When we lived in Levittown there was a Hurricane wings on Hempstead Turnpike. It's now long gone but I always liked them better than that other big wing chain. That's why when we passed this location in a recent outing, I knew we needed to try it out. I got what use to be my usual, the cyclone boneless wings and it was just as I remember. They cyclone sauce is hot sauce mixed with ranch. The sides left something to be desired but you don't go there for their sides. You go for the wings and the sauce and the friendly fun, shipwrecked themed atmosphere. The people are nice and friendly and we enjoyed our lunch before making our way back home. read more

Love the taste of Hurricane wings and knew that coming here would totally be worth the visit!! There was a lot of open tables and seats, so we got seated easily. Our server left us for a long time and took almost 25 minutes before we got our orders taken. The wings were all cooked very well. My favorite sauces (despite not being a spice lover) is from their Signature sauces list: Firecracker (which tastes creamy and ranch-flavored but with some sweet chili flavors) and Dynamite (spicy honey mustard taste) as they are delicious. We got a great deal ordering on a Monday because there are daily specials *highly recommended to look at their daily deals. We were able to order 10 wings for $12.99 so we did about 4 orders of that!! They're the same price if you get boneless or bone-in. Both options tasted great, really just depends on how you want to eat them. The fries are extra on the side and are also fried well. Other sauces that were yummy are Mild and the BBQ (no spice at all and was a nice hint of sweetness). The classic flavors also hit well and were very yummy! A random plus about these wings is that even if you eat them as leftovers a couple of days later, they don't go soggy or shrink like other places!!! This was our favorite wing place. We loved that wings were good, celiac friendly and reasonably priced. Recently ordered two 20 wing meals (40 wings total) Buffalo and coco loco, with the added sides fries and coleslaw. The total was almost $90. The price has Definitely gone up. Was extra mad when I see catering menu when I pick up wings and it's 100 wings for $109. So SIXTY more wings for 20$ more? Should have just ordered catering. Anyway , get home and they gave us Buffalo and garlic Parmesan instead of coco loco. So already even more annoyed. But the last straw was everyone complaining how dry they were and flavorless. Normally they are awesome. Like so dry that it was as if each wing was cleaned of any extra bbq sauce. On top Of that everyone's stomach hurt for 2 days. I mainly always come here for the wings and they do not disappoint. I enjoy the bone-in and boneless wings and usually go for the meal with two orders of fries for my sides. The wings are relatively meaty and aren't over-drenched in sauce. The boneless option has a good amount of chicken in them and a good balance of breading. The fries have a nice crisp to them as well. Nowadays I usually come here in the middle of the afternoon so it's not too packed. The wait time for food is pretty average. The sauces for the wings has been limited to two but I guess that's ok. I usually go for teriyaki and a buffalo sauce. Portion sizes are reasonable but I think the price has definitely gone up in recent memory - much like everything else in the world. Overall, this place is still a classic favorite for me whenever I'm in the Hauppauge area on Long Island. Some visits are better than others but it's still nice to come home to a good plate of wings and fries in the neighborhood. read more

Came here with my boyfriend for our weekly date night. Sorry in advance for no pictures...we were hungry! We were greeted right away and sat on a high-top in the bar area. To start, we had nice ice cold beers. After a quick look of the menu we decided on wings and firecracker shrimp for an appetizer. Firecracker shrimp was great! It had the right amount of spice and was a generous portion for an appetizer. For wings, we were going to get an order of 10 each. But then after looking at the menu it made much more sense to just order the option of 20 as it was $5 cheaper. For flavors, you are only given a choice of two. For our two we picked coco loco and boss sauce. Coco loco was supposed to be spicy...but it wasn't spicy at all. It was good, but not spicy. Boss had a nice kick. We still had room for dessert and got funnel fries. They are limited time for the summer I believe. They were yummy as well and was served with a chocolate dipping sauce. Service was great. Wow!! My husband and i did take out from Hurricane Grill and wings last night and it was AWESOME!!! My husbands words about the food "this takes delicious all the way above the moon! On a scale of one to ten its to the moon!" The rubs were cooked to perfection. We got a rack of honey bbq ribs and i could literally cut them with a butter knife. They were So tender!!! At one point the meat literally fell off the bone!! They werent drowned in sauce which was nice and they were absolutely delicious!! We also got onion rings which were big and crispy and the garlic parm fries. Let me tell you about the garlic parm fries!! They are AMAZING! They take their regular fries and put them in their garlic parm wing sauce and then the deliciousness happens! So yummy!! We also ordered boneless wings and they were delicious as well. We got mild and teriyaki sauces on them. It was excellent. Oh yeah and cant forget the fried pickles! They were plentiful and fried to perfection. The sauce for the fried pickles is the cyclone sauce so too spicy for me but my hubby loved it! Plus i dont think the pickles really needed the sauce because they were excellent on their own! I have been here a few times. It is close to my new office and my boss seems to like it. The team has been here a few times for lunch. The staff is always friendly. It is your standard chain. Wings are big on the menu. Sandwiches and burgers. Some salads and kind of a California mexican style as well. I had a chicken rice bowl thing and the chicken philly. Both were good. Exactly as expected. Everyone I've gone with seems to enjoy it for what it is. Will you have the best meal of your life? I hope not. Will you have a standard chain meal? So far...every time. We decided to stop in despite some of the negative reviews, it seems that some of the experiences here were self-inflicted a few others could be legit. I mean if I want something cooked a certain way I order them that way even if it's against the staff's recommendation. I like my wings crispy and naked with the sauce on the side and that's how I got them, I had to laugh when I read one review stating that the wings were too "big" I'm sure the complaint would have been the same if the wings happened to have been too small lol well my wings were just right. There are so many flavors here to choose from I suggest splitting your order using several different sauces just keep in mind there's a minimum order of five wing per flavor. We also enjoyed an order of Hurricane Nachos to start they were okay but we ran out of toppings long before we ran out of chips it would be nice if the toppings were layered through out the chips like some places do, as for as the beer it was almost as cold as I like it so if you enjoy every sip cold I suggest ordering the 16 oz serving verses the 22 oz and just have more of them. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen last night? Ordered my usual "fish tacos" and couldn't even get my teeth through the soft flour shell. Decided to scrape the contents on to a plate and dear Lord.... cabbage laden with mayonnaise-tasteless aside from the cabbage. The mahi mahi was so over cooked, it was like chewing an eraser. Returned without issue and was taken off my bill. Overheard another customer who ordered Nachos ask the server "what is this sauce?" After a four hour drive, we were quite hungry. Food was great-burgers, wings, fries. Amanda was our server. She was quick and pleasant!

I had a surprise party here the other day and they did an amazing job. I spoke with the owner who was very nice and he answered all my questions, let us go in the party room, and informed the waitresses about the plans. They even closed the party room door so we couldn't see the friends in there so it was more of a surprise. The waitresses were really nice and had good energy. The food was good, the coconut wings were the best. At the end, they brought the cake out/put candles in it and sang/ cut the cake for us. Great time and will be returning. read more

I have to say that I really liked it. I didn't have any big expectations judging from the previous mediocre Yelp reviews, so I was pleasantly surprised. A very laid back and casual eatery. We were pleasantly greeted by the hostess who led us to our booth and informed us that Rebecca would be taking care of us. Rebecca was the star of the show. Her customer service skills were impeccable. Being this was our first time trying HGW, she took her time with us, told us a little about the chain and went over the menu pointing out popular dishes and offering us recommendations. Also brought us out a few samples of their hot sauces to try. So pleasant. We ordered an array of items such as Manhattan style Conch Chowder (pretty damned good!), wings of course (5 Jamaican Jerk, 5 Garlic Inferno -their hottest choice), a build your own burger, and a Chicken Margarita Rice Bowl. All were really decent, especially the burger which tasted very like they use high quality sirloin and came on a bakery fresh roll with a mound of fresh produce piled on top. So good and all reasonably priced. Everything was 12 bucks and under. The decor is cool and very much like Caribbean beach bum. My only recommendation would be to lower the lights a little and maybe put some votives on the tables to create some type of atmosphere in there. It's all a little too brightly lit and gives the feel like your eating inside of a warehouse with the open layout of the place. I would definitely go back and easily recommend Hurricane Grill and Wings if you haven't tried it yet. I placed an online order through the Hurricane website for my Superbowl party. While the order was placed on the Hurricane website, the food is delivered via the DoorDash service. I was notified when my food was ready for delivery, and soon after, the doordash driver called me stating he could not find my house and cancelled my order. When I called Hurricane grill to explain the issue they quickly tried to resolve the problem. They re-made my order and the owner even hand delivered it to my house!! I don't usually walk away from a wings place remembering the sauce, but Hurricane Wings has me still salivating for that Buffalo Bleu! We came here as a group of 8 and had a great time. We were seated right away (Sunday afternoon) at a large booth. Our waitress was amazing- so sweet, attentive and answered all our questions with ease. She also helped split our check which was rad. The food was awesome-ish. I throw in the "ish" because of one tiny improvement for my own personal needs. The Buffalo Bleu sauce was divine- buffalo sauce with little chunks of blue cheese. I also ordered the Gold Rush flavor- a spicy honey mustard- equally awesome and tasty. Now for the "ish" part. At most of the wings places I go to, I order a Mac n Cheese as a side. There's something comforting for me when eating spicy food to each cheese/dairy to help balance the flavor- so I'm not crying like a wimp. Hurricane does have Mac n Cheese- but I had to order it off the kids menu- and it was Kraft Mac n Cheese. It would be such a major plus if they brought a hearty mac n cheese to the menu. So, I'm from patchogue and decided to drive to the hauppauge location to pick up 50 wings for superbowl. The girl on the phone was obviously miserable with orders coming in, I understood but she was still a major B**** on the phone. I was told to give them a half hour, gave them at least 45 and drove all the way there. The waiting area was packed and they had everyone's orders on a long table in the back, there were a good 15 orders just sitting there waiting to be picked up by the customers at the door. The two idiots at the front podium couldn't handle matching names to orders and when I repeatedly told them my order was for boneless wings they still tried giving and charging me for old looking bone in wings. Every employee was dumber than a box of rocks. The manager (or equally moronic older fella who finally came to try and clear things up after people had been getting aggravated after 15 minutes of sitting there) offered to redo my order. I had already been there for and extra 20 minutes with too much to do to wait another half hour for these dumbasses to get it right. I left with out an apology or a box of wings. I drove from 20 minutes always to wait 20 minutes for absolutely NOTHING. The place was empty with a few customers at the bar and a doorway jam packed with miserable people dealing with the worst managed place I've ever seen. No. Just a hard no. This is my fourth time coming to this Hurricanes location and I don't know why I don't learn my lesson. To be fair, each time I've gone it's a party of 10+, but we're almost always the ONLY customers there. We get to the restaurant and were seated right away, back right corner as always, which I'm starting to think is the cursed corner. We put in drink orders (all but 2 waters), and then our food orders, which included a few apps and entrees. Everything was going great. Then 20mins goes by. Then half an hour, followed by 45mins. We finally get the 20 boneless wings that we ordered after an hour of waiting, only to find that they were 15 on the bone wings. I'm not so boujee that I desperately need boneless wings, but since they charge 5/10/15/20 wings, we asked for the extra 5 to be boneless. The rest of the food came out a little after that, but the tainted image that I originally had this place was done. The food tasted reheated and the other set of wings that we ordered (which didn't come with the original order) were dry AF!
