I am very disappointed in the customer service. I was really looking forward to getting a quote and hiring Faro's. My sister was also looking to get work on her floors in Hercules and I was going to refer them to her. First, I called Aurora and left a voicemail and never got a call back. I really wanted to hire them because they're woman owned, based in Oakland, Latino, and I saw pics of their work which looks amazing. So, I called again. Aurora answered and asked if we'd spoken on the phone already, which we hadn't. We went ahead and scheduled a consultation and instead of setting a time that worked best for us, she said "we'll call you an hour before we can head over after 12pm." Which was fine because I was not available in the morning (she suggested 8am and it did not work for me). Fabian came over and was very polite, quick, and to the point. No problem. Then, Aurora asked for my email address and I provided it but never got a proposal. Again, I reached out and asked if she could send it as soon as possible. I never got it. Not even a response. I understand people are busy, or just not interested in picking up the job for whatever reason. I had one contractor be honest and say they were not interested in the job due to XYZ. I can respect that, no harm no foul. I feel that getting ghosted was just unprofessional and the experience was disheartening overall trying to get a quote. I've since found someone, Hao at HD flooring. Complete 360. Highly recommend. Overall, Fabian and Aurora were polite when we did speak, and there were no issues there. The biggest improvement would be communication, and follow through. I cannot rate their work given I did not get the service. read more

Faro did beautiful work on a huge last minute job. We were needing our floors done before we moved into the home, only about 3 weeks away, and Faro was able to get it done so quick. We asked for an estimate and they came out that same day, and when we explained our rush needs they were able to start the job within the next week! They gave us great advice for what they recommended for the job. They estimated a 5 day job and completed in 4. They were very well communicable and extremely accommodating. We have never had this work done before, but it seemed to be fairly priced for the amazing service and outcome. They removed old carpet and vinyl, patched two corners, refinished nearly the entire home, and installed vinyl in our kitchen. We are more than happy with the outcome. When it came time to stain the repaired sections, the new can of stain didn't match the existing floors. He tinkered with different mixes until he found a close match. Fabian had salvaged surplus pieces of the rare red oak flooring that's no longer available from some other jobs he had done. So he was able to use some of that to put some flooring in a threshold leading to our hallway, which never had the original hardwood floor on it. The floors look really good in my 1940's house! I'm very satisfied with how they turned out. Can't wait to see the wood age over time. It was definitely worth the investment for my house. There were some challenges along the way - the wood had to get bleached because there were dark stains beneath the original stain - and after the bleach + stain, it ended up being lighter than I wanted, but Fabian was helpful and able to solve the problem with a golden oak oil stain, and explained that wood would darken 20% after they applied the final stain. I'm glad I trusted him because he was right. Aurora and Fabian are nice reliable people. However I am taking off one star because towards the end it was difficult to get a response from them as I was not sure if they were finished with the job and if I could walk on the floor or not. I texted both multiple times. Aurora finally responded. It would have been nice to get a final response from Fabian but I understand how busy he is. They also left some of the golden oak oil stains on the trim of the baseboard in the living and two bedrooms but my bf and I will paint it any way so we didn't ask them to fix it. Overall great experience and would highly recommend. read more

We were in the process of installing some cabinets for a small room to turn it into a study. As the cabinet folks were putting thigns in, I asked them to rip up the carpet where the cabinets would sit on the floor. They mentioned that below the carpet was hard wood flooring like the rest of the house. However it was pretty old and had been patched in places with 8 inch sections of wood. They suggested we contact Faro, and see if they could repair the patches and finish the floor. We contacted Fabian, and he was able to have folks out within a couple days. It took about a day to repair the floor and put down the first coat of finish. After 3 days and a second coat the floor was done. Faro was quite affordable, quick to respond, and did a very good job. We're planing on asking them to do two more bedrooms later this year. Sadly I didn't get a before shot, but you can see the after. read more

Fabian the owner came in my shop one day for a sandwich and lunch one day and I saw him wearing his company shirt and I began speaking with him about my current LVT floor that was beginning to pop up and have disconnected panels because of the high traffic and weight of the delivery carts from vendors. I told him about an inquiry I was given by empire floors and how they said I would have to do a glue down of tiles and it would be a 2-3 day job, and I couldn't afford to close for that many business days. Fabian told me a glue down wouldn't be necessary because f the right materials were chosen and that he could get the job done in less than 2 days, and his crew would work overnight if need be. So I decided to go Faro floors as his and his wife's service was already honest and fair. They also communicated everything very well to me. Fast forward to the day of, the crew came in after we closed shop on a Saturday at 5PM. They moved coolers as they worked, I didn't lift a finger. The demo, and install was done my 9PM. They left the store spotless and no exerts clean up on my part had to be done. The tiles they installed were a commercial grade 6mm thickness that can withstand the force and impact of heavy deliveries and foot traffic. 100% satisfied and will use and refer them in the future! read more
