    Fried oysters and brussel sprouts
    Elizabeth S.

As someone who has lived in the Heights since 2020, I've been wanting to try Field & Tides for several years. My birthday this year was the perfect occasion! I got a spicy margarita to start that was very pepper forward. My fiance got a arugula gin drink that was very interesting- definitely could taste the arugula but it was overall delicious. He then switched to a foamy mezcal beverage so I could try as I love mezcal! For our app we got the fried oyster and brussel sprouts, the oysters were hard fried but the Brussels really stole the show. For my meal I got the scallops and shrimp and crab risotto. It was delicious and very comforting. My fiance got the pork belly cavatelli which had a very unique and deep flavor. It was a little too heavy for me to keep eating but he enjoyed it. In the side the got the mac and cheese which was pretty standard. The eggplant was very flavorful and a good compliment to the pastas. Field & Tides looks very nondescript on the outside but cozy and homey on the inside. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Overall, for how much food we got and how many leftovers we could take home it seemed well priced. It was a great birthday meal and we definitely want to come back with friends for brunch!

I've had field and tides bookmarked on my yelp for quite some time. So I was very excited to visit last weekend for brunch! The restaurant feels very cozy. There's two homes converted into a restaurant with plenty of outdoor seating as well. It was a beautiful, sunny day so we decided to sit under the shade outside. For drinks we ordered sangria and pineapple mimosas. The blueberry ginger pancakes seemed like a hit based on reviews so I ordered that as my entree. The portion size was huge so it was very filling. The ginger was not overwhelming at all and really complemented the sweetness of the blueberry toppings. I also ordered a the pork belly deviled eggs which were pretty yummy as well. My fiancé ordered the gumbo which was very savory and filled with the perfect combo of shrimp, chicken and andouille sausage. The service was good as well. Our waiter checked on us several times throughout our meal. Very solid brunch spot in the heights!

Amazing! We came here on a Monday night and wow! We sat in their private dining room which can accommodate 30 guests. Let's start with the service. It was perfect! Everyone was very attentive and we were able to hear from the Executive Chef/Owner! The food: -THE most amazing Pimento Cheese Fritters -Delicious Deviled Eggs with Pork Belly -Huckleberry Farm Beet Salad -Cavatelli Pasta with pork belly, goat cheese, chives and Caribbean pepper sauce (it was delicious but beware because it is VERY spicy) -Alabama Stack Cake which was an extreme delicious and moist chocolate cake Last but not least, free and convenient parking which is so hard to come across these days! I will definitely be back!

Great service - fun little spot. Nice wine list. Goat cheese app was yummy - did have a tad of a kick. Chicken - both the low country and the kids tenders - were fantastic.

Randomly walked into this restaurant and never regretted it. Nice simple decor, great atmosphere, the bartender Gibran is so nice, with such a positive attitude. Food is amazing. I got to try a few dishes from their happy hour menu. Highly recommend this place

Met up with a friend for dinner, and this was on both of our lists to try. The exterior is very inviting. We visited on a Friday night and it was fairly busy with reservations (which we didn't have). Luckily, there are actually two separate buildings on the same plot, and we basically sat in the overflow, which was more than fine. We were happy they were able to accommodate us Everything from the staff, the decor, the menu, the food/drinks, it all felt like an elevated dining experience. Nothing too formal or stuffy, just higher quality across the board The menu offers a variety of delectable small plates, entrees, cocktails, wine, etc. everything sounded, looked, and tastes incredible. The portions were hearty, plated elegantly, and again, hit the spot in terms of flavors Because this is slightly more elevated, the prices also reflect this somewhat. It's not unaffordable, but you pay for quality Some tips: There is a small lot next to them, but you can always find some street parking. If you are a fan of seafood, there are quite a variety of solid options to choose from. The name actually comes from the chef's appreciate for and choice to use locally and organic components from the "fields" (vegetables, poultry, beef, etc. and the seafood has a gulf emphasis ("tides") Cheers!!

The restaurant is so cute! It's definitely a neighborhood favorite from the customer service, environment and food quality. I appreciate the options for both indoor and outdoor seating. The aesthetics of the restaurant give date, brunch and casual dinner. I was there for Sunday brunch and enjoyed the shrimp and grits. Oh my goodness! It was seasoned to perfection and the grits were so creamy. That's usually my problem with shrimp and grits, the grits aren't usually creamy. Also, there's usually roux that overpowers. In this case...*chef's kiss*. My meal was 9 out of 10. Although I enjoy fried okra, I could have done without it on my dog. My aunt had the chicken and sausage gumbo. She rated it as a 7 out of 10. Our friend had the pork belly hash. Her rating was 7 out of 10. It was very spicy and the spice wouldn't allow her to enjoy the flavors and textures of the dish. John who was our main server made sure we were well taken care of without being too overbearing. His assistant Aaron was just as amazing and made sure our beverages were refilled and cleared the table as needed. Overall, I will definitely be back.

I had never been to Field and Tides before but what a cute spot. I could tell a lot of people from the neighborhood make it a frequent stop. A friend and I sat outside and had some cocktails (espresso martinis and ranch waters, both delicious). Both a fan of deviled eggs we shared some of those before dinner. I had the hanger steak sub broccolini for the potatoes and my friend had the special which was soft shell crab. Both items were enjoyable and the service was a little on the slow side but very helpful and kind. I can see myself going back and sitting outside for drinks or for dinner

Yes the food was great, the service had some great insight to the meals that are made and what goes into the dishes. The dessert was interesting, the strawberry with basil dripped over with like some short bread cookies. I liked the quaint size of the place and outside seating was available as well.

Field & Tides is still amongst the best Houston has to offer. Being new to the city, I discovered it along with my best friend in 2021 shortly after I moved here. On that first visit we had oysters & crispy Brussels, tuna poke, crab dip, and delicious cocktails. I've since been many times solo to enjoy an oyster Caesar, delicious redfish, and a manhattan - always superb. I tried to take my bff in August of 2025 but we arrived to find a gas leak had temporarily closed the restaurant. I was finally able to get my friend back in town for dinner here in Dec 2025 and it was nothing short of AMAZING. Once again we had oysters & crispy Brussels, tuna poke, but got to try the fried pimento cheese balls, duck ragu, scallops with crab & shrimp risotto. Everything was divine. The service is always stellar, from the hostess to the bar to the wait staff. Whether I've come during the weekday for lunch or a weekend dinner, an excellent, satisfying dining experience is guaranteed.

    Oyster Caesar salad
    John F.

F&T is a small quaint restaurant on E 11th in the Heights. Excellent service from Sam our server and was not a crowded lunch. I was able to have a good conversation with my lunch partner. My oyster Caesar salad on the menu looked good and the chipotle flavored dressing didn't bring any alarms until my first bite. One must tolerate very spicy food to tolerate this salad as I found out. I could not eat this and I substituted with a regular Caesar with ranch dressing. Maybe the menu should say hold on to your hats!! The food now was excellent. They have a parking lot next to the restaurant that is quite large. They have a nice bar with a tv ( sports were on). Could be a good happy hour place if you live close.

A solid first experience at Field and Tides - they have two buildings next to each other and both are pretty small and well decorated. Service was really good. Their cocktail list was good and I enjoyed the Angry Gunsel (spicy marg). The Pulpo appetizer came with potatoes and was really nice - definitely large enough to share! I got the Bouillabaisse which is their Wednesday special and it was really filling and great serving size. The Beef Stroganoff looked awesome too. The Tres Leches for dessert was kinda small but was amazing - hint of cinnamon made it even better. Overall I'd recommend coming but it is quite pricey. Will give them 4 stars bc not in a rush to come back but still was good.

    Indoor setting

We recently hosted a couples wedding shower here, and it could not have been a more perfect setting. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxed--exactly what you want for a celebration where people can mingle, laugh, and enjoy the moment together. The service truly stood out. Our servers, John, James, and Asia, were attentive, friendly, and seemed to anticipate what guests needed before we even had to ask. Justin, the manager, was also wonderful and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout the event, which allowed us to relax and simply enjoy the celebration. The food was outstanding across the board, but the Korean Chicken Sliders were the star of the show--several guests were still talking about them by the end of the night. The cocktails were equally impressive and beautifully made. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent cocktails, and a warm, attentive team for a special gathering, this spot delivers in every way.

When we arrived, four of the five members of our party were present, and there were no guests waiting to be seated. However, Ms. Bayne was focused solely on the fact that one member of our party had not yet arrived. She informed us that other guests had been seated because they had called ahead, although this option had never been communicated to us during any of our previous visits. What was most concerning was not the seating policy itself, but the manner in which we were treated. Ms. Bayne's demeanor was loud, confrontational, and, in our opinion, disrespectful. We had all just come from church and were simply trying to understand the restaurant's policy. When I politely suggested that she lower her voice, she responded by accusing me of speaking disrespectfully to her staff, despite the fact that I had not spoken to anyone other than her. Grace's has always been known for its hospitality, which made this experience especially disappointing. I believe the front-of-house staff, and particularly those in leadership positions, would benefit from additional training in customer service, de-escalation, and professional communication. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy and respect, regardless of the circumstances. Unfortunately, this interaction overshadowed what should have been a pleasant meal and family gathering. We were seated at Table 14 & served by Mr Lewis who was a breath of fresh air. The food was good despite the entry.

Just grab a ticket at the hostess desk on your way back to the garage. When u go down to the first floor. U will go out the door and Eunice is next door on the left side. . I will say the portions are very small but the flavor is excellent. We had gumbo, biscuit and burrata and duck poppers. The duck poppers were the size of ur finger ( if ur a small woman and there were 5 of them). The etoufee was very good. But for $43 it's pretty pricey. U do get shrimp cooked 2 ways. And the flavors were so good. I have no complaints about any foods at Eunice. In fact, I will be back for some of this delish food!! Yall need to try it.

We began with the cast iron cornbread, Cajun poppers, and chargrilled oysters, and every appetizer was packed with flavor. The cornbread was warm and delicious, the Cajun poppers were a standout, and the chargrilled oysters were cooked perfectly. For our entrees, we ordered the shrimp etouffe and the filet and frites. The etoufee was pretty good, though not my favorite. The filet was tender, perfectly cooked. Even the cocktails were delicious! Everything we tried was memorable, and the entire meal exceeded our expectations. I would absolutely return and highly recommend Eunice!

So I quite naturally ordered the max. piece catfish (3 pc.) with fries and greens, and OMG! The flavor, the crispiness! Just like I fry it! Excellent customer service! Needless to say, this is now my "catfish spot" whenever I visit the area again. For dessert, I had the peach cobbler. Another hit! So balanced with flavor and sweetness! My family had the oxtails and blackened salmon. They are licking their fingers! Why is this place not rated a perfect 5?! You better believe they get 5 stars from me! Earned! (Sorry, I ate my fish and peach cobbler before I realized I didn't take a pic. And the presentation was magnificent on all plates!)

I ordered the turkey wings which came with rice & 2sides with cornbread. I got the black eyed peas & greens with no meat in my greens. The standout for me were the black eyed peas. They were excellent. Everything else was just ok. I liked that everything wasn't overly salty. It just lacked that extra kick. The serving sizes were pretty good & I have plenty leftovers. I would be back again to try another dish because I feel for soul food this was pretty healthy because it was overly salty.
