Wife was in the mood for some Peruvian food and decided to give this local spot a try. Although we drive by all the time today was our first time. They've been open for 39 years and really we had to kick ourself afterwards for not coming sooner. The restaurant is right on Coral Way. There is street parking but also they have a parking lot in the back. The inside is very cozy. They have TVs playing local games but without the sound so as to not interfere with your conversation. It was a Tuesday night and they had several tables going when we came in which was a good sign. We were greeted immediately upon entering. They have a nice selection of wine but we opted for a glass of wine and a Peruvian beer, called Cusqueña, which paired perfect with my meal. For starters we went with what we consider part of the staples of Peruvian cuisine, Ceviche Mixto and Papa a la Huancaina. Both were amazing. The ceviche was perfectly balanced. It had just the right amount of acidity without overpowering the fish. We asked for the spice to be on the side but when added it gives that perfect kick. The Papa a la Huancaina, I mean I would eat sheet rock if it had that sauce on it. It's so creamy and just the right amount of tang. We immediately said no to taking of our the plates just so we could soak up the remaining sauce with our bread. For entrees, we went with Jalea and the Pollo Saltado. The Jalea, which is really an appetizer meant for sharing except I wasn't sharing, was fried just right. It had a heaping amount of calamari, fish, shrimp and mussels along with Yuca fries. Yes everything is fried but it was fried just right. It wasn't oily or over done and the portion was insane. My wife enjoyed her Pollo Saltado, which is a variation of the traditional Lomo Saltado. It looked and tasted great. The only suggestion would be to have more sauce but otherwise it was on point. For dessert we tried both the Dulce de Lucuma and Bavarois. You can't go wrong with either but the Bavarois surprised me with how light and fluffy it was. It was like an airy merengue with peach bits and a sweet cream sauce. It was heavenly. But truly what made our experience even better was the service. Renzo provided stellar service from beginning to end. Not only was he great at answering all our questions and accommodating for all our special requests but was on point with timing on waiting till we were done with apps before firing our dishes. It dawned on me that although its great to visit hot and new places it shouldnt be at the expense of forgetting those that have been around and have figured out what it takes. Like I said in the beginning, they've been around for 39 years. There is a reason why, because they focus on the foundations of a good restaurant Food and Service. Definitely put them on your list of must try for great Peruvian food.

I've been to this spot years ago and was exited to try it out again. Staff was super friendly and accommodating to myself and my wheelchair friend. I ordered a Riesling while I waited for my other guests and anxiously awaited the fresh bread. Waiter was very attentive and gave good suggestions when asked. I had the ceviche which was very small for an entree, but non the less it was delicious. My friends also enjoyed their food. I'd def come back because of how nice staff was and to try other menu items! only issue for someone in a chair is parking.

We went to Farolito this past Saturday afternoon to celebrate my Dad's Birthday. He loves Peruvian food and I had heard good things about this place. We were a party of 10 so I called the day prior and they happily set up a table for our group. The restaurant was very quaintly decorated with bottles of wine everywhere and artwork on the walls. From the time we entered the service was excellent. There were only two other tables accepted at that time and so we had two (2) servers standing by and waiting on us the whole time. While we waited for members of our party to arrive my wife asked the waiter if they had Sangria. While it wasn't on the menu, he happily said "I can make that for you. Would you like a pitcher for the table?". And that was the theme of the day. Very polite and friendly service and smiles all around. The food was really good too (see the pics!). We had a Jalea Mixta as an appetizer. It was so big that all 10 people ended up splitting it as the sole appetizer! Everyone in our party seemed to order something different, mostly seafood but a beef and a chicken dish as well. The seafood dishes included two different Ceviches, Fried fish and seafood stews. Everyone really enjoyed their food. For drinks the entire table ended up having the Sangria (or water) but the wine selection was pretty vast for a restaurant that size. Only my daughter had dessert (chocolate ice cream) and she liked it. But a few of us had Cuban Espressos and 'Cortaditos'. All in all, we really enjoyed our visit and we will be back! Kudos again on the Service! Our Chilean waiter - Luis, was awesome!!!

Very nice little Peruvian find. In the mood for some Lomo Saltado and came across Faralito. Nice little restaurant in the Brickell area. We started off with an order of mixed ceviche which was excellent. Ordered the Lomo Saltado and it was equally good. Service was great. If you are looking for a nice little spot for Peruvian, take a look at Faralito.

The restaurant sits next to the Coconut Grove marina, and is accessible by land or sea. The atmosphere always feels like you're on a Caribbean vacation. Our server was Iria and she was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu and perfectly attendant. She wasn't hovering over us but checked on us enough where we were perfectly taken care of. We started with an order of the peel & eat shrimp. This is seasoned with old bay and it was delicious; only complaint is they weren't cleaned very well, several of them were cut open but the "vein" was still very present. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, probably should give 3 but the rest really made up for it. For the main courses my bf had the seafood pasta which he said was good, although the sauce was a bit plain (he described it as having a ragu flavor). I had the Baja tacos at his suggestion and boy was it a good recommendation. It comes with 3 tacos and they are packed with fish. They were absolutely delicious. The tacos also come with a small side of elote which had a strong citrus flavor, absolutely delicious. All in all, I don't know why we don't come here more often but we will. Monty's should always be an option when the weather is right.

We just got off our 7-night cruise on Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas this morning and pick up a car from the airport to meet up with Brian for lunch before our flight home. He suggested Monty's since he has been here a couple of times. The place is huge and there was already a line before they even opened at 11:30 am! They have a live band that started playing right away so it made our meals more enjoyable. I didn't get a chance to snap pictures since we all started eating as soon as the food came. We shared appetizers - Gator Bites, very tender and flavorful! I highly recommend! The Yucca Fries (We've only had them in Sanc Juan) were so good! A must try, if you haven't had them. The Crispy Crab Cake Bites were utterly delicious! Main dish - I had the Grouper with mango salsa, black beans and rice. It was a good portion and was cooked perfectly. It paired nicely with the mango salsa. Chris raved about the Seafood ceviche! It was fresh with tons of fish, shrimp and octopus. Brian had a dozen fresh oysters. They were fresh and juicy!

A Slice of Amalfi in the Grove…read more I wasn't aware Miami had a piece of the Amalfi Coast hidden in the Grove... Baia Blu is officially your next gourmet cucina italiana destination. L'Ambiente e l'Accoglienza The moment I passed by, I was met with the incredible calore of Maria. She gave me a tour that felt like a stroll through Positano. The aesthetic here is wonderfully eccentric; it perfectly captures that Southern Campania Italian soul. Between the limone lamps, the intricate fresco paintings, the lush vegetable wall, the Raffaella Carrà music playing, and the romantic glow of the patio, it feels like a secret trattoria tucked in the Grove. Servizio con Passione Maria owns her presence with such typical Italian pride, and the rest of the team follows suit. Ambrogio, Carlo, and Ernesto play their parts as typical Italian characters as well, charismatic and laid-back. They have that typical South Italian "easy-going" attitude while remaining completely attentive to every request. They truly host you like family. Il Sapore del Mare e della Terra The menu stays true to coastal traditions: * L'Antipasto: We began with an authentic, fresh Burrata Pugliese that complemented the focaccia perfectly. The cheese was incredibly creamy, blending beautifully with the tomatoes. Then came the Frutti di Mare, perfectly croccante (crunchy) with that hit of sea salt that makes you crave the ocean. * I Secondi: I opted for the Branzino Mediterraneo with salmoriglio sauce. It was so light and fresh, it felt like a true "catch of the day." I paired it with Truffle Fries that had a delicate, sophisticated scent. * La Pasta: We couldn't resist sharing the Pear & Gorgonzola Agnolotti. The gorgonzola cream sauce was difficult to resist to not dip it in the warm crusty Focaccia and perform the "scarpetta", we soaked up every last drop of that sauce! I had a taste of my friend's Swordfish (breaded alla Milanese), which was a great, protein-packed dish. Next time, I am definitely coming back for the Scaloppine di Vitello "Sorrento" with the lemon veal reduction; seeing them served so tender with those roasted Brussels sprouts made my mouth water. Il Dolce Finale You cannot leave without the Tiramisu. I'm usually not the biggest fan of this classic, but this one was a revelation, it was actually my favorite and paired with my legit Kimbo coffe. It even beat out the (also delicious) Pistachio Creamy Cake, which would have taken the top spot if only it had an extra punch of creamy pistachio spread to top it off. Now there is a huge downside that you immediately encounter when you arrive. The parking lot is exceptionally small and people are parked every which way, except in the spaces. Getting to the actual building will take some time. The neighboring lots have pretty clear signs that they will tell you if you park there. So you're stuck dealing with what it is. The fish variety is good, although not great. If you're looking for strictly local fish, you'll probably find what you want. Several varieties of snapper and the fish looked wonderful and fresh. Some of my favorites like hogfish and grouper. You can buy the whole fish and they'll fillet it for you or you can buy fillets if they have them of the fish that you want. But the part I missed is having them cook it for me. Now that is something I would like to try next time The downside is they strictly local fish. You won't find any flatfish and I was surprised that they did not have any U4 or U6 shrimp which I like to use to make paella. In addition, I did not see fresh scallops. They did have some nice lobster tails although I did not see other shellfish. Some people have said the prices are reasonable; I found them about 20 to 30% higher than other fish markets I visit. The people here are really nice in the market is attractive. I will be back as I said to get a meal cooked for me in part because it is closer than the fish markets I usually visit and also my curiosity after reading other reviews. I recommend this market if you have the patience to wait for a parking space. If you're looking for the larger shrimp for paella look elsewhere
