For someone who is looking to care for their nails and find a consistent place to get them done, I would recommend this studio! They are very attentive to detail and will listen to your questions, concerns, and focus for your nails. The space is clean and open (can accommodate multiple people). It feels relaxing walking in as it doesn't seem too busy, especially after work hours (after 3PM). Personally, I was able to call and get an appointment a couple of hours later on the same day. I would also suggest getting Gel-X extensions here as I've been satisfied with overall quality and attention for nails that are supposed to last me 3-4 weeks. This place does not disappoint. Bonus: There is plenty of street parking in front of the store. If not available, there is a back lot. read more

The people who did my gel manicure and pedicure took their time and did a great job. I was the only person there which surprised me. I appreciated the tv played so I caught a few episode of The Connor'sThere's street parking in the front and a lot in the back. read more

I am writing this review 3 weeks after getting GelX with Japanese gel for the first time at Fashion Nail Studio. Other than the fact that my natural nails have grown, the manicure still looks perfect. No chipping, etc of any kind! My previous gel manicures have NEVER lasted this long (my record was 1.5 weeks). I'm very rough with my hands/nails so I am shocked and pleasantly surprised at how long this manicure has held up! On top of that, Tina did a wonderful job with the manicure. I asked for a design and she replicated it based on the picture I showed her, and her color recommendation was exactly what I was looking for. I've found my new go to salon! read more

Found this gem on yelp. Tina and her husband did an amazing job. It's been about 25 years since I got nail extensions. I've seen so many people with gel-x extensions, figured I'd give it a shot. I got the gel-x Japanese gel and this is one of the best manicure I've ever gotten. Tina took her time to make it look amazing and I'm so happy with my nails. Looking forward to going back. I had my second appointment with Tina recently. This review took me twice as long to type, as I keep stopping to admire the amazing nails she gave me!! PLEASE NOTE: Tina is currently in ROSEMEAD (address on her yelp page) and NOT Alhambra, and she will be moving again soon. My appointment was delayed because the customer in front of me went to the wrong location. I don't blame Tina in the slightest, as it wasn't her fault and she was still careful and meticulous with my nails, but if one person is late everyone behind them will unfortunately be delayed as well. First of all, can we talk about how LONG the Japanese polish she gave me last time lasted?!! Almost two months in, during which I cooked a ton and moved furniture, and only a single small chip on the side of my thumb. You definitely get your money's worth! I showed Tina some pictures of the design and shape I wanted for my nails. Tina DELIVERED. She made all my nails look the same shape, even though some of my nails grow kind of wonky. I felt no pain when she was trimming my cuticles, and she was incredibly gentle throughout. Her hands are so steady. The polish is super neatly applied, especially near the cuticle, and it is incredibly satisfying to look at. I cannot recommend Tina enough! She is so sweet and the best at doing nails! read more

Highly recommend this nail salon, the owner Tina and her husband are very humble couple and professional, I used to go to another nail salon on Valley, but they damaged my nails... after taking a few months break of my nails, I finally found one salon that I can become a regular. Tina's work is incredible, she made the gel thin, clean and smooth, no bubbles at all, no gel left in between the gaps! And fast! Really wanted this to be my new go-to place. Each time I pass this salon it is rarely ever busy, today is a Wednesday afternoon, and I wanted a quote of services for a walk-in. Through Yelp and by phone, the salon could not tell me if the salon was busy at the moment, and I didn't get an answer for the quote on the services. If it is by appointment only, please let customers know, try and find a way to meet them halfway and not just a plain "sorry I can't today." Understandable though. This business did a great job on my services the last time, but this is now the second time I've called and even though their hours are marked as "open" they will most likely refuse service. Take your chances. +EDIT IN RESPONSE+ This is why I love Yelp! It is not in my nature to ever lie especially when it comes to flourishing businesses, all my reviews are 100% authentic & only meant to provide other customers with thorough reviews of actual experiences. Owners should NEVER take any offense, that is why you ask customers to leave reviews. Not all of them will be 5 stars and that is totally okay. Through the Yelp messaging system we are asked about services we are seeking, and we are given the option to send an extra message for the owner for a better response. I answered everything and even added my extra message in which I stated "I was seeking an estimated quote for the services." If owners do not pay attention to this initial message being sent, that is up to them. And also okay! In my original review I mentioned that I wholeheartedly enjoyed my last visit to this salon, the services were done so well- that is why I've been trying to return. But both times I have tried to see if I can do a walk-in and It was not possible and this is upsetting because I live right across the street from this salon and almost every time I check it is always empty. So in my heart, I had hoped the times I would try to get some services done, I would be able to walk-in. But that is understandable that you have a schedule as well, which is what I also mentioned. Please for future reference, accept appointments only for certain services and answer whatever questions being asked. This is not a bad review, it's just some helpful feedback. read more

I called Tina on the 17th of August hoping she could take me in for a mani and pedi that same day. She said yes and so I went right away ad I live nearby. The place looks nice and clean. Tina welcomed me and was very friendly. She was the only person working that day so it was a little slow since she had to do my pedi then my mani. I didn't feel like she was in a hurry though albeit I found out later that she might have been that - in a hurry. Last minute, I chose the Gel X or Japanese Gel as she told me that it would last longer and no harsh chemicals which is better for the nails. Before I left, she said that if any of my nails will chip, I should let her know and that she will fix it for me. I appreciated that but also found it odd. Made me think that this probably happened in the past. Long story short, I texted her on the 23rd of August (almost a week after) that my nails chipped (two from the right hand but didn't tell her about my pedicure). She happily took me in on Friday and fixed those two nails. It is now the 1st of September and 3 of my nails in my right hand is now chipped (including 1 that was fixed) and two in my left hand. My pedicure was already a disaster after a week but I don't want to go back and have her fix it. It's awkward. Anyway, as much as I want to support her small business and how nice she was, I think the quality of the products used were less than what I paid for. I paid a total of $85 for the mani & pedi and everything fell apart on the first week. Such a shame and a waste of money. Will never come back. read more

I love this nail studio!!! I've been coming here for 2 years consistently. Tina and her husband are such lovely, hard working individuals!!!! They always make me feel welcomed. I found Tina as I was searching for a peaceful, quiet, classy nail salon. I wanted to go somewhere I could unplug - free of gossip or any mean girl energy. This is IT! Their attention to detail, consistent results, and the duration of my gel x manis and regular pedis lasting 4 wks says it all! I can tell they care so much about the quality of the work and she takes her time with everyone! Such a gem! I trusted her so much and did my nails here for all my wedding events - bridal shower, wedding events! And she slayed each set! I would show her what I wanted and she executed it, and even made sure to not book clients after to dedicate time to perfecting my set. Parking is 10/10 and I love having to never worry about it! What can I say about Fashion Nail Studio that hasn't already been said? This is by far the best nail salon I've ever been to in the SGV. The salon itself is beautiful, peaceful, and for those with sensory issues, autistic-friendly. Tina is an absolute legend when it comes to gel nails. I recommend making an appointment if you plan on stopping by! Got a fresh gel x set on 1/6 and this included removal which is an additional $10 on top of Japanese Gel X manicure ($65). Tina is very friendly and knowledgeable. She's very thorough and lets you check before finishing up. read more

Update to my last review: on Dec. 7 I got my second Japanese gel manicure, this time with Tina, the owner. She suggested I try the nail hardener ($15 extra). I decided that though this pushed my manicure to $60, if the polish doesn't chip, it would be worth it. It's now nearly two weeks later and, although my nails show growth at the base, they are still as perfect as the day Tina did them! This is especially amazing because last weekend (on day 9 after the manicure) I did construction work at my house, building the floor foundation for my new shed/office! I worked with huge pieces of wood, hammering, using an impact driver and carrying wood (mostly without gloves because I needed the dexterity) and my nails are STILL perfect! My friend, Lisa, who helped me build also had her Japanese gel manicure from Tina with the hardener and her nails were still perfect too! My daughter goes to Tina as well, and works as a Vet Tech. She is not easy on her hands and her Japanese gel w hardener manicure is perfect, too! She goes nearly three weeks without a chip. It looks like mine will last three weeks, maybe longer! If you don't mind the growth showing at the base, and can afford the admitted splurge, you will not regret it. It is a pleasure to support Tina's business. She is lovely and does an excellent job! read more

I usually have a very busy and unpredictable schedule so finding time for a manicure is not always easy. I had an afternoon free and called Fashion Nail Studio and asked if there were any openings. The lady who answered the phone said she had time if I wanted to come now. In a minute I got a text confirming my appointment time. There is plenty of parking in the back lot and a back door entrance as well. I walked in and noticed it was huge, open, bright, clean and beautiful inside. Since it was my first time and I only needed a mani I just went with black and one design (a hand painted letter) on one nail on each hand. I loved the evenness of the polish, no bubbles or dents in the gel. I work catering so I have to load vans with 10 foot wooden tables and bars, constantly picking up crates and wearing latex gloves that create a lot of moisture as I work with fire as well. It has been two weeks and my nails never peeled, the edges stayed down and just a few days ago I barely noticed the first chip. They still look shiny and other than the growth I could pass this off as a new set. This is hands down the best gel manicure I've had in a very long time. I wish I had remembered the lady's name; she was so sweet and gentle with my hands I plan on going back and once catering season is over, the gel x are calling my name. Thank you! read more

Tina at Fashion Nail Studio is fantastic, as is her husband who does the pedicures. Tina's attention to detail and meticulousness always leaves me with very neatly trimmed cuticles, nails shaped evenly on both hands, and a gel manicure that lasts me well over 3.5 weeks -- even longer if I am not too rough on my hands. The atmosphere is airy and peaceful, there's usually some bingeable sitcom running on the TV, and the facilities are clean. There's really easy parking behind the salon as well. I booked an appointment for my mom and I to get our nails vacation ready on a Friday morning. I was helped by Tina and her husband(?) while my mom was tended to by another girl. We both got japanese gel manicures and regular pedicures. Tina did my mani while the husband worked on my toes. I have to commend the husband on giving me the best, most meticulous pedicure I've ever received. He took his time to make sure my wonky toenails were perfectly filed before applying the polish. My mom even noticed how much effort he put in and already said she'd request him for a pedicure next time. Tina worked faster but with the same amount of precision. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she tried her best to replicate it. I appreciated the effort and it still came out cute. Cute, cozy, and clean salon. Don't let the spaciousness fool you, they were already busy while only working on us as they were already fully booked for the day. Def make an appointment in advance! read more

I've been to a few nail salons and was never truly satisfied; some due to lack of customer service, some because the atmosphere was off, some because they were too pricey. Fashion Nail Salon was nothing like that. I was immediately greeted upon arrival. Both nail techs were friendly and didn't make me feel awkward standing there and quickly settled me down. Even the customer was friendly and let me play with her dog! First impression was already going well so far. I have a checklist to find a solid nail salon: clean and open space , reasonable prices , friendly customer service , exceptional and meticulous details , understands my expectations , and many more. I've been consistently coming to Friendly Nails for the last few years. I usually call first thing…read morein the morning to check their availability for the same day & if it's too busy I'll ask to book an appointment for the next day or future date. All of the nail techs are great! I request for Cici when I want to do cat-eye or more simple gel manicures. If I want more artsy designs, I'll usually request for Ella or Karen. Gel manis are still $45, with full cat-eye adding an additional $15. Hand drawn art design nails may add between $4-6 per nail, depending on the design; while if you're okay with stickers, it may be $2-3/each. More intricate nail designs will require more time & cost more depending on what it is -- so I would inform them if this is something you want to do so they can allot the right amount of time for your booking. I typically spend about 1.5-2 hours to get my nails done (including removing the previous months' nails, nail trimming, shaping, cuticles, etc.) As stated before: Easy parking in the First St. structure behind the shop. Restroom available in the back of the store & always clean. They also do have bottled water, if needed.

The pricing structure felt confusing and constantly changing, making it difficult to know what the final cost would be. After hearing the additional charges, I decided against getting a new set and paid $45 for a manicure after the Gel-X removal. For $45, I expected my natural nails to leave looking polished and professionally finished. Instead, I left with: * Jagged, uneven nail edges that were not properly filed * Visible product residue still left on multiple nails * Uneven nail surfaces * Dry, unfinished cuticles * Nails that looked incomplete rather than professionally manicured I took photos immediately after leaving because I couldn't believe this was the finished result. The service itself was also disappointing. My technician, Annie, repeatedly stopped working on my nails to answer phone calls and attend to other matters. The supply/storage area visible to customers was cluttered and disorganized, and I observed nail files being reused, which made me question the sanitation standards. Even checkout was frustrating. Lien's customer service was nice in the beginning, but her technique & skills were absolutely HORRIFIC!!! SHE CUT me 5 times, NEVER APOLOGIZED, plus SHE NEVER cleaned my nails after her job as well! SHE even told me that SHE was going to do my pedicure & wax as well & SHE NEVER DID!!! SHE had her workers do them for her, but they did an EXCELLENT job that was WAAAY BETTER than her by a long shot! Not only that, one of her workers did My GF's Gel Pedicure VERY HORRIBLY that the powder even chipped off within 24 hours!!! With that being said, her 2 workers that did my pedicure & wax were very friendly & very sweet as well! Per my recommendation for this nail salon, I WILL NOT RECOMMEND this place due to my injuries & I want people to know to save their skin & their money too!!! NOT ONLY THAT, I even reported the business to the State Board of Cosmetology as well!!!

Christa's salon is so cute and welcoming, I knew I was in good hands. She was so gentle with trimming my cuticles I didn't cry at all (normally I bleed while big crocodile tears roll down my cheeks). And she has an amazing selection of colors and product--Christa is a next level tech. Some of the products Christa used I have never even seen at other places. I could tell she cared about the quality of product she puts on her client's hands. I had reviewed her prices beforehand, and she told me her mantra was "nail art for all." I ended up going with black gel and a little negative space, and it looked amazing. I had random people on the street ask me today where I got my nails done. I am so happy with my nails!
