While this wasn't my first choice for breakfast today it certainly did not disappoint! The portions were huge and everyone left satisfied. There was about a 25 Min wait but I had called ahead to confirm so I was aware. There's plenty of shops to browse in while you wait as you get a pager. I didn't take any pix of my food but I had the farmers omelet (some Thing to that effect -ham, onions , green peppers). My kids ate all of their food as well. No complaining which can be unusual. We had a group of 10 and enjoyed the meal. They give you a card to punch and after I think it was $60 you got $10 off next purchase. Another reason to come back in town :) only complaint was it was hot inside. Normally I am freezing but today I was sweating. Even my husband noticed and commented when we left. Service was great. The food, unfortunately, was just kind of so-so for me. I had the salad bar and a Spanish omelette. The salad bar was fine, but nothing particularly noteworthy one way or the other. Decent but not amazing. The Spanish omelette was well prepared. It was fluffy with melty cheese and the salsa they used was quite tasty. The one thing I will give this place credit for is that their menu is more diverse than most of the other restaurants in the area. That is to say, you can get food that isn't smoked, fried, or swimming in carbs. So hats off for that. Everyone in our family loved this place, we came back and ate here twice! We did have to wait quite a long time but shopped the near by shops. Breakfast was great and so was the lunch. Came in for breakfast this morning and were sat quickly. A group came in about 5-10 minutes after us and were served immediately while we still waiting to be offered drinks. We waited a little longer and nobody ever came to our table. We left. Disappointing. read more

Another let down as I had high hopes for this place. Their most popular dish the chicken fried steak is what I came for. The standard for chicken fried steaks includes at least 6 ounces of eye of round or sirloin breaded with a nice surface area. This one here failed miserably. The only good thing I have to say was the price, it happened to be on special for $8.99 today. The drinks come in a mason jar and are advertised at a quart for $2.89. It is bit high but this is common restaurant practice to have a 100% profit on drinks. I also wasn't happy that the couple next to us were seated after us and got drink orders and food before us. I don't know why the waiter wasn't aware of this or he consciously did this. Overall the place is overrated and not sure why people think this a great place??? read more

The homemade food was so good, our friend said they were best fest green beans he'd ever had. The desserts were just like my grandma made. Where else can you get a root beer float that requires two large mason jars? Plus the blackberry cobbler was warm and had ice cream on top. Yum! read more

We are here for breakfast so we did not get a chance to try their famous blackberry cobbler. My wife decided to have the country fried steak breakfast their house special and it was great. It was close to lunchtime so I decided to have the chicken and dumplings. I chose mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans it was surprisingly well seasoned and I was given fresh green beans as a side. The portion sizes were huge and the atmosphere is everything you would expect from a family owned restaurant in a historic downtown area. We stumbled upon this restaurant before exploring Branson Landing and man were we disappointed! We ordered the biscuit & gravy, pancakes, house salad, & chicken strips. I can't really tell you how much of the food tasted because we were grossed out before really even beginning. There was a long hair cooked right into the biscuit, and another hair at the edge of the gravy bowl. Just writing about it now makes my stomach churn. The waitress went and brought me another biscuit but that was it. No apologies- no refunds, no meals, management coming over, nada! After that we didn't eat much but did let our little one finish his breakfast. The tables are very close together so this isn't the place for you if you or your family are wanting to social distance. The food was amazing. But in reading former reviews we decided to call to see how long the wait would be. They said that the breakfast crowd and lunch crowd had already cleared out so there should be no wait. We arrived 10 minutes later, but ended up having to wait about 45 minutes. When we sat down to eat, we ordered as quickly as we could as we had an appointment an hour and a half later. Then it took about 45 minutes to get our food. We didn't have time to enjoy the delicious food. We were regretting our decision and wished we had picked up fast food instead. The food was amazing. The waiters were really hurrying fast and trying hard. But I suggest if you want to go, go when you have plenty of time and are not in a hurry. You will enjoy it much more, and it will be a much more positive time for you. read more

We read about this place on a travel page and decided to check it out. Had a short wait to get in and were seated at a 4 top in the back. Menu had a variety of options from breakfast to dinner choices. Decided on the half fried chicken with mashed potatoes and corn. My chicken was crispy juicy and filled with flavor. My daughter devoured the leg and some of the thigh. My wife ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and fried okra. She did not share but said it was very tender and had good flavor. Bottom line up front: Highly recommended. We went twice, once our first night in Branson because we were looking for somewhere close by in "old town" Branson to eat, and the second time because it was so good the first time. My wife got a sausage omelet and I got country ham the first visit and everything was spot on. The ham was as good as any I've had in a while. It was all so good we didn't think about pictures. We got the blackberry cobbler to go and it was amazing. Our second trip, my wife got the fried chicken and I got chicken and dumplings, both excellent. The Farmhouse Restaurant in GOOD! It is always GOOD. We are from Colorado, but have been coming here for years. We have never had anything in this restaurant that is not GOOD. We love the owner and the waitstaff is always nice and attentive. We are visiting here right now and have been there twice and are going back again this evening.... because their food is just plain GOOD! To the person who complained that the waitstaff is not wearing masks.... Think how silly that sounds and how silly it is. You probably should be staying at home and eating at home if you are concerned. This restaurant is very clean as always. read more

Excellent food in a comfy atmosphere. We were visiting from OKC and wanted some good country style food. I recommend the veggie beef soup with a dash of tabasco- YUM! Buffalo chicken fingers were huge and doused with a good amount of sauce. It seems like a lot of places don't serve them that way. Okra and baked beans to die for. Huge biscuit and yummy gravy. We were both very pleased with our meals and had lots of leftovers. The servers are super nice, but could be a little less chatty with each other and perhaps focus on their tables. I waited a few minutes before I had to interrupt their conversation so we could order. But our server, Saryna, was excellent and very amicable. My husband really enjoyed talking with her. read more

Wait staff polite, time of food out of the kitchen... poor and not busy 4:30 pm Monday. Food... I had beef open faced with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese.... Roast beef ,warm at best,gravy on potatoes had a skin on it, probably sat in window too long.
