This place would have 1 star- but I tossed in another for the affordable calzones which are as big as your head. Staff does not comprehend simple orders. Pizza is revolting. There is a reason people pile outside Grimaldi's a 10 minute walk away. Even Monty's on Montague St has better pizza! Less "New York style" but I'd take that over the tough, bready crust with disgusting sauce and barely any cheese. I'm serious. The old Italian brothers who owned it were stoic and the sons who took it over, talked even less...when men were men and pizza & lounge singers were cheesy. However and luckily, the sauce recipe and the thin crust have stood the test of Brooklyn gentrification time. It continues to be my favorite and best tasting pizza place in NYC. Note, when you grow up in a Brooklyn neighborhood, you can't help being biased, but it really is a fantastic slice. Order a slice, add garlic powder, fold it (lengthwise...newby), start walking up the street and chow down (watch out for the orange-cheesy-oily droplets that will invariably come out the back and stain your corporate-white shirt). read more

aside from being terribly over priced the pizza is just terrible...burnt crusts through and through dry and awful...refused to replace with decent slices and would not reimburse either...this is the worst pizza in all of NYC and i have lived here for 77years...the workers are rude and disrespectful and even pushed my 87 year old husband...there is very good pizza just one block away just to the north with lovely waitstaff...do not waste your money with this pizza joint or you will just be throwing your money down the drain...they deserve to be driven from the neighborhood and should move on so that Brooklyn Heights can maintain a reputation of a decent place to live and dine without that low life...Ann W read more

last time I stopped by to see some friends of friends who were in town waiting on line for grimaldi's (which recently lost all character/charm), I gave them some sage advice: 'order fascati and have them deliver to the line' they ignored me and proceeded to wait for another 2 hours for less pizza (amazing pizza, but still) in an environment that to me from the outside resembled a friday's. but enough grimaldi's bashing... go to fascati, order a whole pie (they're huge! and delicious.), bring cash, and make sure you're not there during the month the whole family takes a vacation... because that can be hugely disappointing. on a side note. you know they're doing something right if they can afford to go on vacation and close for a whole month every year. read more

This little establishment does not look like much from the outside, but it's served me the best pizza I have had in a while. I love that it's only a few minutes away. They are like the opposite of Grimaldi's- very under the radar, no long waits but excellent pizza, made by people who have been doing it for years. Fascati has great regular slices. You an have pretty much any topping such as pepperoni, sausage, meatball, basil etc. Pretty much anything. The key is they're plain slices are always fresh out of the oven. But their sicilian is not too great. They don't really keep coming out with new pies every 10 minutes. But anyway, I urge you to go get some pizza from Fascati. read more

I have tasted both Grimaldis and Fuscati and truly Fuscati is way better. Plus you don't have to wait on line in the street in all types of weather. You get treated nicely and they deliver a great quality pie. They even have specials. Grimaldis doesn't even offer slices. Let's be honest Grimaldis is for tourist and Fuscati is for people who want to taste a true slice of New York pizza. they also make great Italian dishes, the veal parmagian is my favorite. read more

We ordered yesterday for the first time. I was at the pier and the kids got hungry so I searched for the closest pizza shop that's would deliver to the pier but that was hard. Don't be fooled by Grimaldi's; Fascati is the king of pizza in Brooklyn Heights. How a simple slice can bring such happiness cannot be explained. It just does so don't question why. Their meatballs are Godzilla size so prepare to get a gym membership before ordering a hero. One drawback is that they're closed on Mondays. Inevitably I'll forget and make the trip only to be brutally disappointed. read more

Initial feelings were negative, but I warmed to the place. Pizza is a little bit spendy but worth it. You can taste the quality ingredients especially the sauce and dough. It was a little warm in there as they lacked a/c--so not a great spot if it is really hot out. You can go by the slice or whole pie. read more

The best pizza in the Heights and Dumbo. HOWEVER!!! They list no schedule anywhere, and when they're open or closed seems to be totally up to their whim. This is infuriating, and after you've gone to the place only to find it closed on three different days and at different times of day, you begin to dislike the owner as much as you like the pizza. Obviously, it's my fault to not have realized after the initial incident that I should call first, but since I live nearby I'm used to just taking a pleasant walk thru my nabe, especially when every single store but theirs is open (i.e., it's not a holiday of any sort), so you assume they will be as well. But no. This is their right and privilege, but they should inform the public. These people need a lesson in how to keep customers satisfied and just plain politeness. Best New York-style pizza in the neighborhood. Hands down. Whether you grew up in the neighborhood or are visiting Brooklyn for the first time, grab a slice of Heights history at Fascati's. The pizza is what dreams (and cravings) are made of. Super thin and crisp crust, perfectly-seasoned sauce and just the right amount of cheese. The owners still work in the shop and ensure quality control. But that means the shop is closed for most of August, while the family travels back to the old country for some much-needed R&R. read more

You will find great, no frills slices at this neighborhood standby. You can walk up here if you're tired of waiting on line at Grimaldi's. Some say the slices get better when they are reheated in the oven. There's other stuff on the menu, but I've never been tempted to try anything other than the plain slice (and the white slice, which is also quite good.)
