Um gross. Came here late night while visiting Norfolk. The front end was nice and casual, not very crowded at both the bar or in the dinning area. Server was nice. We ordered the fried calamari, small Greek Pizza and Grilled Tuna with broccoli and fries. Went to the bathroom... Decorated walls with naked women. Saw an old photo of Madonna topless in black and white with a pussy cat from her early days. Very creative. Glanced at the kitchen. It reminded me of my high school cafeteria kitchen with the staff dressed in baggy pants, sloppy shirts and sweating heavily. Didn't look professional. The biggest let down was the food. The fried calamari appetizer was tasteless and didn't have any crunch (boiled texture). For the main, I ate about 20% of what was on my plate. The tuna was slathered in this disgusting glossy brown sauce that had a sweet tangy after taste. It overpowered the tuna. The broccoli was overcooked, mushy and tasteless. Thankfully I was not too hungry. My server was really nice. I think she sensed that I didn't like the food and did not charge for drinks. For the price of the food, I was expecting better quality. I would sum up this place as low-grade cafeteria style food at higher end restaurant prices. Won't return for the food, maybe for drinks only. read more

I have been going here to eat for many many years and never would have thought to try the filet mignon. It was recommended by a friend and I have to say it is amazing. We all ordered ours medium rare and it arrived perfectly. You could cut it with a butter knife. And the sauce with it....let's just say they should bottle it and sell it. Girlfriend announced she was taking me to dinner and the destination was a surprise. We pulled into Fellini's at 9 o'clock on Sunday night, I was starving. We started with a basket of fried oysters that were lightly breaded and fried to perfection as were the calamari, girlfriend was surprised find out not all squid was cooked to rubber as this was flavorful and very tender. The sauce was perfect, it tasted of a dill horseradish, delicious. For an entree we split a plate of Shrimp Alfredo, along with the cream and parmigiana this had fresh mushrooms and tomatoes, gf was blown away, as I was later that evening for suggesting the shrimp. Washed down with an ice cold Corona and everyone ended up satisfied. Service was excellent, attentive but not smothering. Good job Fillini's. read more

I give Fellini's one star for the managerial service. We went there as a party of 10 arriving at 6:30 p.m. We did not get our food until around 7:45 p.m.. My 10 year old son did not get his food until 15 mins after that, which was close to 8:00 p.m. And that point I asked the waitress that I wanted to speak with the manager because other people had gotten there after us and received their food before us. Plus the waiting was ridiculous. A couple of mins later, she comes back and says that they will not charge us for our son's meal. But I told the waitress that it was not about getting a free meal and I still wanted to talk to the manager. But the manager, Brett, never came and brushed us off which speaks volume of his managerial skills. He would rather be at the bar talking to people ordering finger food and drinks than to talk to a table that was easily spending over $300. Our waitress, Emily, was wonderful and attentive and also very apologetic. I believe that it was not fair for Emily to deal with issues that the manager, Brett, should have been addressing and taking care of since it is his duty to address any concerns from paying customers. I also believe that since we were the only Hispanic group there, it was a big factor as to why we were treated differently from the manager, Brett. He did not even offer an excuse or apology as to why he would not come to our table since we can clearly see him from where we were seated. This left us baffled that behavior like this continues to happen because of your race. I just want everyone to know that if you are not Caucasian, you will be treated differently. That is what was shown in this experience we had today. This left a very bad taste in our mouths and we will never visit this restaurant ever again. Everyone has been now warned about the manager Brett at Fellini's. P.S. My money is just as green as everyone else's. read more

Really wanted to like this place because it's very convenient to our house, but unfortunately it wasn't very good at all. We ordered takeout...I had the manicotti, and the sauce was FILLED with huge onion chunks (to the point where it tasted like an onion flavored dish). It was way more than should be in regular marinara. My boyfriend ordered the baked ziti (with meat) and instead was given penne pasta with veggies and no sauce. Overall a very disappointing meal, especially for the price. Will not return. read more

Good place for pizza and pasta. We were a party of 3. Pretty good beer selection and the bacon wrapped scallops were top notch. I got the Louisiana pizza which was quite good, very thin crust and tasty. Wife had pasta w shrimp and andouille which she really enjoyed. Mom had a shrimp, pasta and marinara dish, the Shrimp Bernard, which she seemed to enjoy. Our experience at the resturant was not good. While this was not our first time here,we usually eat the pizza and the Greek salad. Comparatively, we love the pizza and the Greek salad is amazing. Tonight we ordered the shrimp and sausage dish and the Manicotti. The food was not good at all. The sausage and shrimp dish had no shrimp or sauce as described. It tasted like a microwave macaroni and cheese. The manacotti was bland and the sauce was not good. While sitting at the bar, we observed a very unprofessional waitress yelling at the bartender. Called in for a take out order, was told 10 minutes. Got there & proceed to go pick up my order. Young lady asked for my name, told her my name & it appears that my order did not get put in. She asked what I had ordered & told her spaghetti with meatballs. She put my order in & prints out the receipt for me and said "it'll be up in a few seconds!!!" When I looked online to order, it has angel hair with sauce, for meatballs, sausages, etc, there'll be extra charges. Welp. I visited Fellini's yesterday with about 18 of my coworkers. This restaurant is located in the Ghent section of Norfolk amongst a bunch of other locally owned eateries (that we should have gone to instead of Fellini's, ah, but I digress) We arrived at about 11:05 and the restaurant was totally empty. Upon opening the door, I smelled a very strong feces order that made me gag. Thankfully that smell was only in the lobby area, however there is a smell of just staleness throughout the entire restaurant. I can't recall our waitress' name, but she was VERY pleasant and her service was on point! She was a short blonde young lady with curly hair. My main issue is with the food and food quality. Many, MANY people complained about the food lacking flavor. At my table 1 person got the lasagna. She said the noodles were overcooked and it had ZERO taste. I watched her POUR salt and pepper on it and she still only ate maybe 5 bites. She also got the spinach - along with 5 other people. Everyone said the spinach was bland and had no taste (even though it was covered in parmesan cheese) and was COLD. 4 of my coworkers got the AMERICAN BURGER. It looked DELICIOUS. It was about 3/4 lbs of ground chuck, smothered with your cheese of choice, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle add bacon for an additional charge. I'm told that the burger was amazing. The only snafu was that one person ordered well done and they received a burger that was medium. This mistake was promptly fixed by our amazing waitress. NOW ON TO MY ORDER: I ordered the Greek burger. This is how the burger is described on their menu: Fresh ground chuck with an assortment of Mediterranean herbs, spices and onions topped with feta cheese and topped with a special sauce. WHAT I RECEIVED: A 1/4lb burger, well done (I ordered medium) with lettuce, tomato, onion and a DASH of feta cheese. A sprinkle. There were no Mediterranean herbs and spices. NONE!!! There was a special sauce that was on the side, similar to the sauce that come with gyros. It was served with cold French fries that reminded me of the fries that I was served in elementary school. *****I WAS UTTERLY DISAPPOINTED. DID YOU READ ABOVE WHERE I SAID THE AMERICAN BURGER WAS 3/4 LBS?!!WHY WAS THE GREEK BURGER 1/4 LB?? ***** There were numerous other infractions but after this major one, I became numb to the entire situation and wanted to go back to my desk to decompress. So this is where all the retired ladies go for lunch... Popped in today for a quick bite. I sat at the bar and ordered a Southwest chicken salad. Solid meal. Good sized salad with grilled chicken that was tender, juicy and loaded with flavor. Lots of local love throughout the hallway on your way to the restroom. Anything impactful in Norfolk posted in The Virginian-Pilot is framed on the wall. The mens bathroom has some risqué photos of women. Nothing to woo over but intriguing in a weird way. While my experiences here were less than memorable, I will remain objective by recommending that you try it out for yourself first. Had lunch here a day ago with my Army friend, his wife and their 6-month-old baby. Because they'd traveled all the way from Northern Virginia, I gracefully let them pick the place. This was the first restaurant I dined in when I first came to Virginia - and this was my second time here. I've been here eight years. Atmosphere 3/5 Alarm bells should set off when, during the lunch rush, there were only two other tables filled. If you ever see this, run the other way. Go to 7-Eleven if you have to. How crowded a restaurant is at rush hours speaks volumes of how the food is. Service: 5/5 The waitress was very gracious, always filling up the water when we needed it, and gave us the time to decide what we want. No complaints there. Food: 2/5 This is an Italian restaurant - but it's more like Italian American. We got the calamari to share and I got the lasagna. I was disappointed by both. The calamari was bland and wilty, and the batter seemed grainy. In fact, the three of us didn't finish that small appetizer. The lasagna was even less memorable. In a world in which freshness is king, this dish was a jester for it was laughable and incompetent. It was dry, lacked any tomato sauce and tasted like it was leftovers from the day before. I had about five bites and tapped out. Price: 3/5 I didn't lose an arm and a leg for eating there. Our total came out to be about $17 each before tips, and with drinks. But, remember, you get what you pay for. Because we didn't pay a lot, we certainly didn't get a lot, either, in terms of a culinary experience. The plus here is that, from what I hear, the bathroom has pictures of naked people as part of its decor - so if that's your kind of thing, go there. Or, you can just get some Chef Boyardee, heat it up in the microwave, close your door and curtains, and surf the Internet. ;) Bonus rating Baby cuteness factor: 7/5 She grabbed my face and gurgled and giggle and laughed, and had the cutest feet and the softness face, and attempted to put the menu in her mouth. This place was recommended by my girlfriend's mother for lunch and it did not disappoint. We all were very satisfied with our meals and the service was very prompt. We all ordered specialty pizzas and they were amazing. They also have a good selection of local beer and wine, which I throughly enjoyed. I have no complaints with this place and would return again. The only reason I don't rate this at five starts is because I did not explore the menu a great deal and have only been here once. read more

I love this place. The bacon wrapped scallops are one of my favorite things. How they get the bacon crispy and the scallops NOT over cooked is beyond me... but keep it up. From a full blown Italian meal, to just a pizza and beer, this is the place to take your friends. Especially on a cold winters day. The pizza is this crust and very good. The focaccia is unique - also thin crust but awesome!! The place is dark and calm - good for families and groups. Great for takeout as well. We had a family dinner a few week's ago when I was visiting my brother's Family in Norfolk, and I can't say enough positive stuff about the place. First off, I love the vibe...definitely the type of place where you can go for a fancy date night, a more casual quick bite after work or a family dinner with the young kids. The place has a large seating area with several different areas so you can be seated in a quiet corner for your date or the center of the action if you have the little ones in tow. Second, the service was great. Our waitress, whose name I can't remember, said she had been waiting tables at Fellini's (full or part time) for over 10 years. As a former waitress, this speaks volumes as it means the owners treat their staff right. And they should in this case as she was friendly, efficient and on top of everything. Third, the bar...so I will admit that I am a fan of a good cocktail. And this place makes some amazing ones. I tried both the Salty Cantaloupe and the Pineapple Margarita and both were awesome. I could go for a Salty Cantaloupe right now!!! Finally, the food. An Italian place is only as good as its food and Fellini's delivered. I had the Manicotti, and it was one of the best I have ever had. We had pizza and the mussels at the table as well, which I sampled, and both were delicious. This place is a must visit whether just visiting Norfolk like me or a native. I would make it a weekly visit if I lived closer. read more

This has a nice family feel to it. From the young and to the super old and regulars coming here for some decent food. Spacious too. Their specialties are the pizzas and pastas. I tried out their Pasta Corleone and they gave out some decent portions. They have limited quantities of beer, but they do have wine to enjoy with your meal. Don't know why there are negative reviews because I just had the best pizza yet in Norfolk! The key west, the bourbon street pizza and the spinach based ones were all yummy! Super thin crust and service was extraordinary around 1pm lunch time. Our waitresses took our orders brought our drinks out, they carry SmartMouth which is always a plus and other local and domestic beers. There's a pretty good wine list, this is not the place to get mixed drinks on a Friday night. Our group ordered salads, pizza and linguine and they all said it was superb. Ah, Fellinis... the oldie but the goodie. This place has been around for years but is new to me. Basically: I'm in love. Not only is their pizza seriously delicious (really. And it's different than the others - paper thin crust, different combinations but still so yummy) but their salads are great too! Try the Greek if you're a big feta cheese and kalamata olive-type. It's loaded with sundried tomatoes and peppers. It's really tangy and really good. The oriental chicken salad is great too, not the typical- the dressing is almost like a balsamic glaze? So good! They've yet to disappoint. And I sure hope they never do. Oh and on Wednesdays - it's Jazz night! Families flock in to listen to the sweet music while they eat.
