I don't know if issues with the economy have become prevalent here, but we dined this previous evening and I am devastated at the quality of food. I had a fajita salad which came with generic salad from a bag like you'd buy in a grocery store. The blue cheese dressing was kraft and very gross and my friend's meal had Pace Picante sauce poured over the top of his meal; not to mention he got a beer and received a pint glass with a regular 12 ounce beer that doesn't fill a pint up. The service was very good, but the price of the bill and the quality of the food was awful. Won't be going back. I feel like we lost money we earned well. read more

I haven't eaten here in years, but remembered it to be okay. We had a coupon, so we thought we'd check it out. I'll make it short and sweet...we won't be back. Service was lazy - had to practically wave down the server to get him to stop by the table. Food was okay - but the rice was inedible. And the kicker - they give you 3 tortillas with your meal. You can certainly ask for more - $1 for 3 more. Worst cost-cutting measure I've ever heard of - I can understand charging for extra chips & salsa, but for TORTILLAS? Lame-o. read more

The Good- My dinner was great. I ordered the Seafood Enchiladas and it was enough to take home for lunch the next day! Fresh crab, nummy. There was enough chips and salsa to feed me and my young ones, in fact they were full by the time they got their meal. Tile tables were clean, sparkling... The OK- Waitstaff left nothing to be desired. They were OK. They didn't really seem to care whether we liked it or not... But my drink never went empty. The bad- my husband's 3 enchilada combo plate was smaller than my two seafood enchiladas. The rice was a little crunchy, I like it a little crunchy but it was over crunched even for my tastes and my kids and husband didn't even touch it... Overall- if you have a coupon, give it a whirl, but don't do full price. You will be disappointed. read more

The food is good, the drinks are great (margarita) but the servers can have quite the attitude. The last time I ate there, I met up with some old co-workers for lunch, it was a large group, and the server confused who had what....it was a retirement party, and my husband and the lady of the meal who was retiring ordered the same thing, a chimichanga. They brought out one of the chimichangas, and my husband being the polite man he is said give it to her, and he'll take the next one. The server glares at me saying who has it? I told him it wasn't me, to give it to her. He continued to glare at me, standing to my left holding the food, and I had to repeat myself several times and finally point across the table, raise my voice, and say "GIVE IT TO HER, I DID NOT ORDER IT" then he mumbles in spanish, and storms off with an attitude. To be fair, I have eaten there several times, this was the first bad experience I have had with the service. Ususally I get a lady server and she is quite nice. Thsi will not stop me from eating there if invited by my old co-wrokers again, but I will not go there on my own. read more

This place is extremely convenient for me as it is very close to my house. I have ordered quite a bit of takeout from here the last few months. They are very reasonably priced, and very quick. It has been awesome to have them around for whenever I can't manage to cook at home. I usually just get enchiladas, however the Cancun platter is really good too.They also are open late which is wonderful for people like me who can't make up their mind on what they want to eat until everything is already closed! read more

We went there for lunch. There were not a lot of people there so we were seated fast. Something that stood out was that the waitress brought out a pitcher of water instead of just some glasses. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had. My two small boys and I ordered a "deluxe nacho" thinking that $10 nachos would be large enough to share. Wrong! Our small plate was barely enough for one. When we asked for extra chips (the small layer at the bottom were already soggy). After hesitation, our server brought back a basket of chips. To my surprise I was charged another $2 for chips and salsa. When asked why I was charged for additional chips when we didn't even have enough to finish our nachos, our server said "it says it on the menu". Quite disappointing! read more

Dropped by for a quick lunch and this place fit the bill. I was seated right away with a bowl of chips, bean dip, and salsa. They have a lunch menu with the standard things one would expect: tacos, enchiladas, burritos, tamales, etc. They took my order quickly and my food came out quickly. It was hot and a good amount of food, I can't imagine what their dinner portions look like. The tamale was good. The enchilada was meh. It was all very cheesy. But I definitely appreciated the fact that it was NOT oversalted. Prices are low, especially when you consider the amount of food and also chips and salsa. I moved to Boise from Payette, and the Fiesta they have in Ontario, Oregon is to die for. The food is always fresh and the service is impeccable. So when I saw there was a Fiesta in Boise, I was over the moon. Boy was I let down. Yes, the food is still good, but it's not quite as fresh and hot as I'd like it to be. And the service...ATROCIOUS. On a weekday when there are only three people in the entire restaurant, you'd expect amazing service. We ended up waiting nearly 20 minutes just for our drinks, and another 20 for our food. When I went before, the service and food was much better. I recently went twice. They advertise $4.99 lunch specials, but going in at 1:15pm on a Thursday apparently the lunch had ended? Huh? Last time I checked most people consider 11-2 lunchtime, but what do I know? Their margaritas are sub-par compared to other similar places. They're small and taste pre-mixed as it seems like t hey just use pre-made mix. Not sure though. The redeeming thing about this place is their salsa is outstanding... one of the best I've had anywhere in the world. We stopped in because the sub shop was closed after getting into town for a regional soccer tournament. They were actually closed, but sat us and took care of us anyway. Salsa was great! I had a combo and my wife had a quesadilla. Both were fantastic and we have lived in California for 35 years, so we know good Mexican food. We ended up booking the restaurant for a few soccer teams and Jose the manager was awesome! He brought in extra people and took care of all of us. read more

This was one of the grossest places I've every been to. I ordered a burrito with ground beef and the beef tasted like dog food. They try and get every penny they can from you from charging extra for more chips to adding necessary things to your plate such as beans and rice. The service was subpar but bearable. My wife and I have been an a crazy search for Tacos Dorado (read: tacos with a fried shells). We have looked/eaten from Portland to Bend and all the way to Boise. Up until now, no one had them or was willing to make them. We asked the gentleman at the front and he said "sure, what would you like in them"? What? What did you say? Sure? OH MY! I didn't know what to do. No one has the kind of service around here to make something NOT on the menu. I stand corrected. I don't know if they will ever make them again, but this once was a dream come true and a reflection of home (were from San Diego). Amazing service in my opinion. If you want the kind of taco you get in So Cal, maybe they will add it to the menu if they are inundated with new customers requesting this style of taco. We'll be back for sure, even if they won't make them again, they were so freaking flavorful, I'm sure the food on the menu will be great as well. I've had good meals at Fiesta Guadalajara, but this was not one of them. My wife was hungry and we could choose from the Mongolian next door, or Fiesta Guadalajara. I wish we had chosen the Mongolian. The first thing noticeable was the lack of patrons. Granted it was a Monday evening, but still, there should have been more than us in the restaurant. The next thing that caught my attention was the watery salsa. In past times, their salsa was thick and vibrant. Not so much tonight. Oh, watery and bland bean dip too. Yes, the stale chips and salsa are free, but still, I'd pay for better. As we reviewed the menu, I noticed that they must have taken a price hike. Now, that in and of itself might not be bad, but their prices for main dishes approached those of much higher end restaurants (i.e. Matador) but the quality is severely lacking. My wife ordered her staple, Carne Asada, and I ordered a Chile Verde burrito. Service time was quicker than expected, most likely due to the fact that we were the only ones there. The beans on my plate lacked flavor and appeared to have come from a #10 can (like the kind you buy at Cash-N-Carry). My Chile Verde was bland, weak, and watery and the pork was dry. I was not impressed. My wife seemed to enjoy her meal, at least, (she was really hungry) but she had no critique to share. Overall I am left with the impression that they have raised their prices, dropped their quality, and are holding on for dear life. I wish them well, but there are better ways for a restaurant to control costs besides sacrificing food quality and guest experience. Save your money, go elsewhere. Fiesta G, if you are reading this and paying attention, you need some help. Find a quality restaurant consultant to help you with your cost structure and menu pricing. Or ask your food vendor partners to help you. (You're not shopping at Cash N Carry, are you???) There are other ways than watering down the salsa and skimping on spices to make money. read more

Stopping through on a road trip in search of authentic Mexican cuisine. Huevos rancheros and Chorizo con huevos were both ENORMOUS (well worth $8.95 each) and totally delicious.
