Phenomenal spot to host a boozy dinner! Went here to celebrate a dear friend and the wine kept coming! Went even got bottles instead of glasses at one point! Good food, good area, and a place I'd gladly return to! I wish I remembered the food as much as the wine, but the pictures do it justice. Cheers!

I was in the area attending a cheese event at Murray's and wanted to find a place for dinner. Found Ferdi through the Seated app. I was glad that our timing was perfect to take advantage of the early dinner price fix menu that is even a better deal than restaurant week. 3 courses for $30! It even included steak without a surcharge. Mussels were a good size and arrived with all shells open. The white wine garlic and tomato broth had a steady garlic level that went well with the mussels themselves. The steak was a shell steak that was tender and seasoned perfectly. It was accompanied by a flavorful mix of shiitake mushrooms, peppers and roasted potatoes. The included dessert was a simple but satisfying scoop of vanilla gelato with sliced strawberries and a biscotti. The aperitivo happy hour was also in effect so I got an elderflower spritz that was sweet and refreshing. Service was excellent and not intrusive. I'll definitely return for another early dinner. The value is excellent for the quality and quantity of food that you get. They also take part in several cash back dining programs like upside, Frankie and blackbird which even brings more value to the meal.

Huge fan of this place for brunch! First time we came because I saw some videos of it and suggested it for my friend's birthday and we had such a blast! It was pretty empty but the food was delicious and we weren't rushed at all, the waitress was so kind and sang to my friend. I got the penne alla norma (which is penne vodka) and it was incredible. Some other people at the table got carbonara or shrimp scampi and raved about it too. Plus the free flowing brunch cocktails! Same friend and I went just the two of us recently and had a slightly worse experience. The waiter was rushing us a lot and didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered with us. Still not many tables (which is fine with us) but he just wasn't super friendly. The bolognese wasn't my favorite, but my friend loved her cioppino. All in all, really love this place and want to give it another try for dinner soon!

We came to Ferdi on a whim on a Saturday night just walking around trying to find a spot for dinner. They were not super busy so thankfully we were able to walk in, it seems like there's not many italian places in the area you can go to without a reservation so I was happy to be seated. This place is very lowkey, no frills and it feels like you're at someone's house with the mismatched plates. Honestly I would say it reminded me of some local italian places in NJ. The chicken parm was good, it wasn't life changing but it did the job. The tiramisu was great, I would say dessert was a highlight for our group. They also offer a 10% student discount which is nice.

This is becoming my favorite Italian place in the city! The ambience is so nice and cozy. It makes you feel like you're in Italy. The prix fixe is a great option to try a bunch of different dishes and not have to look through the very extensive menu. The service is always amazing. All the staff is very friendly and they never rush you.

Saw this place on social media and needed to try it out! It definitely did not disappoint. Normally when a place does bottomless drinks, I'll expect the food to just be okay, but the food was an amazing highlight! The pancakes were absolutely delicious, and we both got a side of the eggs that were fantastic. They do a 90-minute bottomless special that is top-tier (espresso martinis, Bellinis, or aperol spritzes). The staff is very attentive and kind, and the patio sits on a quiet street in the village with shade. Definitely a great place to check out!

Stopped by for an early dinner on a Sunday evening. They got us in right away as we were the only table for a quite a while. Service across the board was pretty decent. The restaurant is cozy and warm with some interesting design elements throughout that don't necessarily fit in. Sun - Thur, there's a 3 course prix fixe menu that we decided to try. I'm always a fan of trying many different items instead of going all in on one or two. However, the food was largely underwhelming. The appetizers are a bit hit and miss. The arancini were bland but the tomato sauce helped to complement. The stuffed mushrooms have a decent flavor but they're on the soggier side. For the entrees, the chicken Milanese was a small piece of breaded chicken under arugula, tomatoes, and mozzarella. The tuna livornese was possible one of the saltiest dishes I've ever had. Desert was certainly the highlight as the tiramisu was nicely balanced between cream, coffee, and lady fingers.

Me and my wife and son traveled from the DMV Area to try the penne vodka, pasta, and the Alfredo , the food was amazing. You could taste the freshness in the pasta and the sauce. The ambience was lovely. The dining experience was amazing. We definitely will be back here. Keep up the exceptional service from the food to the customer service feels real Cozy ! This place has some outdoor seating right outside the restaurant that looks cozy. It was too hot and sunny for us so we went indoors. We were here really early so there wasn't alot of people which was nice. The staff was friendly and very attentive! Our waters would always be refilled. Our meal was delicious! You could tell the sauce was homemade and had a great taste. I wish my chicken parm was just a little crispier. The biscotti was soft but it has such a great almond/ hazelnut taste that I was ok with it. Btw, this was part of their early dinner 3 course prix fixe on Fri./ Sats at $30.00 per person not including tax, tip, drinks. You have to order before 5:30pm but well worth it. NOTE: Our meal was slightly delayed but we were ok w/ it. They had a cross contamination issue with something I am allergic to that they paid attention to. Great service, great meal!!! DEFINITELY coming back!

This time it was very good. No idea what happened last time. Didn't plan to return but forgot I had gone here and glad I did. This time the Capellini Frutta Di Mare was excellent and loved the tableside ice cream. No idea if the first time was just bad luck or the items I ordered were bad or new management or what but now I definitely recommend these items! The meatballs also were good. Very nice and fast service. Quiet too.

Ferdi was okay, nothing jumped off the table as particularly noteworthy. The frutta di mare tasted almost like it was microwaved, with a collection of seasoning that tasted like a few standalone flavors, rather than a cohesive dish. The rigatoni was better, but again, wasn't particularly memorable. The experience was fine, just not what I was hoping for based on the high Yelp score.

Came here for lunch, booked a 12:15pm reservation on Sunday. Got there at that time and waited at the front for a few minutes, no one else was in the restaurant. Ordered the linguini white clam sauce and spaghetti carbonara. Linguini with white clam sauce was really nothing more than normal pasta tossed in a simple garlic parsley sauce. The spaghetti carbonara though was not what we expected- the noodles were sitting in a watery, unappealing "sauce" and the pancetta lacked flavor, anclumped up with the cheese. read more

I went for lunch and the drinks were delicious (passion fruit spritz and their house Cabernet). The penne ala vodka was 10/10, I just wish the portions were bigger. The gnocchi was already great but the red sauce on the eggplant appetizer was even better. Tiramisu was also 10/10. read more

Love the ambiance, it was pretty quiet on a Friday night at 6pm, however it started to get crowded around 8pm. It was perfect because my friends and I got to catch up earlier and was able to enjoy the crowd towards the end of our dinner. The food was delicious and we would come back. Ferdi is hands down the best restaurant to go to for a large party in NYC!!! I had an outing of 10 people and the accommodation was top class. It could not have been better. Ferdi is very nice and will work hard to guarentee the best night possible. We all split a birthday package that consisted of multiple starters, an entree and a desert for a very reasonable price. We had birthday baloons upon our arrival along with custom menu's that said "Matt's Birthday" on the top. Truly a gem in the West Village. I have dined here before the birthday outing and it never misses. Great food, better people and overall, an amazing restaurant located in NYC. read more

Had the best meal tonight at Ferdi! The owner, Aida is the sweetest and super welcoming as soon as you sit down. The limoncello spritz was delicious along with the rest of the meal! Definitely recommend the seafood pasta, shrimp scampi appetizer, veal and chicken Sofia and liquid nitrogen gelato! Everything was very fresh and had delicious flavor. Quiet little spot on 7th Ave South in the Village. Ended up here unplanned on a Saturday with friends, it was pretty empty and that's a shame because the staff where warm and welcoming and the food was great. William was a knowledgeable and amazing waiter, Aida was a sweet host, and the food: didn't take pics because we were hungry and it was really a casual day (which I will rectify). We had the Costiera for 2 which had enough for me, my kid, and her godfather. She and I both had the Capellini Frutta de Mar (I subbed angle hair for spaghetti), and her godfather had the Pollo Siciliano. Coffee was great and we received a complimentary lemoncello at the end. I'll be back for sure - and recommend this place for a chill but delicious and filling meal. read more

I had heard good things and was looking forward to my meal here, but after waiting almost 2 hours for my main course I was left disappointed. The wait times for food was completely unacceptable. I've never waited two hours for a main course before. The food that finally arrived was overly salted and lacking in flavor. I had ordered the fixed price 3 course and both the appetizer and main were average at best. The tiramisu was delicious and the wait staff nice which is why I did not rate it a 1 star. read more

Super unassuming place, but amazing food?? My friend and I stumbled across this place in the WV and decided to try it for an early dinner, and boy were we surprised! The pre-fix menu is great, but we opted to get a few dishes and split. The garlic bread appetizer is amazing, almost like a cheese toast with some extra garlic. I also think that the chicken parmesan I got was one of my favorites ever (!!!) and my friend's vegetarian ravioli was out of this world. I will definitely be coming back!! read more

Ferdi was fantastic! We were looking for an Italian dinner and the Yelp reviews, though few, looked promising. Our lovely server, William, informed us the restaurant opened in July. The host was a delight upon arrival. Our server was attentive and helpful. The food was outstanding. Not a mediocre item to be found! We had an appetizer special with mozzarella and prosciutto in red sauce, Caesar salads, veal martini, ravioli Ferdi and the Chef Salmon. Dessert was also delicious- gelato for two (a true show experience) and the profiterole special. I would definitely recommend Ferdi and would return on a future visit to the city. My husband and the chef had a spontaneous meeting outside and he was great to chat with. read more

Came to Ferdi on a Friday night for dinner with my boyfriend. We loved the neon sign out front and when we walked in we were met with a nice reprieve from the heat through generous AC in the restaurant. We started with cocktails - an aperol spritz and negroni- both tasty. For appetizers, we got the meatballs (polpette) and the eggplant rolled with herbs and cheese (crispelle fiorentina). Meatballs were moist and had a nice helping of tomato sauce. Loved the ricotta inside the eggplant dish. For entrees, my boyfriend got the salmon, which he loved. He really liked the wild rice that came with it as well. I had the manzo marsala and a half order of risotto. The marsala sauce was great and the meat was cooked perfectly. Really liked the broccolini it came with too. I enjoyed the veggies that came in the risotto. For dessert, we had the gelato for two, made tableside with liquid nitrogen. It came with some additional items but the gelato itself was the star and quite tasty - and homemade right in front of us. I am a huge tiramisu fan though, so would want to try that dessert in the future. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, we felt welcomed and that shined through with the great service and quality food. The food felt homestyle in the best possible way and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Will recommend to friends and am glad we chose this place for dinner. read more

Came back to Ferdi and couldn't have been happier. Aida and her family are so inviting, and the restaurant is truly beautiful. We ordered the meatballs and the fried calamari. The meatballs were so tender and filled with mozzarella. The homemade tomato sauce was light and tasted amazing. The fried calamari were crisped to perfection. This place is magical and everyone in here is very attentive and pleasant. The ambience is very comfortable and beautiful. Aida, her mom Maria and her brother which happened to be the chef Fernando are amazingly welcoming. They are always making sure you have the BEST time while you there. Their hospitality goes above and beyond on making sure you feel at home and with family. Everything on the menu is delicious and sooooooo tasty. I usually don't write reviews but I have to do it for this place. Is an amazing place to stop bye for ether a drink combine with some appetizers. We went Ferdis to celebrate my cousin's Birthday yesterday & they did not disappoint. My cousin said it was the best birthday he has had in years. The food was delicious, the service impeccable & the relaxed yet sophisticated atmoshere was ideal for enjoying a great night of conversation, authentic Italian cuisine & a superb collection of Italian wines. The risotto was one of the best I have ever had (a dish I measure any great Italian restaurant by). The homemade tableside Gelato was to die for. Service is good, bread and water were frequently replenished. Mozzarella caprese was delicious with everything in balance. Ravioli were extremely well done. My friend had the Rigatoni Siciliani which they said was quite nice. I had the Capellini Frutta Di Mare and while that tasted fine and the shellfish was cooked correctly whoever did the prep was really lazy and my scallop as well as most of the mussels were filled with grit which is not great to have crunching between your teeth for $32 or whatever it was. One mussel was also welded shut in the dish which is also annoying that the chef didn't catch that and release it to see if it was just a tight one or bad before it went out. Portion sizes are in line with the neighborhood. Restaurant is priced in line with higher end Italian in this neighborhood. read more

Wow. I came here with my dad when he came into town because I had been wanting to try it and it looked spacious inside. With my dad being 6'4 he hates going to crammed restaurants, so I have to plan in advance. Right off the bat the service was impeccable. We ordered frito misto, meatballs, veal martini, and lobster ravioli special. Food was a 10/10 with our favorite being the veal. Could not recommend this restaurant enough for a chill vibe and amazing, authentic Italian cuisine. Nicely decorated for the holidays as well. read more

Ran into this place while strolling in the village. From the moment the appetizers came we knew we hit the jackpot. The food is delicious and the flavors are out of this world. We had the fried calamari that was done exactly right with the right consistency. The chicken Parm was also a amazing . The service was also excellent. Will go back next time in NYC. Great ambiance and charming decor. Our waiter was very attentive, gracious and welcoming. We had wine (by the glass) which we got to sample before accepting. Ordered 3 delicious appetizers to share. Just right! No pressure to order more. After we paid the bill, our waiter asked us if we'd like a complimentary "shot" of lemoncello. Yes, please! We felt like we were back in Italy. Ferdi is a special place! It was our first time for a family members birthday and there were ten of us. The food was delicious- all of it. Very fresh! The table side gelato was fun for everyone. Most notable however was the service. They were attentive and kind and even gave my family member who's birthday it was a gift card to return- how generous! Our story started three generations ago on the island of Ponza, by our grandfather, Ferdinando, nickname, Ferdi. He came to America as a chef in 1966 and opened his restaurant on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx. Ferdi’s son, our father, Giuseppe, continued in his footsteps to later become Executive Chef of the Rainbow Room in 1978, then IL Giordano, and countless New York City Italian restaurants at a time when Italian cuisine was authentically Italian. He then went on to open several of his own restaurants, where we began our journey. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. I love the NYC dining scene, but it's rare to feel the sense of love and joy that Ferdi is brimming with. It's the antithesis to many of the sleek, but often impersonal or pretentious new West Village restaurants born from restaurant groups. Their penne vodka is one of the best I've had in this city, and I loved my puttanesca. But the service and love that my fiance and I experienced was really moving. We were lucky to be served by Aida herself (one of the sibling owners) and she went out of her way to make us feel at home. She even sent us home with a delicious homemade limoncello and provided a complimentary dessert after we paid the bill. I can't wait to go back and spread the love of Ferdi! read more

This place has been a fantastic addition to the neighborhood, offering much-needed culinary delights. My only suggestion would be to adjust the ratio of meatballs to spaghetti in the spaghetti and meatballs dish, as I prefer more meatballs and less pasta. However, everything else is impeccable. The linguini and clams along with the chicken parm are personal favorites of mine, and the staff consistently provides top-notch service. read more

What a remarkable experience! I made a reservation for this restaurant. The whole experience was amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. The food was really good, and the place was very comforting and romantic. I would for sure come back to this place.
