaurant. Which I don't mind because the quality was higher and, for us, worth it. Next time I'll order my own starter and main dish. We just had 26 guests for our mother's 101st birthday lunch celebration in the house behind the restaurant. It is a beautiful room for a party. Morgan, the event coordinator, was spectacular. We worked with her to develop a set menu. She was professional, service oriented and anticipated all our needs--all the while being warm-hearted and kind. The food was outstanding. The Hausburger, pastrami sandwich, Haus bowl and salmon Caesar salad received many positive comments from our guests. Everybody loved the food and the setting! Came here for lunch on a Wednesday around 1, and it was packed! So busy that people were double parked in the lot and we got the last table. The place is really cute inside, homey and rustic with a really friendly vibe. The menu is nice and small, with salads and sandwiches. I looked no further than the house smoked pastrami that everyone else was having. I don't normally eat beef but I made an exception this time. It was so yummy and worth it. I couldn't finish it but it was still tasty two days later. One star off for the noise level. It was so loud when full it almost hurt. I think they could benefit from some sound dampening. read more

A family friend told me about Farmhaus - it's in an area of town that I wouldn't normally go to, but she said it was so cute and so good that I had to go! Farmhaus is so adorable on the inside - a little small, but one of the cutest restaurants ever. Before we sat down, I walked outside to check out the patio and it's HUGE! I would love to come back on a day where we can sit outside. I went with the Little Gem salad and the Herbed Goat Cheese Crostini and my sister got the BCH Sandwich. The salad was so refreshing and light and was the perfect size - not giant like some salads that you can get nowadays. The Goat Cheese Crostini was served with an artichoke tapenade that I could have just had a jar of. I took a bite of the BCH Sandwich and it had a little olive tapenade on it as well - yum! I'm definitely planning on coming back and would love to order a coffee drink from here - they have a full espresso bar and all of the coffee that came out looked AMAZING. read more

Pricey but great tasting food for special occasion. If you are a big eater you might want to eat something before heading out to the restaurant. Acoustics aren't great. The building would do great ambiance wise if they could add something to the ceiling to dampen the noise. If you are into shouting at each other during a romantic special occasion dinner this is your go to place. I want to love this place because it is so charming. It's truly a fairytale location reminiscent of Europe. However, I have a pretty long list of frustrations. My daughter and I came here for lunch the Saturday before Mother's Day. It was quite warm, but we sat outside because of the ambiance. If you sit inside (as we have on several occasions), it's crowded and very noisy. And I mean NOISY, to the point where you can't hold a conversation. It was moderately busy, but no wait. They seemed to have enough staff, but we got very little service. Our original server who took our order was apparently MIA until she brought us the tab. Someone else filled in but no refills on the tea and no extra bread slices that my daughter requested. Reminds me of service in the Bahamas- they say "Yes, Mum" but you never get it. They did have a bridal shower going on in a private room with about 20 ladies, but staff didn't seem taxed. The menu is very limited and they don't serve cocktails. Once we got the food, it was just so- so. Not much meat on my steak sandwich, either. There are so many other places to go in this area for a lovely meal. I am not convinced that this is one of them. Their prices are too high for a mediocre experience. I'm afraid I've given it my last chance. read more

My wife took me here last year right before Covid and wish I would've taken more pics but this was a surprise after a long couple weeks traveling so it was more about the relaxation and just time together. After picking me up from the airport and wanting to just go home she informs me that we have dinner plans and after a few minutes complaining and a gentle please "shut up" look from her I was all in...Farmhaus is tucked away in Granite Bay in an older set of houses on the same property. On the night in question I was really glad that my wife made reservations because the wait was over an hour on a Thursday night. We got seated at a great table outside but there were at the time inside options as well, but why we live in California and outside is usually always better. For a starter my wife already arranged to have a bottle of Frank Family Cabernet opened and breathing for the table....if you haven't had this wine it's absolutely one of our favorites. We started off with the Baked Brie which consists of of course Brie, persimmon and apple compote, roasted pistachios served with a warm baguette. First this was so delicious and the compote was next level delicious. Next the baby kale salad with fennel, apple, blue cheese, candied walnuts with maple vinaigrette dressing. So simple but so delicious and I could eat a whole bowl of those candied walnuts they were so delicious. For dinner my wife had the seared scallops which she raved about her favorite part was not only the perfectly cooked scallops but the Meyer lemon brown butter sauce was so delicious that I suck a taste with some left over bread for the Brie. For me I had the steak special perfectly cooked medium rare with all root veggies. I have eaten tons of steak all over the country and beyond and this was an awesome steak. The flavors simple salt and pepper but the searing and resting you could tell was done absolutely to my loving....sorry no room for dessert on this trip but did sneak in a affogato which is basically vanilla ice cream scoop with espresso poured over. If you have never tried on of these then put it on your bucket list. I know times are different right now and seed that they are doing outdoor and dining pick up,. This place has gone downhill faster than Franz Klammer. They use to have a great menu and excellent food. Something changed about a year ago...all for the bad. Menu is terrible now. Food is awful. Use to have two great dishes..one was a Chipino type entree and another was a wonderful chicken breast item. Both are not on the menu anymore replaced with pedestrian entrees. Recently went there and it was freezing inside. Patrons were all wearing their coats during dinner. Yikes...Strong pass on this has been place. read more
