Decent Mexican food. It's not as good as the Mexican food in Chicago but not bad for northwest Indiana- that is why I took off a star.

Small restaurant, fat burritos. We ordered some jalapeño poppers as an appetizer, and were very pleased with them. I got the steak burrito with green sauce, and was surprised at its ginormous size. Stop by here spur of the moment one hungry afternoon. I real love Mexican food. Very plain inside, but as long as it's clean and the food is good that's ok with me. Ordered the Fat Burrito with pork. The salsa was excellent! I asked and they make it there. The chips were average. I wish all Mexican restaurants toasted or heated the chips. Makes all the difference. They didn't unfortunately. The burrito was decent. Need to work on making sure the ingredients are spread evenly and not half pork and the other half lettuce. I'm not sure if they actually put the sour cream on the inside. I would have preferred it on the outside. I will go back and try one other plate before I decide if it is worth making it a regular lunch stop. Service was fine also. After reading the rave reviews on Yelp, I was really excited to try this place out on my way to Ohio. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we were given chips and salsa which was honestly the best part of my meal. The salsa was flavorful with just the right amount of kick. I ordered the Fat Burrito with chicken and red sauce. The chicken was decent, but the burrito wasnt that flavorful despite the copious toppings (sour cream, melted cheese, salsa). Take a seat if you are eating in, but to get your bill go to the counter. The servers were very pleasant. I had the steak tacos. I had one hard shell and one soft shell. I usually prefer hard shells, but in this case the soft shell was the way to go. The tacos were tasty and stuffed full. Can't wait to go back and try some different items. Long story short, their food is hit or miss. They don't serve fresh rice. Old rice with chunks from the pot. I tried to give them another shot after a few bad experiences. Never again, I left a detailed experience on google. They're serving food that these Crown Pojnt folks thinks is actually good Mexican food. The food is good, one of the few places in NWI that offers tongue tacos. The horchata is usually very good but sometimes you get the dregs which is gritty. Staff is friendly and open to giving suggestions. The bathrooms, while being one men's and one woman's, are clean and that's impressive in the area. read more

Food is on point. Translation: perfectly seasoned Mexican, guacamole is made in house. I had huevos Mexicana( a vegetarian dish) and it was spot on in the flavor and portion size. My mom had the guacamole fat burrito it was HUGE! She definitely took a box home. She also said it was delicious! The service was great- no complaints both gentlemen we encountered were courteous, and our server was attentive. The food prep time was about expected not long at all. We cleared our chips and salsa rather quickly, but our food was out before we could get a second basket of chips. The salsa is flavorful, fresh, but not spicy. This place is inexpensive, fast and delicious! I saw the 4.5 star rating and decided to give it a shot on our travels and we were not disappointed! We ordered the cheese dip and a chorizo fat burrito and our total was around $10, so much food for not a lot of money. The burrito was stuffed full of chorizo and the meat had a good crisp on some of the pieces, which I love. As with most places, you will get a basket of chips and some sauce while waiting for your lunch. I have usually order the same item every time, which happens to be the Beef Fat Burrito. I have also tried the Pork Fat Burrito. You would not go wrong with either choice. The meat is tender and the flavorings are quite authentic. If you are not interested in the option to have a "doggy bag" they also offer a smaller burrito. For the difference in price...I say get the bigger and have a great meal/snack later on as well!
