There's hardly anything around so highly suggest to bring your own water coffee eggs fruits etc---we didn't utilize the morning bfast option and it was more much convenient for us to the the kitchen in our cabin. Also parking is first come first serve. But the cabin was comfortable and cute. There's Netflix and other various apps available on the TV (there was an additional TV in the bedroom), and ofc wifi. A beautifully designed property.

Pros: FREE breakfast with microwaveable food and coffee, hot cocoa, and apple cider 30 minutes to the west entrance of Yellowstone Beautiful sights to look at 10-20 minutes anywhere out from the resort Absolutely amazing staff FREE Sauna (45min) included in your room for reservation Great cabins with a microwave with all the necessary equipment (oven and stovetop is only in the willow cabins) Rental shop with ski mobile and ATV's in the winter and boats in the summer with a lake next to the resort Almost no one in the spring (50$ for the willow cabins) Cons: Costs money to use the washing machine (uses coins) The last chance shop next to it is a SCAM (6$ for a half-gallon of milk) 45~ minutes to rexburg for groceries Crowded in the summer Overall one of the best places I have ever been in. I highly recommend you go here, 10/10, 6 stars if it was an option.

Their operating hours...not so much: by the time we realized we were hungry, we had to book it over there to grab a table before things started to wind down (their closing time was 8:00pm, which makes the Lakeside Lodge a lunch place, in my opinion). True to its name, the lodge has gorgeous views of the water, and a welcoming, rustic aesthetic. We didn't order anything fancy or particularly adventurous: a bison burger for myself, and some surf-and-turf sturf for me wurf (sorry, the Swedish Chef in me took over there for a moment!). Everything was good, if not particularly remarkable, but it certainly did the job. Expect hearty, homestyle cooking, not haute cuisine, and your expectations will surely be met to your satisfaction. Service was present, attentive and friendly, and if it weren't for that passive sense of anxiety that comes with being the last served table in a closing restaurant (not their fault; that's my own hang-up), I would have felt more at-ease. I wish we'd had more time to check out the restaurant and the resort, but I guess that'll have to wait for a return trip, sometime in the future.

We ate outside on the patio-…read morethere's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so even though it's crowded, it can accommodate a lot of people. The cinnamon pretzels are the best pretzels we've ever had- wow!! They're soft, coated in cinnamon sugar, and accompanied by the most delectable icing. I'd return just to get these for dessert. The buff bites were also excellent- I got the huckleberry BBQ sauce, it hit the spot, and definitely was enough for a meal. My husband got the country fried buffalo steak with mashed potatoes and also loved it. It's standard bar/grill food, something for everyone, but be sure to get the pretzels!

One of few venues that would take reservations of this size group. They have a good amount of indoor seating. We sat on the umbrellaed patio, near the musician, just around the corner of the bar from games like cornhole. They were busy, but service was attentive. Many of us had craft beers and cocktails. Everyone was pleased, but i could not list all the beverages for you. We had at least one yummy fresh arugula salad with sirloin cooked-to-order and a lot of flavorful bacon, blue cheese crumbles, green onion, tomatoes, balsamic glaze, and thick "Texas" toast. We shared a number of the many appetizers: Crispy-coated sweet-chili Thai Shrimp were rather small but quite tasty. The tray of nachos was a glorious mess of beans, sauces and crema, mixed melty cheeses, olives, and meat ... i think we got the rich ground "buffalo". The "buffalo balls" were even messier: meatballs in deep gravy over mashed potatoes smothered in sautéed onions and mushrooms. We had "chicken "bites" with two of their yummy flavorings. The soft pretzels and cheese were long thick almost-loaves. And i completely lost track of the mains: several of their loaded burgers and overloaded tacos. The star was the 12oz medium-rare ribeye, topped with herb butter & demi glacé, loaded garlic redskin mashed potatoes, & thick garlic toast. This was a great immersion in great food, drink, ant atmosphere. The $44 ribeye was one of the top-two steaks we had during our trip. (July 2026). Pro tip: every steak is town was good, even the bargains you can find with a little hunting. But be sure to pay a little more once or twice to get the best.

After a few days of "well, that was expensive" meals, this place felt like striking gold. We're not meat eaters, which can sometimes make dining in these areas a bit of a scavenger hunt, but The Blue Lion delivered anyway. The scallops were spot-on, the scampi pasta was bright and balanced, and everything tasted like someone in the kitchen actually cared. And then there's Colin, the manager--who somehow manages to be attentive, engaging, and completely unpretentious all at once. He chatted with us about food like we were old friends, made sure every detail was right, and turned dinner into an experience rather than just a reservation. Our server was equally dialed in, catching nuances in our order that most places would miss. It's the kind of service that feels effortless but clearly isn't. The vibe? Cozy, welcoming, and just the right amount of lively. The kind of place where you linger a little too long and start thinking about what you'd order next time. In a town full of places that rely on location, The Blue Lion earns it.
