We just moved into the area and have been trying out the local faire. We were pleased to find Fiesta Mexicana and to find out how good it was! I had the Chicken Enchiladas with rice and beans, my wife had the Chicken Chimi with rice and beans. The beans were super authentic and delicious. If a Mexican food place can't do beans, they don't get my business again. Everything was fresh and very tasty. I can't wait to work my way through their menu. Luis, the server on deck, was very friendly and welcoming. He told me about their specials and Happy Hour and actually had a conversation with me. We'll be going back for Taco Tuesday ($.99 tacos!) and 1/2 Off Margaritas. Highly recommend! read more

I am still on a quest to find the best Mexican restaurant in the Reno/Sparks area. My friend Stephanie and I stopped at this little spot hoping this would finally be the place. We started with their Margarita special - buy one, get one free. The Margarita was refreshing as it was sweltering hot outside and after a day of showing downtown Reno condos, the Margarita was much needed. The true test, for me, is the chips and salsa. Ugh, I was so hoping for those hot chips, thin and lightly salted and right out of the oil but it was not to be. They were warm but were slightly thicker with no salt at all. Yes I could salt them but there was nothing to help the salt stick to them so why bother. The salsa was so so, again not remarkable. On to the the main course... I was going to order tacos but when I was told their hard shell is like the shells in a box, I passed as I could make those at home. I opted for the chicken fajitas. They serve a generous portion on a plate with beans and rice. While fajitas are not my go to dish, I was expecting it to arrive all hot and sizzling in a cast iron pan. On a positive note, our server was very pleasant and the restaurant was clean and very easy to access. I would not discourage you from trying this little restaurant as I find it to be typical of the Mexican restaurants I've tried so far. If you have a favorite, I would love suggestions! This is a nice new Mexican restuarant that opened in February in the same shopping center as the Raley's on Vista Boulevard near Wingfield Springs. Much of the food was prepared with care and detail that you don't often see at other Mexican restaurants. It turns out it's the third in the area. There's others on El Rancho Drive and in Stead. I told the waiter I wanted authentic food and he steered me towards the chile relleno, the enchilada and a taco. So I got a chicken enchilada and a spicy pork (al pastor) taco. the enchilda was perfectly cooked. The chicken was tender and it came in a red sauce. The cheese on top was soft and tasty. I forgot to ask what kind it was. Definite four stars there. I seldom get chile rellenos because they're flavorless, but this was pretty good. The pepper was flavorful and so was the stuffing. Four stars there. The taco was good but average. Three stars there. The beans and rice were pretty much standard beans and rice. Service was good. I liked the way they handled this meal and I have a hunch they do seafood pretty well, too. That's next on my list. read more

I love this place. It is close to my work and so I go there for lunch quite frequently. The food is delicious and always comes out hot, fresh and fast. I was just there and waited 35 mins but because I was not a friend and the people after me were, they where seated before me. When I said something they said that they had a reservation, Even though I watch them put there names on the list. The manager was rude when I said something about it and so I left. A friend told me about this place and it was my first time there. I will not be back. I can not ever recommend this restaurant to anyone. If I could I would give it zero star's I would. read more

So Disappointed!! The Chips were cold, stale and hard. The service was bad starting with asking if we wanted drinks, the water and the chips took 10 min to get to our table. The server started taking our order and was preoccupied with everything else going on in the restaurant and where he could facilitate. The food was timely but was dropped at our table and we never got to ask for anything but it was ok but diminished by the bad experience. ATMOSPHERE: First impression, big and open- I would assume that they get quite a bit of business for dinner time. Its location could be better, but maybe sparks being so new shows great potential for more customers. SERVICE: Accommodating, on time, and friendly. We ordered to go, so I can't say too much positive or negative. FOOD: Delicious! Good variety in the menu, I wish I was around more to try everything. There also weren't any weird American pleaser attempts, just Mexican food. The group I was with ordered carnitas and chicken. I got a torta de carne asada and shrimp ceviche tostada. Their pork quesadilla was bland. The pork was not fresh, I'll tell you that~ the cashier's tone on talking to customers was something else. I called and I had to repeat everything 7x when all I wanted was a pork quesadilla and a chimichanga which is a burrito and she made me repeat it with her annoyed voice and when we came to pick it up they weren't even busy, they are understaffed and still the customer service was bad. My son and I and a friend went there for dinner because it was close to where we live. The restaurant wasn't crowded, but the service was almost nonexistent. What service we got was very grudging, and the server made sure we knew he didn't want to serve anyone. I had eaten there before so I was very surprised. When we got our food, it was barely lukewarm and almost flavorless. All three of us just left most of the food. We had to wait ages for our check, and then the woman handling it, not our server, couldn't work the credit card machine. Overall, I don't recommend this place, and we won't be back. read more

I really like this place. Best Mex you can find in Sparks for sure. I really like the waitress there. She is very nice and could have a restaurant full of people and works that while room. My boyfriend and I love this place! The service is hit or miss. There is an older Mexican gentleman who is very friendly and courteous but often times there is a younger man working who IS NOT pleasant. However the service is always super speedy and the food is delicious! Chips and salsa are complimentary and will be delivered to your table. I would pass on trying their guacamole, it's often pretty bland. However, I haven't had an entree that I haven't loved. I usually just get the chicken soft tacos which are served on corn tortillas with shredded chicken, cilantro and onions. Very authentic. The shrimp in their shrimp taco salad is always season perfectly. While I am usually a big drinker, I haven't tried their margaritas or other beverages. If you're looking for somewhere speedy to grab a quick bite, I'd check them out! read more

I have eaten at their other 2 locations which are very good and consistent. I got steak tacos with hard shell. The shell was stale, the steak was rubbery and some pieces were burnt to a crisp, no flavor, food was edible but a far cry from their other locations. Ate here again for lunch in June 2016 and the food is now like the other 2 locations, will definitely return again. read more

The taco had 2 tiny pieces of chicken in them and a quarter cup of raw white onion chunks, which aren't meant to be eaten uncooked!!! Pathetic. My wife and I are regulars here because the food is good, the margaritas are delicious and the staff is usually pretty attentive. Today was the absolute worst experience I've ever had! My wife ordered a strawberry margarita and the trio fajitas. I ordered a tequila sunrise and decided to try their new molcajete. We're given a basket of chips, which had maybe 10 chips, and the spiciest salsa ever. We asked for some more chips and some different salsa. My wife's drink cones out real quick, however there's a huge crack in the glass. Nobody did anything about it when we brought it up. I wait 20 minutes to get a water and my drink... Then comes the food after waiting for 40 minutes. (Not very busy either. Maybe 5 tables) My wife's food was fine. Mine infuriated me. The hot stone bowl is bubbling like crazy and the shrimp in it have their shells still attached. I can't believe that they expect anyone to put their hands in a cauldron of spicy, hotter than hell sauce, to eat their food. When I told them about it, they said "that's just how it is. You should have ordered it with grilled shrimp." I told her that I've never had it before. I don't care how convenient it is to our home, I am never eating there again! The staff sucked. There is nothing special about this place so I would typically give it three stars, but the time my family and I went, there were no customers dining so the hostess/waitress and the cook were at the bar just talking and it took them a few minutes to wrap it up and acknowledge us. Once seated, it took another few minutes to get menus, then a long wait for her to return to take our order. I gave 2 stars because the food, margarita and the service was good, BUT, While we are eating a rat goes running across the floor, so we continue to talk for a couple minutes, my husband points another one running across the floor, there was 1 other family in there with us and seen them also, she took her kids and left, we sit there for a few minutes longer and 2 more rats join the running marathon. We ask for the check, my husband let the waitor know about the rats, he had no look of surprise, so we are getting ready to leave and we over hear the waitor telling the chef about the rat problem AGAIN. Meaning this is a well known problem with the restaurant, we can hear them plain as day talking about it like ok so someone else told us about the issue we have. We paid and left the waitor a nice tip as he was very nice, polite and was very attentive. Do not be fooled by the location. THIS is the place for street tacos. ESPECIALLY their Al Pastor. It is just the right blend of seasoning to get it right. The Carne Asada steak is also really good. I see other reviews saying bad service and small portions but the portions are really big on everything I've ever ordered and I've eaten here quite a few times. I've always had really friendly service. The service isn't as fast as other places but it's never been really slow. I'd call it "a relaxed pace." I always know I'm going to have a good time at Fiesta. Still my favorite Reno Mexican. read more
