Enjoyed a couple slices from this spot the other day. I had the chocolate cheese pie and the key lime. Both were excellent. I have to lean towards the chocolate pie, but that's basically because I love chocolate. Give this place a shot if you need desert and are in the grand central market. We've been on the hunt for good key lime pies, and this one does not disappoint! Ordered online and parked in Grand Central Market (sadly no validation). Shop was a bit difficult to find amongst the busy market. We ordered two slices of their key lime pie. Love their soft graham crust and the light cream balances out the tartiness of the key lime. Would definitely get again! Was $6 per slice. Ended up ordering way too in advance and picked it up hours after it was ready, but thankfully they had our order stored in their fridge. read more

This was one of the best keylime pies i have ever had. The texture was so creamy. I've never had it like this before, and the flavor of the crust had such a rich nuttiness to it. Even the whip cream was luxurious. Really nice people working the front. I will say the slices are spendy. We got 5 slices it was about $40. But I'm a dessert guy so I'd say it's worth it for the quality you're getting. read more

I read about this place I. The AM and picked up two pies today. Located in the middle of the market I found the staff friendly and informative. I selected two pies The blue and blackberry pie which was be the best. Have had tart not a lot of sugar with a great crust. I picked up a Carmel apple but that will wait till tomorrow. Park at the market it 3 for 90 mins or if you order on line they can bring out to the curb In the last week we have been to republic of pie and Pie hole This leaves their pies in the dust. Despite shuttering Fiona after just nine months Chef Nicole Rucker is back at it with a kiosk inside Grand Central Market, the limited-hours "Fat + Flour" selling some of her famous Baked Goods while a kickstarter and pop-ups such as Nicole's birthday event with Milk Cult seek to offer something more in the near future. Known through years baking for others including Travis Lett and James Starr, plus 2019 cookbook "Dappled," Rucker's concise collection is located just upstairs adjacent Belcampo Meat Co., and although choices are said to change weekly those willing to arrive early will likely find slices of signature Key Lime and Chocolate Chess Pies. Sharing the stage this on this particular Saturday with East-Coast-based Milk Cult, it was once through a short line that choices came easy, $4 scoops of Harry's Berries Strawberry Ice Cream and creamy "Bacon" Avocado each subtly stunning while a Dark Chocolate Brownie achieves similar taste as Rucker's Chess with less Pudding-like consistency. Worth checking out! Placed a preorder on Monday and picked up on Friday. The Key Lime Pie was good but I thought the lime flavor came through a little too well, more tart than sweet. The crust was on point though. Also got the Chocolate Chip Cookie which was great. The cookie was thin and crispy on the edges while soft in the middle. My girlfriend and I love this place! She always wants to stop by for matcha and cookies. We typically always stop by on weekends since we live nearby. Although there's always a long line and it's hard to hear, the staff is always really friendly and nice. The guy with the long hair and the girls with dyed hair are always chatting with customers which makes the experience feel personal, you don't see that a lot now with most businesses. Nicole Rucker is a master pie maker I mean every time I eat her pies I can't help but smile. The key lime pie is the perfect contrast of tart and sweet. Then you get the creaminess which elevated the whole experience to bliss , everything meshes so well together , best key lime pie I've had in la 10/10. Then we have the chocolate chip cookie it's fabulous and I've had 100s of them , this easily ranks in my top 5 9/10. I haven't sampled widely here but the peanut butter cookie is the best I've ever had. And it's even vegan!

Hot damn these baked goods are SO AMAZING!!!!! The service was also unforgettable, the gentlemen that helped was busy, but still had time to be honest! We came on a Saturday night 7/8, to be exact! And we asked the person working what his top recommendation was for vegans- he said the bourbon choco chip! We got that and the peanut butter to split. They were both SO SO GOOD, Like truly one of the best cookies I've ever had in my life. My friend and I returned for a second round of the same 2 cookies, and the gentleman working was happy to tell us "told you so." He was kind and funny! He even recommended we get it with milk, and being that his record of being right is strong- we did so and the classic pair of milk and this delicious vegan cookie sent us to heaven. If you have been following Nicole Rucker since she exploded onto the dessert scene over a decade ago, you already know she's the pie queen of Los Angeles. So does this spot live up to the hype? Yes! Yes! A thousand times yes! The famous key lime pie de-liv-ers flavor in every perfect bite. When I die I want to be shrouded in a tapestry of that sweet, buttery crust because it is ACTUAL HEAVEN. The key lime is zesty, tart, and delicate without being too firm or too gelatinous. Texture can make or break a key lime and the F+F pie has the perfect mouth feel. The pie is topped with what I truly believe is the perfect whipped cream. It's not overly sweet and the creaminess balances the lime's acidity perfectly. I'm so deeply addicted to this pie that I even eat it when I'm not at GCM. Fun fact, it's served as the ONLY dessert at Found Oyster and I order it without fail every single time I'm there. I've also tried many of the other pies and they have never let me down. The lemon meringue is a bit milder than they key lime with generous fluffy clouds of meringue. The chess pie is DECADENT. They literally wrote the book about seasonal fruit pies, so you can't go wrong there! And if that wasn't enough- let's talk COOKIES. My personal favorite is the sugar cookie. I can take down a LOT of those in a single sitting. They have this amazing texture, sweetness, and of course they are cute as heck. All of the cookies are amazing and if you pre-order them and bring them to your event or gathering you will be very, very popular. Trust me, these cookies can take your social cred from a 6 to an 11. And on top of all of that, the staff is amazing. They're nice, funny, and they take pride in making sure your desserts look as good as they taste. Listen, I'm telling you this as a friend. An ideal spot inside Grand Central Market to satisfy your sweet tooth especially if you love cookies like me, or rather you can opt for a pie instead. The representative working their let me know it would be the best gluten-free cookie I've ever had and she was right, it was baked to a fluffy and chewy consistency in the middle with a bit of crispness at the edges. This is reputed to be among the best bakers of pie in the city. So on a recent visit to Grand Central Market, I got a piece of pecan pie to go. At $8 for a slice, that's about half of what a whole pie at House of Pies costs.) Shocking that the crust was overbaked, almost burned. That's unforgivable from a pie specialist. Was super excited to try this place at the GCM as I've been craving pie lately, however at $13 for a slice of pie, I decided to try a cookie instead. I know everything is overpriced at the GCM but $13 for a slice of pie!?!? come on. I tried the triple chocolate cookie which had one really good bite in the center that was super gooey and chocolatey and flavorful but the rest of the cookie was just ok. I have ordered from here about 5 times and although they have delicious treats, I don't think their customer service is good. The workers are unfriendly and also seem bothered. The last time I ordered was last week, and I was unable to pick up my order for two days, due to unforeseen events - I called both times and was told I wouldn't be getting fresh treats and were the same key lime pie and cookies and banana pudding that was from the original order. I understand that my order was from the day I ordered - buy they failed to show exceptional customer service. I should not have been given old items regardless of the circumstances because that would compromise the quality of the purchased items. They should have gone above and beyond for their customers. A store credit, new items, maybe even a kind attitude instead of a rude one would have helped this particular situation... The cookies were wet/burnt and old and the other items as well. Fat and Flour was highly recommended to me recently so I trekked downtown to check it out. I had never been to Grand Central Market before, but I was up for an adventure in hopes of discovering the perfect pie. I found a public parking lot across the street which cost $20 by the time I ate lunch and grabbed a slice of pie to go. Ugh. I had hoped for a fruit pie, but the only pies available were pumpkin, chocolate chess, and key lime. I decided on key lime. Upon my first bite I was taken aback by how sweet it was, and although I liked it and thought the crust was delicious, it was too sweet for my tastes. Because it was a long drive for me to get there and my expectations were high after checking out the Fat and Flour website, Instagram, and reading reviews, I have to admit that I left feeling a bit let down. The stall looked dingy and the presentation of the pies made it difficult to see them. I am going to chalk the appearance of the stall and presentation of their baked goods up to very limited space inside the market. However, the baked goods at Fat and Flour are pricey and when you are paying a premium for something the presentation makes a huge difference. The fellow at the counter wasn't very welcoming and when I asked about the possibility of them opening a location in Culver City (which I had read online) he wasn't forthcoming with any information. His demeanor was dour and he seemed like a guy who doesn't enjoy his job. It was a disappointment. I will definitely give them another try if they open up in Culver City, but I wouldn't make a trip downtown based on my initial experience. read more

The chocolate chess pie is the best pie I've ever had in my life. It's rich, decadent but not in a heavy kind of way. It's like if a pie and a brownie had a baby. Ordered my go to black americano. First the drink was the color of tea. Not typical for americano, but I ordered it iced so I thought ok maybe that's how they do it here. Tasted like day old drip that just poured over ice. Left that bitter dirt after taste, but also didn't have the strong robust flavor an americano has. I also was not impressed with the service. I tried asking about fixing my drink but the 2 people behind the counter (dare I call them baristas) were impatient and didn't want to help so I asked to throw the drink away. Sped by here today hoping to grab a slice of what I asked the cashier to be the 'bestseller'. She told me the key lime pie was the one. I asked her if the banana cream pie was sweeter or not. I didn't want an ultra sweet pie. But she said the key lime pie was more tart. I caved and gave in to my banana cream pie craving and took it for lunch. It was DELECTAble. I order pies to my home for fun (piefreak) and thought I had tasted the best banana cream pie but boy was I WRONG! The banana cream pie here was the best I've ever had. Not too sweet not too heavy. Kobacha Pumpkin Pie This pumpkin pie was by far the best pumpkin pie I've ever had. Don't roll your eyes cause I don't say this every year (har har). I call it the 3D's. Decadent, dense and dangerously delicious. I'm just salivating while typing this. The pie crust was buttery and flaky like a shortbread cookie. The pumpkin squash filling was sweet and salty which which reminded me of a salted caramel. I could also taste cinnamon with a hint of nutmeg in every bite.
