I've tried various PTs through my insurance, but this is the first time I invested in PT out of…read morepocket, and it was absolutely worth it. I felt like my body was twisted and unbalanced, but the PTs covered by my insurance weren't able to help me until the issue I had been expressing eventually led to a severe injury where I couldn't walk for about five days. The PTs would give me exercises that I could have easily found through ChatGPT or a simple Google search, and then send me to an aide. When I had questions, the aides often didn't know the answers. They gave me A LOT of at home exercises, almost a quantity over quality, hoping one works. Then I found Dr. Gary! He is very different from a typical PT. He listens carefully to all of my issues (pain and discomfort seemingly everywhere. I'm sure I sound like a hypochondriac ), and then gives me some really odd exercises that I would never have found on my own. Somehow, I always feel better afterward. He goes all the way down to the basics, even teaching me how to breathe to properly engage my core, when to breathe during an exercise, and exactly where I should be feeling each movement. It's not just "here are some exercises, go do them." He makes sure I understand why I'm doing them and what I should be feeling. He also consistently remembers to send me my homework, often with videos. With the other PTs I tried, I had to repeatedly hunt them down to get my exercises, so I ended up having to rely on memory. Dr. Gary also responds to my questions between sessions if I'm unsure about an exercise, which has been incredibly helpful in making sure I'm doing things correctly. What I appreciate most is how much he genuinely cares about learning and thinking critically. I can tell he is constantly processing what he's seeing and what I'm telling him during our sessions and trying to figure out the root cause of what's going on. He tests and retests his hypotheses until my body gives him feedback that he's on the right track. I'm incredibly thankful for Dr. Gary and the care he puts into his work. If you're dealing with something that feels "off" in your body, I truly believe your health is worth the investment. Don't wait until the problem becomes a serious injury like I did because of the limitations of the insurance system. Take the chance! you may be surprised by how much the right PT can help. From the very first visit, I could tell they understand (and cared) about all things movement. The staff is patient, polite and gentle in a way that made a very big difference for me when I started my recovery journey. Their guidance felt honest--there was zero pressure. I've been through a few physical therapy and rehab centers, and what gets me is how super frustrating it can be to relearn things that once felt automatic. The team here met me exactly where I was at, which meant more to me than I can put into words--especially during a pretty tough recovery. For me it was worth booking a handful of sessions to take advantage of the discounts. Overall, I'm grateful for the treament I've received. Highly recommend if you're looking for physical therapy that feels both personal and is effective.

So to deny visitation that was pre approved only able to state they won't prescribe medication but without reason as to why would mean they can't provide any other form of expertise in pain management so I guess thank god I didn't ask for an injection or they'd likely have me right into paralysis. Office staff were the most unprofessional I've encountered and hey the more patients dead, the more money from the government paid to not follow an oath to practice what they claim. Even worse, the measurements documented in the original operative report were contradicted by the actual imaging and surgical findings. This isn't speculation or opinion. It was proven by the surgeons who had to fix his work. Both hip components were put in incorrectly and needed replacement. He left me with a disaster that required major reconstructive surgery and a brutal recovery. Five years of pain because this doctor couldn't do the job correctly and couldn't accurately document what he had done. Incompetent, dishonest, and completely unacceptable. Stay away from this doctor.

Accurate rating description for two starts is "could've been better." This place only has PA/NP…read moreand no MD on site. They have the capability to draw blood and send to lab for stat orders. Unfortunately, what they lack ends up a longer list. The first MA was unable to get a vial of blood and said someone else would try on my other arm with a straight needed (vs butterfly). She left me without even putting a bandaid on the arm she poked and I had to struggle to put the bandaid on one handed while still maintaining pressure on it. Next MA comes and draws blood and when she's done she yelps I don't have a cotton ball (to put on the vein she just drew out of) and my blood is just pooling while she puts a bandaid on. Luckily I'm well versed enough to know I needed to put pressure on my bandaid. The NP who saw me was new to (per the MA) she really didn't put my mind at ease. Her expertise and knowledge seemed lacking based on the answers to my questions. First thing she asked me was, why are you here and not the ER? I told her my PCP sent me here because she didn't feel it necessitated a ER visit. She wanted me to be evaluated by YOU to assess and in your medical opinion, do I need to be seen further or what course of action next? She swabbed me for flu and covid and I verbally questioned her because I had isolated severe GI symptoms. She said sometimes those present wither GI only. Does it? I don't know, I'm not an MD but I'm also someone who works in healthcare and it didn't feel like the proper procedure. When I asked if she would be ordering any stool samples, I heard through my closed door "do we do that?". Ok, she's new, I'll give her that...but she comes back in and says "if you'd like to have the order for stool testing I'm happy to give that to you." Am I the md or am I the patient? I came here for your professional medical opinion! Do I?! So after I kindly communicated that I am looking to her for her opinion as the expert whether or not my symptoms necessitate an order, she still doesn't quite give me a direct answer! I haven't been to that many urgent cares, but I've come to see a trend that many of the urgent cares that are owned by a company with multiple locations don't have MD's on staff physically there. That said, I've also noticed the trend that many provide sub-par care.

Since January I had been recovering from a surgery due to a torn acl and meniscus. I was going to some physical therapy place for about 4 months and doing everything they were instructing me, unfortunately, I was progressing very slowly. At the time I assumed it was normal because of the seriousness of my injury. Months passed by and I still had difficulty walking. I stopped going to that place and began coming to Fema Physical Therapy Center. They welcomed me with smiling faces and were eager to answer any questions I had about my recovery.Their massage therapist was excellent and friendly. The exercises have helped extraordinarily as well as their machines. Within a month I'm able to walk and my motion is improving at its best. Overall, the doctor and her assistants are friendly, willing to aid, and thoroughly answer any concerns I had. Today was my last session of "frozen shoulder" treatment at FEMA Physical Therapy that I have been doing for 8 weeks. I have very good results and I want to say thank you to all the people who cared for me. Siyamac Rastawan patiently showed a lot of exercises to do at home, Fema was like a hospitable hostess in her home - paying attention to everybody and everything and always looking great! Not a single moment of my time was wasted in waiting, even if I came a little early. Maria and Elena were the staff who treated me - experienced, friendly, ready to support and always asking what was really comfortable for me. My father has been going to FEMA physical therapy for over 15 years. He talks so highly of them and gets the most individualized care. He's a senior citizen and has kept in great shape by his regular visits to Fema PT. He's often told me how they squeeze him in when he feels he needs to be seen right away. Clearing what could be an ongoing issues to a healing session with little to no return visits for that particular issue. Unfortunately, more issues come up with aging but knowing Fema is there to support healing has made his golden years come with much greater ease. Sending a heartfelt thank you to a Fema and her outstanding staff for the top notch care for my father. Wish I lived closer so I can come regularly. This is a very busy place most of the time so the one-on-one experience is not always available but it isn't a gym with person trainers either. I've been going for about 6 months (with a few more to go). I am always greeted with a smile and a hello, which makes me feel welcome. Whenever I have had a question or needed information or wanted more home exercises to do, someone was always there to answer my questions completely. The massage therapists they have are really good at what they do. It is a painful experience but that's what happens when they do their job right! Thanks to them I have made progress in the time I have been there. I am able to walk again which is a great feeling! A big thank you to the Therapists and all the employees at FEMA. :) read more

This facility is well staffed with very competent therapists & other employees. Everyone is quite cordial. It makes you feel valued & that your personal need WILL be met. They are following ALL the safety rules & regulations regarding This Coronavirus. My first time there, my temperature was taken. Throughout the Center there's hand sanitizers & all the equipment is spaced at least 6 feet apart for use & cleaned after use if appropriate. They even have private rooms for patient massages, etc. No mask, no Service & of course all the therapists & other employees wear masks. Their Rest Rooms have ample supplies & their air hand dryer is super powerful! It's a sheer pleasure to be a "patient" there. I look forward to my bi-weekly appointments. read more

Over the last 20 years I have been to more than a dozen different physical therapy offices. The one that has achieved the best results is Fema Physical Therapy Center in Anaheim. The initial consultation is always informative and spot on. My treatment plans have been more productive here than elsewhere when using e-stem and massage along with exercise and stretching. Another important aspect is how efficient the business operates. While there, I am under constant supervision during the entire process, resulting in excellent time management. At my last appointment I began unable to extend my left leg and by the end I was able to fully extend it. I look forward to improving my health thanks to Fema Physical therapy Center. read more

I was extremely disappointed with this place and immediately called my insurance to switch. The most disturbing factor was the DPT didn't even diagnose me. She spent all of 2 minutes(not an exaggeration) with me in the room before having me do exercises. Didn't palpate or test me for anything. Then my exercises included a vibrating platform, a calf stretch and foot massager (I kid you not). I was in there for my neck and lumbar... I went back a second time just to make sure they weren't having an off day, same routine, nothing personalized. Wasn't even given home exercises. I do not recommend. read more

I was referred here by my Dr for an old whiplash injury. I'd been having quite a bit of pain in my neck and back from this old injury. The physical therapist gave me some stretches and exercises. They were easy to do, but really pushed me to the limits of my mobility. However, they really worked. I was already feeling some relief the same day! And, I can feel my shoulders and neck getting stronger to support the injured area. I love here! She is so positive, and encouraging. I took my daughter here as recommended by her insurance, not knowing what to expect. We got an appointment right away, and were quickly greeted by Mac, her physical therapist. He was so knowledgeable, taking the time to show her specific exercises to do, stretches to do, etc. The machine exercises were a great help, but I truly believe that it was the extra care of the electrical stimulation, massages, and stretches that helped send her on her way to healing. Horrible! Small lobby packed with people without the ability to social distance. Patient used a machine and they wanted me to use it after that patient without the machine being disinfected! The clinic is a little confusing because they use 2 different office spaces, but I have been in this building before, also for another car accident issue in which I needed imaging done. Since it is newer, everything is modern, clean, and bright. However, I felt like I was a little pressured into getting PRP done, and I overheard that this clinic mostly only does injections. It seemed a little excessive in my case to be getting steroids either. The doctor was informative and did answer my questions about the procedure. It was insightful, but I didn't end up receiving any treatment in the end because my case manager actually told me later that one injection is 15-18k, and that my coverage limit had already been met.

Labs are always incorrect because when I had quest doing my labs with better insurance, the results were always correct but somehow with LabCorp they're always incorrect so something is wrong with our system. I'm really frustrated right now. Dr. Kim was a great doctor. I appreciate all his help and everything but I don't appreciate the incorrect labs from LabCorp again when it's showing one thing when I take my medication every single day and its showing I don't how is that even possible?? This entire thing makes no sense. Do you guys not want to help people with anxiety? Do I recommend this medical facility maybe I like them I did like them but today I'm very upset so I'm not happy with my appointment. How can somebody with severe panic attacks and anxiety not be given their medication just because the results are incorrect. Makes absolutely no sense to me at all, I'm very unhappy and frustrated beyond belief. That being said, it's probably not hard to be a whole lot better than what I've experienced anecdotally. After a trip to the ER, I discovered I had two herniated discs. Of course, the HMO ER wanted to do as little as possible. They were ready to just prescribe pain meds and discharge me. The issue was I could barely walk and had to use a walker to get in there. My brother, a medical doctor, reached out and said I could potentially have spinal injury. This let to an MRI which indicated I had two herniated discs. The ER scheduled me for a follow up with my primary care doctor the day after who then scheduled me for physical therapy with the soonest appointment being two weeks away. Two weeks was simply too long to wait to get back on my feet. Given that it was very difficult to move let alone travel, I had to find a chiropractor geographically near by which led me here. I did have to pay out of pocket, but I decided to make the most of it with a package deal. This was probably the best decision I've made in a while. My first session, I was already standing straighter and was able to walk somewhat normally. Every session, I had more pain relief and mobility. I can't imagine what it would've been like had I waited for my HMO's first physical therapy session to do anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm still doing the physical therapy with my second session coming up, but I owe my recovery to Elite Sports & Spine Center.
