While waiting I watched the cook put raw shrimp in the deep fryer then use that exact same hand without changing gloves to handle cooked french fries. He took the cooked french fries with the same hand he grabbed the raw shrimp seconds prior and made 2 orders of fries. Placing them in brown boxes. I asked for a refund. Cheap eatery with great food. Their menu offers burgers and hot dogs. Simple menu but it hits all the right spots. I tried the chili cheese hot dog with fries. The chili was pretty flavorful. The fries were my favorite, they were just the right size with the right crunch and perfectly seasoned. I also tried the charred hot dog, which is where they press it down on the grill for that slightly smoky flavor. This was pretty good, a typical Chicago hotdog with all the right condiments. Worst "char" dog I've ever had. Only went here because I've heard so many great reviews about their dogs and burgers. The char dog tasted like a plain hot dog. The burger was alright but the sauce wasn't that good. I couldn't tell if it was their sauce or the cheese sauce, but one of them had an odd taste. I ordered an ooey gooey and a super ooey gooey for takeout and specifically told the gentleman on the phone to not add a specific ingredient to the ooey gooey burger due to allergies. Upon pick up I didn't see the requested ingredient removed on the receipt so I thought maybe they verbally communicated the request. After getting home to eat. Super casual spot in the Lincoln Park neighborhood. The burgers here are magnificent. My beef was pin, just like I love it. I had mine with an egg and it was just awesome. This place was so wonderful!!!! I took my boyfriend here to try an authentic Chicago hot dog (which he loved) and was very pleased to find that not only do they have a veggie dog, but they have a HOMEMADE veggie dog - how cool is that? We were both very happy. My boyfriend also tried a shake and shrimp, which he thought were phenomenal. More than the food, the people were fantastic. There were four wonderful, fun, funny, lovely people working that night and we joked and turned the place into a karaoke hall. It's a small shop, but with some outdoors space with benches and tables that probably makes it a good hang out spot during warmer months. This review is soley based on the burger. I'll tell you right now, the fries were whatever. Anyways, the burger was WOWOWWOWOWOW. I can only imagine Paradise Pup being just as good or better but the Charred burger at Fatso's was PHENOMENAL. Had that perfect charred off the grill flavor and the patties were juicy. I need to try this place again. It can't be that amazing can it? But my initial reaction to this place is wowowowowowowow. So surprised by how great this place was. The fact that their noodles were al dente and not mush Mike most places, puts them as my favorite Mac and cheese I've ever had. Their place is so cool. Their walls have different paint drawings that you can take pictures with yourself or with your friends. They have a table and chair outside which you can eat and enjoy the fresh air. If you look inside of the place they have a long table with many chairs which you can sit on if you don't have a companion. Also if you are waiting in your order.
