Bushwick has no shortage of good pizza, it's true, but Fazio's? This place actually pulls at my heartstrings. The very first time I bit into their eggplant parmigiana, I teared up because it instantly transported me back to my Sicilian's grandmother's kitchen (incidentally, she also lived in Bushwick for 40 years). The unmistakeable savoriness + sweetness, I'd have sworn she prepared it. Sicilian-style means your parmigiana isn't suffocated by 5 pounds of chewy Polly-O mozzarella - - there's no mozzarella at all. And trust me, you won't miss it. Santo, the owner, takes great pride in his food and is super affable to boot. One visit, he insisted on giving me a sample of their cannoli cream - - needless to say, adding a cannoli to my order is now routine. Grazie, Santo, your food is the definition of comfort for me. Jojo and Kyle are the cream of the crop when it comes to service. They are amazing with recommendations and were very prompt and on the ball. I ordered a regular slice with pepperoni added. The total came to ~$6.00 which is WELL worth it because the quality and taste is there. I make my own pizza. Not deep dish, but still. You can tell when time goes into a pizza. I will be coming back here soooo much since it is two streets away from me. It beats the over rated prince street pizza, a lot lighter and bigger for what you pay. New slice shop in Bushwick with some excellent Sicilian slices. There are 4 or 5 different specialty pies, all with toppings different enough that make them worth trying. The pepperoni is the definite winner ($3.50 for a slice), but the white slice with sausage is also great. Try the regular Margherita Slice ($2.75) too for something lighter and also satisfying. They also have some other specialties like Rice Balls and Calzones too. We tried the Chicken Parm Sandwich ($8), which was not particularly good, so stick to the slices or try some of the other items if you want something different. read more

According to my cousin, this is the best pizza he has had in New York. Let me tell you about my cousin in this review! This man has been eating pizza every day since he has gotten to New York. So I have to talk about him as I write this review. He is a wild man who loves pizza. He is bearded and he is of short stature. But his list of pizza places is a tall stature. I'm not sure how long this place has been around, but man, it's one of the better pizza spots in Brooklyn if you want a richly flavored (almost tingly) simply slice. One set plain. One set with pepperoni. Delicious. Neapolitan Slice. Sicilian Slice. You can't go wrong guys. I've had the best pizzas of Naples, Italy. I've had the best Chicago can offer. Like one reviewer said below, the pizza is FANTASTIC (especially the Grandma pie) but the service is horrible. Tonight, I ordered via Seamless, which includes my primary phone number for contact. I received a call at 8:30 pm, which was on time for delivery, so I'm expecting it to be the delivery person; however, it is someone from the restaurant giving me a stern, combative talking to about how the delivery person "has been calling for 15 minutes" with no answer. I say this is impossible because I've had cellular service and my phone has been with me. In fact, I had just finished another phone call. Then, the rude restaurant employee changed his story and said it "had been two minutes of calling." Again, I said this was impossible but I would be right out. He had already hung up on me at that point. Unacceptable. I called back and received this rude individual on the other end. I asked to speak with a manager and he gave me more rude rigamarole about how one wasn't available. Finally, after some prodding, he said the manager would be back tomorrow. I plan to put a call in, but wanted to raise a warning here. Of course, when I went outside to pick up the pizza, the delivery person was on a different phone call and just handed the pizza to me and left. My neighborhood is lacking on the food scene. So my boyfriend and I are venturing to look for hole in the wall places that are delicious! We found this cute pizza place less than a mile from us called Fazio's, and we loved it. AND I got to admit, I like this place better than Prince's Sicilian pizza. It's less oily and the pepperoni are more crispy instead of thick and chewy like Prince's. I love the breading too. The bottom was crispy and if you look on the bottom it is nicely toasted. The only reason why I didn't give it five stars was because it was a bit luke warm. It wasn't as piping hot as I would want it to be. I like my pizza hot, and the cheese pulling from the crust. The specialty slices are legit here. If you came expecting plain cheese and pepperoni you might be in for a surprise. The have those but so much more. Today I had two Sicilian slices, a broccoli rabe, sausage, and fresh mozzarella. Then a tomato, onion and fresh mozzarella. Both were excellent. The crust is dark and provides a good crunch when you dive in. The menu is small but what they have they do well. Its mostly a high end slice joint but they also do sandwiches, calzones, and stomboli. There are a couple of tables outside on the sidewalk. This place was phenomenal. Last night, myself and a lady friend decided to order some pizza. She was not convinced that you want to eat any, but after seeing this pie, she quickly changed her mind. The total came to $24, and arrived in approximately 45 minutes. The crust was thin, but not too thin, and cooked to perfection. The sauce...was divine. I'm sure if you scoured every "best pizza" list you could find, Fazio's isn't going to be on it, but I say a very good argument could be made to give them one of those notable mention slots. The regular slice was good, but nothing special, your average NY slice. If I had just had that, it would be a run of the mill 3 star review. But of course, there's no possible way I could ever muster up the self control to just have one slice, which in this case worked out great, because the Sicilian slices are the real gems here, and definitely worthy of some praise. It's not your typical Sicilian slice here, I would say it's much more like focaccia bread, with sauce and cheese. Which really made for a great slice, and something relatively unique, at least for the NYC area. With the exception of a few heavy hitters (like: DiFara's, Emmy Squared and Prince Street,) I'd say Fazio's could hold it's own against pretty much any other Sicilian slice in the area. read more

But delivery driver gave my sister a very stern almost inappropriate talking to in person that was slightly scary about how he can't walk up steps in building and it's "got to stop".... we order from there once a month. But that's what delivery is. That's why we tip the drivers. He was carrying on that he couldn't do it anymore. It's fine if he called and said I'm downstairs but he never did that. Obviously delivery is an issue so I'll have to change restaurants. It was very bizarre. Probably the best Sicilian slice you're going to get in this neck of the woods. Nice and crispy on the bottom, reminds you of pan pizza. To make this a classic Yelp review I'll talk about something else. Went to buy dough to make pizza at home - pro-tip - every pizzeria in NYC will sell you a ball of dough if you are feeling lazy but want to make your own thing. They refused to sell any dough balls because "it's the weekend," I kind of get it but kind of don't. You guys going to run out of dough if you sell 2 dough balls? If so maybe you need to reconsider your process. Also, for what it is worth, the employees were not wearing masks.
