Good burgers, but raised prices.. This place is Fatburger, not because it's bathed in grease, but because they're big. If you come here, which has a good location, order a Fat on the Char with Fat fries and enjoy. If your really hungry, order a King on the Char with fries. This is an older chain of fast food burger restaurants that attempts to set itself apart from larger chains by providing both a more "old fashioned" experience and less generic burgers. French Fry Review: They offer both skinny fries and (of course) fat fries. The skinny fries are standard fast food fries similar to McDonalds but you can order them somewhat crisper ("well done"). They are potentially greasier than average and not fresh (frozen). The fat fries are large, bland mushy fries that were only slightly improved when ordered well done. Living within blocks of this place, I never ate at it until pulling a double shift at work and being exhausted and famished. So I walked here and genuinely wanted chili cheese fries. Lo and behold, it's on the option. I wasn't in the mood for burgers, but boy oh boy, they have options for the size of your burgers!!! The friend weren't so memorable, but the great customer service that was provided here is what will bring me back in the future. I didn't catch the girl's name that took my order, but she was very thorough in reviewing one's orders and if there isn't a person waiting to order, she's busy checking on patrons and wiping tables. Food was pretty good, this was my first time here. I wanted to try it out just because I'd heard the burgers were good. It was. I ordered a small fatburger with pickles and sweet potato fries. I didnt know they automaticaly put relish on their burgers..and no ketchup. bleeecchhkk I wasnt excited to taste that on my burger but I left it on to get the true experience anyway. I had a horrible experience when I went into this fat burger on Saturday night. I ordered chilli cheese fries and a burger. The chilli was old and thick and cold, it looked at least over a day old, and the bun on my burger was stale and hard like a rock. I took a couple bites from the chilli fries, and it was horrible. I returned the food and my first instinct was to ask for a refund but the ladie was nice enough to make my order again. I paid roughly $15 dollars for some food that was not fresh and not made to order. Fast forward to the next day, I woke up and had the runs all day and was forced to call out sick to work the next day. My stomach is still sore. I complained to Corporate and A guy called me with very little empathy and told me that he looked at the camera and can assure me that the food was fresh and kept saying no one else was sick. He acted a if he didn't believe me, It's all good, I will never eat there again, and I hope lots of people read this and boycotts that location. read more

I'm not really a fan of burgers. And this place doesn't really strike me as being the cream of the crop. And my coworkers that I normally eat lunch don't seem to really like this place. But I do. I used to not. Or more specifically I didn't like the Fatburger that opened up in University Village near UC Riverside. I felt that they put way too much relish on the burgers. That doesn't seem to be a problem at this location. My frequent order is the Turkeyburger with Bacon, Egg, and Cheese. The egg sometimes makes the meal challenging to eat and messy to hold since the egg is so hot and somewhat less viscous (the yolk) then the other materials in the burger. I can tell myself I'm eating a healthy turkeyburger but then I'm making it a little less healthy by adding the egg and cheese. So maybe it's a wash... Burger with additions (egg, cheese, bacon, etc) can run you close to $10. And then fries and a drink put you over the top. Not the cheapest... It would be nice if those additions weren't each a buck extra. This place is half a block from where I work so it's super convenient to get to. And its never too busy to have enough empty seating inside or outside to accomodate me and my coworkers during the lunching hour. We only come here late at night. It's one of the only fast food places with a 24/7 dining room. Maybe it's different during the day, but it always takes us forever to get our order. There's three employees and not that many customers and sometimes we end up waiting 15 to 20 minutes for our order. I don't think we've ever waited less than 10. Sometimes the food is overcooked or just not well-prepared. The restaurant is always freezing at night too. We still occasionally go there when we're tired of going to the three other places around here that are open late, but we generally try to avoid this location. They very rarely change there menu as they have there loyal base! I happen to like lettuce wraps, In And Out does them, The Habit, Carls JR. even Jack In the Box!! Fatburger no!! I must say the quality and taste does compare with Fat Burger major improvements were made!! The burger at the Habit over 200 locations strong now, does have the better burger, and taste over Fatburger!!! Cant compare! In my opinion, better quality food all around, and not greasy! The Fat Burger grill you could use to give your car a lube, and oil change for the next two years! I mean greasy!!! Not that Im into health food, but over the others the most greasy!! Hands down best turkey burger I've ever had. I get it with everything on it, including egg. It's so juicy and flavorful until the very last bite. I have always found their hamburgers and service here to be most excellent. Paul, the employee whom I have dealt with the most, has consistently been polite and on the mark regarding my order specifics. Yes, there is a little wait for the food but that's because they cook it on the spot and it never disappoints. Yes, the price may be above the norm for burgers and fries but it's well worth it hands down for the quality of taste and large portion sizes. I haven't had fatburger in probably 10 years and man was I missing out. It's not as good as In-n-out, but it's damn close. I love the freshness of the LTP and the extra pickle/onion relish or whatever on it really makes the burger. Pickle/Relish is such an underrated ingredient on a burger. The sharp tartness of it is so perfect. The fat fries and chili cheese fries were also perfect. Perfect amount of chili and cheese on the fries. They got a one-button soda machine here. Looking for a place to eat late night in LA is hard, believe it or not. Good thing I remembered Ice Cube singing about the fat burger! We found this place and the burger was soo good. The onion rings were actually onions fried. The small burger was just right, relish hit the spot, I love relish on my burgers! The sizes for the burgers are hilarious S, M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL. Hahaha i made a joke telling the people that were with me to eat their size hahaha. They also have a challenge, with probably 20 patties hahahahahah. Well, they also have a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine at this location, which means they have 100+ drinks available from the high-tech touchscreen soda fountain. This location is more like an old-time burger stand. The dining room is a bit small, and can get rather loud when more than a couple groups of diners are inside. However, there is a nice, large outdoor dining area. Parking can be difficult at times, unfortunately. But none of this detracts much from the experience. read more

Sorry, but $21 for two combos? Two burgers, two orders of fries, and two drinks, $21?? And the food isn't as good as I remember it when I last had Fatburger 14 years ago. (Yes, I remember exactly when, because a man I was dating back then used to take me there regularly.) On top of that, about a week later, a friend and I went to In-N-Out and we were saying how much better I-N-O is than Fatburger and a guy at the next table joined in the conversation saying that the Fatburger we were describing (14402 Ventura Bl) is dirty and the employees regularly take out the trash, sweep, clean the bathrooms, and don't wash their hands after doing those tasks before going back to food preparation! Ewwwwww! This Fatburger is on Ventura at Van Nuys. Trust me on this - drive 30 seconds more and go to the In-N-Out that is on Van Nuys just north of Ventura. Sure, you can't get a fried egg on your burger at In-N-Out but the food is better, half the price, and the employees actually give a damn. read more

Truth be told, I am not a foodie. I often miss the greasy diners of Detroit, where the cooks fry eggs in their pajamas and the atmosphere says "Eat or get the fuck out". The waitstaff speak horrible english, I'm sure the only words they know are the rough pronunciation of the words on the menu. But your burgers come on time and humongous. Some people hate the taste, and it all boils down to personal burger preferance. I like a burger with it's own zip code, one that is activley trying to destroy my body on the way down. I like my burgers greasy, tasty, and packed with meat. So if your someone who prefers Inn and Out, and thinks that that is what fast food should be, then go there, and stay away from our greasy late night dives. Nothing could be further from the clean, all white, lean atmosphere of Inn and Out. You don't go there for the seating, or the ambiance. You go there for an excellent burger, and a crazy adventure.
