She informed us that other guests had been seated because they had called ahead, although this option had never been communicated to us during any of our previous visits. What was most concerning was not the seating policy itself, but the manner in which we were treated. Ms. Bayne's demeanor was loud, confrontational, and, in our opinion, disrespectful. We had all just come from church and were simply trying to understand the restaurant's policy. When I politely suggested that she lower her voice, she responded by accusing me of speaking disrespectfully to her staff, despite the fact that I had not spoken to anyone other than her. Grace's has always been known for its hospitality, which made this experience especially disappointing. I believe the front-of-house staff, and particularly those in leadership positions, would benefit from additional training in customer service, de-escalation, and professional communication. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this interaction overshadowed what should have been a pleasant meal and family gathering. We were seated at Table 14 & served by Mr Lewis who was a breath of fresh air. The food was good despite the entry.

This place is very small. And it gets super busy and not well organized at night. We had a party of 8, and we are two short when we arrived. They wouldn't sit us because not all party showed. I understand it is the rule, but how we gonna finish eating and give the seats for the next reservation if we don't sit down and start ordering? On top of that even if we don't mind waiting, the super small place can't have us stand and wait. I feel super uncomfortable waiting at the reception because people go in and out but the weather was super hot, almost no way waiting outside. So finally they sit us down, but we feel some kind of attitude from the manager. However we had a great server. Super patient, very attentive and fast. We ordered whole bunch of dishes. The appetizer: fried Brussels was crispy and delish, crudo was interesting. Taste like dish tar tar. Pork chop was huge! Awesome size, It's tender inside, bit dry without the sauce. It didn't have a lot of flavors. Crab stack was super good, they mix the perfect sauce and veggie. They are pretty generous with the crab also. Venison is pretty gamey. I wouldn't say it's good, but it's not bad either. She crab soup was very good. Highly recommended. It might not be an ideal place for a family gathering or intimate date. During a recent trip to Houston with my husband and daughter, we stopped at Field & Tides Restaurant for an early dinner--and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, the service and atmosphere were exceptional. Our waiter was attentive and friendly throughout our meal, and the restaurant's cozy, welcoming vibe made it the perfect place to relax after a day of travel. The food was absolutely fantastic. My husband ordered the snapper, my daughter had the cavatelli, and I enjoyed the scallops--each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We started with the tuna appetizer, which was fresh and delicious. To top it all off, the desserts were amazing. We tried both the Alabama Cake and the Tres Leches, and they were the perfect sweet ending to an outstanding meal. Everything from start to finish was top-notch. This eatery was a recommendation by a couple of friends and I will say, it did not disappoint. We had an opportunity to stop in for a Sunday brunch. The table wait time exceeded 45 minutes but fortunately we were lucky enough to grab seats at the bar. Glad we did. The conversation with the bartender paired with the fantastic food made our visit memorable. The food was fresh and creatively plated. Sadly we were in town for a short time, otherwise I'd try to visit this place during the week for lunch. I can't see any of their dishes being disappointing. Went in expecting to eat good food but never had a chance to put our orders in as we sat and waited for service for 10-15 minutes! Server took his precious time returning to take our order so we just got up and headed down the street to another restaurant. We would've had more patience if the restaurant was crowded but it wasn't! Hopefully this restaurant improves on servicing patrons faster as people are hungry and shouldn't have to wait an extended period of time when it's not even crowded! read more

An amazing experience from door to door. Dion greeted us at the door with a calm professionalism that sets the mind at ease. Chasidy, the bar tender then proceeded to delight us with a warm smile and amazing house cocktails. Every menu item, including all the deserts were individually home made. I decided to try this place based on the reviews on Yelp. I was not deceived! It looked neat and clean, staff was friendly, very convenient access. I tried to fried oysters and they were so good! Best appetizers I've had in a long time. Then I decided to go with a typical burger. Again, I was impressed. The bread was just perfect and the meat tasted really good. They are shaved, light and airy in a sweet chili glaze. I ordered 3 orders during my brunch workout. For my main, I got the Lobster Roll (not on the menu in the restaurant) and it was fresh! Good amount of lobster chunks inside of the delicious buttery bread. Also, comes with a side of fries which were crispy and seasoned. Our group brought in our own cake to celebrate, but they charge $7/person like a "cake-idge fee", which is a bit ridiculous. Our intent was to try the menu without any of the upcharged items, but somehow they were out of the braised short rib and the chocolate marquise, so we had to order upcharges. Kind of weird. I really wanted to like this spot, and I get that they're pretty understaffed with only two waitstaff. Nevertheless, there were so many problems that I can't recommend things. First, we were here for over three hours. The owner (?) admitted they somehow lost our entree ticket after 1.5 full hours. Then they said our orders would be out within five minutes. We waited an entire 25 extra minutes for any food. 2 hours before entrees. They comped us a round of drinks but I'm going to be real, I would rather have had an hour of my life back than a free drink. Let's start with food. Appetizers: Beef & Bacon Sliders (2/5): Two sliders. They went with a spice char for the burgers that did not work. It was overwhelmingly burned and the buns way too buttery. Texture wasn't great. Not enough arugula to offset it. Crab Cake (3/5): Two crab cakes. This was overwhelmingly salty. Seriously, please serve some lemon or sauce with it. The texture was OK but it was waaay too salty. Calamari (3.5/5): The southern cornmeal battered shrimp was a surprising pleasant addition here. The calamari was crispy, and the best portions of any appetizer dish. I'd get this out of the options again. Mains: Smothered Chicken (1.5/5 protein, 3.5/5 sides): The chicken was disturbingly tough and dry. The sides were the highlight, with the crawfish and sauce blending well with the potatoes, and the broccolini were way better than asparagus in other dishes. Lamb Chops (3.5/5 protein, 1.5/5 sides): The lamb chops were very one dimensional and that dimension was gamey. Salt and some flavor, not much else going. The potatoes felt overcooked and the asparagus were wilted. Worst sides by far. Lastly we asked for medium rare and they were definitely medium if not well done. Redfish Pontchartrain (2.5/5 protein, 2/5 sides): It's like they amped up the saltiness of the crab and made it fish. Seriously, it was way too salty on shrimp and fish. The asparagus were half undercooked and half OK. Desserts: We got all but the chocolate marquise. Common theme here is that they were all extremely rich and sugary. Textures were great. I won't score because I don't like sweet desserts in general so they'd all be 2/5 at best. Toffee Cheesecake: It's fine. Red Velvet: Horrendously dry. I think I've had better cake at HEB. Butterscotch brownie: Ice cream came melted. Textures okay, bit burned. We tried 9 different drinks in total. These were probably the best part of the meal. I enjoyed the frose to start. The H town hideaway was solid. The smokin in the park and Illegal bills were nice smoky drinks that weren't too sweet. Honestly, just come for the happy hour. Lastly, they promised $10 gift cards for HRW but it's actually $10 off $50. Sorry, there's no way I'm spending $50 here again, maybe for happy hour? I respect their attempt at an apology with a free round of drinks and recognition of the lost entree tickets. But ultimately they lied to us about timing on the entrees, the food fell flat despite a wait, and we watched entire parties come and go as we waited. A free drink isn't making up for a terrible experience and I ultimately ran late for an appointment while paying over $100 for one of the worst meals I've had in Houston ($55 HRW+$14 lamb+2 drinks +tip). The drinks are the saving grace.
