Maybe 3.5 stars. The food is 3 stars for sure, nothing is special, nothing is that great. The food is just okay. Service is 4 stars, and environment is 5 stars. It's a nice place to go for breakfast if in the area. They have outdoor and indoor seating and don't need any reservations, I like to sit outside. If you don't see a server to seat you, just sit yourself down at a table and a server will get to you. It's usually very quiet except for the sounds of the driving range nearby. I usually just go because there is no wait and it's just a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Go to Tanaka Farms afterwards to visit the farm and go strawberry picking! read more

I love this place! Open to the public and there is never a wait. There is a large outdoor patio with spacious seating. Small dining room and small bar. Great, quick service. C.J. was our server today for lunch. He was extremely polite and attentive to our party of 8. Tuna melt is my favorite! Fries are excellent here too. They have regular or sweet potato. Other delicious lunch items are the club sandwich and the waldorf salad. Hold your breath if you have to use the bathroom. They are always immaculately clean but there is a strong odor. I recommend coming here for lunch and sitting outside. There are shaded umbrellas, the weather is always great, and it's very relaxing and peaceful. read more

This place reminds me of an old plantation with its huge covered patio overlooking a driving range. My wife and I find its food items well prepared and live the fruit option in place of French fries ( which are not bad either). The staff are friendly and occasionally forgetful about getting you items like sweetener for your iced tea. On a warm summer day with a cool breeze blowing through the patio, I wish there is a hammock for me to nap in. I have never tried having dinner here but the menu looked very promising and priced right. Hopefully , I will get a chance when the pandemic is over since it is not serving dinner now because of the lack of demand, The place does get very noisy at times from the exuberance of its guests, In summary, you are practically enjoying a country club experience at the price set by a mid-level restaurant. read more

The French toast I got was delicious! I also got a side of strawberries! You can't come here without trying the strawberries. They were perfectly sweet. We got here at 10am didn't get our food till like 11:15. I understand they had a large group before we were served. At least inform us how long is the wait on food or just be on point refilling the coffee. Other than that breakfast was delicious. I like it because they were next door to the farm and its hidden! I went there with my daughter last Saturday for breakfast. It was busy and we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. We then waited another 10 minutes to get the menus. And then we waited another 15 minutes until our order was taken. About 15 minutes passed, and the table in front of us, which had a party of 8, got up and left. The staff separated the two tables, cleaned them and shortly after sat a couple on one of the tables. Another 10 minutes passed and they sat another couple on the other table. By now, I had run out of coffee and the waiter was nowhere in sight, and we had waited 50 minutes since we were seated. But I understood and was patient... it was Saturday, the place was busy and buzzing with activity. BUT... then the food for the table in front of us came out; yes, the one that sat 15 minutes after us. And then the food for the other table came out, the one that sat 25 minutes after us. I called the waiter and pointed this out to him. He said "let me check" and run off. We waited 15 minutes, the waiter came out and said that "the stupid kitchen had lost our order and was just starting it now." I was floored. At this point, we had been sitting for 1 hour and 5 minutes and I had been out of coffee for most of that time. The waiter came 10 minutes later and brought us the stack of pancakes, and said the omelette is coming soon. We shared the pancakes and I must say, they were pure slop. Uncooked in the middle, yet mushy and the taste was too heavy of flour. After another 15 minutes, I got up, walked all through the restaurant, found our waiter, and told him to cancel the omelette because we had to go. I asked he bring us the check. After 1 hour and 30 minutes, we really had to go. Besides, our "breakfast" had been ruined now that we had ingested the pancake slop. I was not happy at all. The waiter took another 5 minutes to bring us the check, he said: "Sorry, sorry, I have taken the coffee and orange juice out." I asked him to bring the manager by. He said the manager was not in. I guess they don't know the concept of "assistant manager" or "acting manager." I mean, the place is big and handles a lot of customers. Some kind of management should probably be available at all times. But that's not for me to determine. I asked the waiter for the manager's name. He told me it was "Tom." I asked, "Tom what?" He said, "I don't know, let me get his business card." I pulled my phone out and took a picture of the ticket. The waiter saw me doing it. Then another server brought us the omelette. I almost picked it up and threw it back at him. Our waiter returned and said he "couldn't find a business card for the manager because they had not been delivered by the print shop yet." I just laughed. I am a business owner myself. I know it is difficult to keep it all together and have a smooth-running operation and serve great food at the same time. He also said: "This was really bad, I am sorry, you don't have to pay anything," and took the ticket away. This place fails miserably in ALL aspects of business and food service. The waiter did his best, he obviously lacks training in handling problem situations. He tried. I give him a pass. But management? Nope. BUT, the golf course scenery is definitely nice. This review is only for the worst hostess ever named Patty. We were a large group and she wasn't able to sit us all at one table. We were confused and she kept yelling at us to decide or wait outside. We decided to split into two tables and she said she could fit 12 people outside. Half of us went outside, and sat down then she comes and asked us ( yelling) to move inside. We said we wanted to sit outside cause she said she could fit 12 but she kept yelling and saying it's gonna be a while to get a server!!! She didn't bother to give us menus! I found a server and she served us immediately! As soon as the table next to us left, patty sat another group. The group was all white so we could only assume that was the reason she was denying to serve us. She was the most disrespectful hostess I had ever seen. read more

Menu is super super basic...grilled cheese, french dip, ....so I went with the completely safe chicken pesto panini. Not great: dried up chicken, mustard. Bleh. The side "fresh" fruit is anything but. Pretty sad fruit, shriveled up strawberries right next to a strawberry farm. Can kind of gauge a place by their lemonade. Set in the middle of a golf course is this dinner that kind of reminds me of Knott's Berry Farm, for it's decor and quality of food served. It seems this is a golfer's secret hide-out, as it is off the beaten path of Irvine, and not a college student to be seen in sight. The food is mostly breakfast and lunch cuisine, which matches the golfer's schedule to a tee! The food is Americana, with the typical eggs and bacon and ham; they ran out of sausage! I had a burrito, which tasted more gringo than mexican, so I guess they ran out of chorizo as well. My wife had the eggs, ham and pancakes, which was decent, but nothing special. All in all, I'll let the golfer's keep their secret and will try more of the other restaurants in Irvine, as there are soo many nice places to choose from. If I were a golfer, I guess this is convenient, but I would not drive out of the way to come here; there's always Knotts, which is my favorite for breakfast, and half as far! read more

This place is not the same. Service was slow but we've come to expect that during COVID. Had to ask for things multiple times. I didn't get what I ordered. Was told to "keep it" and they would bring correct order. No one ever did. Drink refills were hard to come by. The food has gone downhill. Normally I give this place a 5 but after today I was pretty shocked and disappointed with the service and food. Today was a 0 to the left! We waited 50 min to sit which is fine but the server we got was not fit to even be working. She was miserable and could not handle simple tasks like getting water. No forks or napkins, bad attitude, waited over an hour to get food and it was all cold. Everyone who ordered chicken got sick and when we asked another server to check on our order he responded " sorry, I am not your server" Thank goodness for Brigette! The only server who actually took ownership and tried to help us and was seriously apologetic for Klarissa's attitude and performance. We are super chill customers and visit here weekly but this was unacceptable. We eat out a lot and this is literally the first time I have ever complained. Go here for the views, not so much for the food which is totally average. I'm reviewing for the benefit of those having a long-awaited actual meal out, so I decided to be thorough in my review. (I'm a local even though my profile says "San Francisco"?) Our first breakfast outing in over a year, we decided to try the Farmhouse Grill on the Saturday before Easter, just us as a couple, in order to avoid the Sunday crowd. The day and the views were gorgeous (as expected) and the staff was friendly, though we had to flag a server down after the initial "take-any-table" (aka we'll get to you sooner or later) seating. We ordered Mimosas which turned out to be the only thing that made me say, "Ah, this tastes really good." Each of us ordered Eggs Benedict because we were in the mood for a little indulgence; I asked for fruit instead of potatoes. Also a side of "Fresh Strawberries' -- after all, we're at Strawberry Farms. The Benedicts were totally average, nothing about them stood out at all. But at least they were served hot. The fruit on my plate was sad, basically the butts of the tasteless melon, a tired strawberry, but the pineapple was tasty. House potatoes on my companion's plate were also totally average, basically frozen potato cubes fried with no embellishment whatsoever. Then the strawberries...sigh. The restaurant at Strawberry Farms seriously needs to up its strawberry game! Some of the best strawberries in the State are right next door at Tanaka Farms -- but that's definitely not what was served. The strawberries I get from parking-lot stands are ten times better than these. Frankly, I would not have served these berries to a guest (see picture). Presentation overall was, again, not horrible but unremarkable bordering on poor. As we took the back path out to the parking lot, we enjoyed the lovely garden paths and plants. There is a large barn structure which is probably used for large events such as weddings. Unfortunately, after the just-okay meal we had today, I would not be encouraged to book a special event here. I saw some of the lunch plates coming out and they looked okay, but basic. I'm sure it's a great place for hungry golfers to grab a sandwich and a beer or drink. If you're okay with average food with great views, this place is fine. read more

Last week I met my son at the Farmhouse for lunch. Chef and owner, Richard Mead has created a wonderful menu. My son and I had the RG burger. Our burgers were cooked to a perfect Med-Rare, as we requested. The smoke flavored ketchup added an extra unique flavor to the burger and house made fries. Yum! I can only hope that Chef Mead will start a Sunday brunch menu and a wine and food pairing menu as he did at the Canyon! We went on a Tuesday and the place was packed. This restaurant is located at the Strawberry Farms golf course. The setting is quaint and secluded. I like the large barn outside. The inside of the restaurant is adorned in farmhouse decor. Although the bar was not open prior to our 6 AM tee time, the manager kindly accommodated our group's request for coffee and Bailey's. We played our round of golf and then stopped in to eat. The place is busy for Friday at lunchtime; mainly groups of non-golfers (apparently not just a 19th hole). We ordered the chicken tenders, which were good and served very hot with a few French fries on the side. They looked like fish and chips because the tenders are battered like fried fish. They tasted pretty bland and the honey-mustard sauce tasted a little like sweetened mayonnaise. I love that they serve strawberries; they were delicious and perfectly in-season. I love strawberries! Service was good. Bathrooms were in excellent condition, very clean and fresh. Food is priced slightly high for the return, which is basically an average food/service/ambiance/decor experience. read more

My second visit and we were not disappointed. Ambience is open, airy and quite pleasant. Menu is not extensive but entrees were very nicely prepared and served hot. Service was excellent. For lunch we had tuna melt and grilled Ruben sandwiches, both fresh and tasty. Fruit side was best I've had in years, ample and fresh, not the typical few little mealy pieces served in many restaurants. We'll definitely be back. Prior visit was for breakfast. Again, fresh and well prepared omelette dishes. This will be a regular stop for us! read more
