Not bad pizza but definitely not a true Sicilian as the two separate pies smashed together is not a proper pie crust. The toppings are all fresh and it was the perfect amount of cheese but a little too much sauce cause the toppings to slide off and in a toppings avalanche. Thank goodness they provided me some napkins as I had to use them all to get all the sauce off my hands. If you want NY style pizza, Fernanda's is a good spot. Located in the corner of the small mall area of Lankershim and Ventura, you can grab a slice or a full pizza. The parking lot is small with about 10 spaces so it's always difficult pulling in. All glass entrance floor to ceiling at the entrance. Though there is always a steady flow of customers for delivery or pick up, I have never seen the restaurant packed. There is seating for about 20 with small tables for 2 and 4. There is also the bar with a couple of stools. At the counter are a few options for slices including cheese, sausage, pepperoni, barbecue chicken and veggie. On the menu you can choose whole pizzas with several options, pasta and salads. The prices are decent; $3.50 a slice and $20 for a large cheese. My girl found it cool since they have slice pizza and it's NY style. Found out we can get any style 2 slices and a salad for 11 bucks and we ended up getting a baked ziti and a jarritos for 21 too. Was not disappointed and needed no extra topping. Very good balance of its own flavors. NY visitors to LA( or Universal Studios) you must stop here! Wow, I thought I posted a review when I first moved back to this area 2 years ago, but I guess not! So I was pleasantly surprised to find Fernandas the day I moved back to Studio City. Called in a delivery of pizza and pasta and they said 45 minutes. Okay, no big deal, it was around 6 pm anyways. The food came in 25 minutes! The person who took my order also delivered it. He was super friendly and had a great phone presence. The food was hot and delicious. We ordered a double pep pizza and an order of chicken Alfredo. Perfect. Next week I went to the joint to pick up a pie and saw they had slices available. A clean, good sized dining area inside, with plenty of chairs and tables, so you can take in the smells of the delicious food they are cooking while you wait or eat. The pizza is NY style authentic. The owner is from Brooklyn, and they know what they're doing here. Excellent toppings, delicious cheese, fantastic crust. I love this place.
