I've been to the Milpitas location 5+ times. During my past visits, the staff was pretty friendly and helpful, but today's experience with different staff was terrible. Today's evening staff need to work on their BASIC customer service skills. When I walked through the door, it was obvious that the two employees behind the counter were chatting. I don't care if employees are chatting with each other, but please don't just stare at a customer when they're entering the store door and watch them walk towards the counter without saying ANYTHING. It's freaking rude and awkward. At least say "Hello". What frustrated me the most is when my husband wanted to add boba to his drink, the workers ignored him. No help or acknowledgment whatsoever. They also have food available like chicken and fries. I wasn't sure what to order so the staff recommended the Dirty Boba since it's their most popular drink. Unfortunately, I was unimpressed. No strong tea flavor, pearls didn't taste like much, and the cheese foam on top was impossible to drink. You need a straw to get the boba, but it's difficult to mix since the lid is not a seal. This drink is not particularly special - not the foam, flavor or tea. I ordered with less sweet (75%) since I thought it would be a sweet drink, but I could not taste the caramel either. The caramel was only drizzled on the cup. I would not order again. On the other hand, the strawberry breeze was better! It's refreshing and blended perfectly. I love Feng Cha, and I'm so glad one opened up in Milpitas! Their other locations are Newark and Berkeley but that's a bit of a drive for me. Side note: their Berkeley one is soooo long of a wait, I waited for 2 hours probably for my drinks there (so bad). I've tried all their drinks from the Breeze series and I highly recommend them to anyone! Their Breeze series include Cheese Foam & it is SO THICK. Which is super nice but be prepared to swallow cheese the first few gulps. My friend used a straw to avoid the extraneous amount of cheese foam. I love salted cheese foam and am so glad to find another place that offers it at such a generous amount. Being a purist of boba teas, this didn't quite cut it for me. Reviews say this shop originated from China, but the teas are sourced from Taiwanese suppliers. They didn't even bother to change the names of the teas in which the suppliers had on the labels. This place is just another boba shop that serve the same standard teas, sourced from the same suppliers most boba shops in bay area sources from, and just have different mixes of the ingredients. Also, they make it all wrong! Hence its so bland or overly creamy. It really doesn't justify the price. There's boba shops that have specialized tea in which you can't find elsewhere, with people who actually knows how to brew a good cup of boba tea without following default recipes provided by the supplier, for cheaper prices than these. This is like buying freshly baked Nestle Toll House cookies from prepackaged cookie dough for 30% more money than chic cookies made from scratch at Bakesale Betty or something. read more

We were celebrating my friend's birthday and decided to make a pit stop here to grab boba before karaoke. We were a party of 8 and had arrived at 10:20pm. The place definitely had some business, but wasn't overly busy for a Friday night. The self-order kiosk was down, so the only option was to order with the cashier. We had all ordered our drinks and received them in a timely manner aside from one of my friends. She had followed up with the cashier who took her order about her drink. All the cashier did was give her a weird look and say, "Oh..." while doing nothing to remedy the situation. After another 10 minutes, my friend followed up again and rather than asking for her order, they asked for her order number as she didn't get a receipt as she didn't think she would need it. After a few minutes they called her up and the order they remade was not hers, but our other friend whom at this point had already received and consumed his order. Frustrated, another one of my friends had accompanied her to figure out the status of her order. At this point it had been 35 minutes since we had arrived! They had communicated that the order that Feng Cha had remade was not the correct order and they either wanted a refund or the order remade to the correct one. It was literally just one drink. At this point, the workers refused to remake the order despite being the ones to have messed up both times. The only way my friend even got her drink that night was because my friend had offered to pay again. I think what should've happened was an immediate inquiry into where my friend's order went and then depending on whatever the situation was, to either remake the drink or ask if she wanted a refund. Accidents happen and as a group, we're all patient and understanding of that. Had the workers been transparent regarding the confusion, we would've understood. However, the way the situation was handled on Feng Cha's end was unprofessional and lowkey left my friend feeling gaslit. 5 stars all the way. This is one of the best boutique boba spots in the South Bay. Right now it's currently my favorite. I love their range of drinks from fruit drinks to the basic teas. They have premium ingredients that create phenomenal taste. I love their mango au lait; mango tea with milk and coconut lychee. It tastes almost like a lighter mango lassi with a creamsicle texture. I got the Jasmine Apple Green Tea and it was pretty good without no sugar. They had little bits of sour green apples that which you see in the photo--I like my teas bitter. I was happy that they were able to accommodate exactly the amount of sugar and ice I wanted.
