Stopped by Fernanda's while looking for a quick bite to eat after being exhausted from at Universal Studios all day! Pleasantly surprised to find a place that sold pizza by the slice especially with a family of 5 that all like different toppings. This pizza was honestly better than some of the pizza slices we had in New York! The staff was extremely friendly and I loved learning about the fact that it was a family-owned business. Unfortunately not in the Hollywood area very often but would definitely be willing to make a trip out here to have this pizza again! If you want NY style pizza, Fernanda's is a good spot. Located in the corner of the small mall area of Lankershim and Ventura, you can grab a slice or a full pizza. The parking lot is small with about 10 spaces so it's always difficult pulling in. All glass entrance floor to ceiling at the entrance. Though there is always a steady flow of customers for delivery or pick up, I have never seen the restaurant packed. There is seating for about 20 with small tables for 2 and 4. There is also the bar with a couple of stools. At the counter are a few options for slices including cheese, sausage, pepperoni, barbecue chicken and veggie. On the menu you can choose whole pizzas with several options, pasta and salads. The prices are decent; $3.50 a slice and $20 for a large cheese. The pepperoni is good and seems to be the most popular choice. Baked in a brick oven, provides for an authentic taste. read more

We were in the mood for a slice of pizza and not the whole pie and this place was found on our drive home. I ordered a slice or cheese, mushroom, pepperoni, and a side salad. After a few minutes in the oven to warm it up it was crispy deliciousness at first bite. My pepperoni slice was my favorite as the cheese and meat was soaked in oil LOL. I've driven past this place many times, but never had the chance to try it. I ordered a Sicilian slice, A BBQ chicken slice, and a soda. The entire meal cost only $11.75! The pizza slices were huge and delicious and the staff was very friendly and accommodating; my order was brought to me shortly after ordering. For the lunch special we got it's the shit. Nestled right next to Photocity where I develop my film it's a good place to cruise while you wait. My girl found it cool since they have slice pizza and it's NY style. Found out we can get any style 2 slices and a salad for 11 bucks and we ended up getting a baked ziti and a jarritos for 21 too. Food came out fast and having baseball opening day on definitely made the time fly fast. Overall great texture and browning to the pizzas especially my deep dish square! Two slices of pizza with a salad and a drink came out too 13 cash. I'm an Amazon delivery associate and decided to come here for my lunch and the service was excellent. The lady brought my food to my table and as seen in the photo it looks as good as it taste. I took a bite into my pepperoni slice pizza and it was crunchy and the sauce of the pizza was also good. I sprinkled cheese and chili seeds on mine since I like cheese with a little bit of spice and I finished it all. 10 IF I COULD Stopped in for a quick bite with my three children after visiting Universal Studio Hollywood. By far the best pizza we had along our journey. We came here hungry and they delivered! Though the crust was little tough the pizza and garlic bread were absolutely delicious. Fernando (owner) and John (nephew) was was fantastic and friendly service! Fernando had great recommendations on the pizza. Being new to town both of these guys were very attentive. Had a pizza delivered recently. Would not recommend. What I received was a sad, tasteless, gross excuse for a "ny style" pizza. Wow this was bad. Floppy, soggy cardboard "crust"... cheese was a cheap disgusting flavorless substance. Damn... even the dog rejected it. Took one bite and threw the rest in the trash. Horrible experience. read more

Well... unfortunately I will be adjusting my review. Quite disappointed and a little disturbed at what I recieved the other night! I got two pieces of pepperoni that seemed like they were out for like two days and were completely burnt and inedible and also received a piece of chocolate cake that was literally hard as a rock and utterly dry. Service was excellent and courteous with no feet dragging type attitude. Upbeat energetic recommendation. Had a couple slices of the BBQ Chicken Pizza with a Lemonade. Was not disappointed and needed no extra topping. Very good balance of its own flavors. I was suggested to try it with a little ranch on top, which did not disappoint but was excellent on its own too. The ranch also made a perfect way to finish off the crust with nothing left to waste. NY visitors to LA( or Universal Studios) you must stop here! Wow, I thought I posted a review when I first moved back to this area 2 years ago, but I guess not! So I was pleasantly surprised to find Fernandas the day I moved back to Studio City. Called in a delivery of pizza and pasta and they said 45 minutes. Okay, no big deal, it was around 6 pm anyways. The food came in 25 minutes! The person who took my order also delivered it. He was super friendly and had a great phone presence. The food was hot and delicious. We ordered a double pep pizza and an order of chicken Alfredo. Perfect. Next week I went to the joint to pick up a pie and saw they had slices available. A clean, good sized dining area inside, with plenty of chairs and tables, so you can take in the smells of the delicious food they are cooking while you wait or eat. The pizza is NY style authentic. The owner is from Brooklyn, and they know what they're doing here. Excellent toppings, delicious cheese, fantastic crust. I love this place. I order pretty regularly from here and have for the last two years. I don't see a reason to stop! read more

Firstly absolutely brilliant service, we're staying in the Hilton at Universal and expected to need to collect the order from the bell desk but it was delivered right to our room, really appreciated. Had some pretty dope pizza here the other day. My coworker and I walked past it coming from a different spot and came back later to try it. Got a whole large pepperoni. They're big. Definitely not a small pizza. For $25 easily feed 3-5 people depending on how crazy you get. I'm a big dude so I could probably eat half but I think that says more about me than anything haha. The slices are big. Next time I'll order extra crispy and see if I can get that OneBite undercarriage crisp but it's good pizza. When it was fresh (we had to walk back to the office and by the time I had my third slice it had been probably 25 minutes after we grabbed it) my first bite had a nice crispy bottom not too much flop. Extra crispy next time for sure. Even after it had been sitting my last slice didn't disappoint. If I was at home I would just crisp it up in a pan again but was not disappointed at any time. Definitely gonna be our work pizza spot since I'm not local. Looking forward to the next time read more

I was heckled by a customer because I wasn't calling 911 outside! Again the manager did nothing. Those people don't care even a little bit for their customers. I told my mom about it and she said she has had the same experience when she picks up. He does not have a very customer service/friendly attitude. He needs a customer service refresher asap.

But, in recent years, the ambiance of the dine-in dining room has turned into kind of an obnoxious experience, where scummy, rude people have started inhabiting the place, to the point where I don't even want to eat there anymore. On more than one occasion, I've been eating in their dining room and had multiple people talking loudly on their phones, as if no one else was around. I've been in there with families with annoying, screaming kids making noise and running around like maniacs, and disrupting the whole restaurant. And a number of times the restaurant was playing two separate streaming radio stations at the same time like some aural, sensory torture device. Add to this, there's a few counter employees who have the customer service skills of an undertaker in a plague. They make you feel bad for ordering food from them, put-out and annoyed that you dared to order anything. All this aside, their pizza is still great and hasn't lessened in quality or consistency since I've lived here. But their dining room now has the ambience of a Greyhound bus station. I half expect to see homeless people sleeping in there, it's so shabby and out of control now. I wish their management would do something about the rude people, but I guess they don't care about keeping away loyal customers who have been going there for years. It's sad, because I know it's long been a Burbank favorite of the local denizens around here. I guess from now on I will be ordering my food from them to go.
