I live near Figaretti's and have enjoyed both eating there and using their catering service. The service here really shines and it's good, regular Italian. Their eggplant parm is fantastic, and don't miss the broiled seafood platter they seem to offer most weekends. I love their homemade house Italian dressing, too. Excellent old school ambiance (NEVER SHOULD BE REMODELED!) ..very good marinara as advertised....great service... Only problem...ordered the supposed Prime Rib special...which WAS NOT prime rib at all but, rather, a ribeye steak. Not at all what I was expecting. The bread was what I would call average, the butter was too cold to spread. I ordered the ribeye as a recommendation from our waitress, it was a nice cut of meat, cooked too perfection; but absolutely had no flavor at all. We pass through Wheeling maybe twice a year, and we always make Figaretti's a stop on our trip! It's the perfect place to sneak in a date night. We love the food, the atmosphere, and the service. We're slowly working our way through the entire menu, and no disappointments yet. The chicken parmesan is nicely breaded and tender, the ravioli is great, the gnocchi is the best I've had anywhere, the house marinara is our favorite marinara. Be aware, the chicken piccata is yummy but not what you're expecting - but it is exactly as it's described on the menu. I simply wanted to pick up something quick but satisfying. I called Figaretti's and spoke with a very helpful young lady. When I went to pick up my meal, I anticipated parking and going in to pick it up, but was met with a valet and he went inside and inquired about my meal for me. A young lady came out to get my payment, went back inside and retrieved my meal for me. What a great convenience. The food was great and hot. I will definitely do this again. If you go on a weekend, expect to wait at least 45 minutes as it's a small restaurant. My girlfriend had the seafood shells. Chunks of lobster, scallops and shrimp in a cream sauce that included mushrooms. I had the mushroom rav with marinara. We were both happy with our choices. My dinner salad had lettuce, tomato, carrot, onion, and radish. it was fine. Getting the house Italian with it would be a good idea. My girlfriend was very happy with her cole slaw. The calamari app was large, nicely breaded, and not greasy. Pretty tasty. Dessert was the Spumoni ice cream. Service was attentive. I went to figaretti's this past Saturday and have to say i was very impressed. My family and I were greeted very nicely and sat in a booth. The food was excellent. Everything that we had everyone loved. The waitress, Kim was very attentive and said that she had been working there for 25 years. She was great! I have been here a couple of times now and will be back anytime I am even near this area. Anyone that gives this place less than 5 stars must have taken a wrong turn and ended up at a different restaurant. The first time there I had a Chilean sea bass. It is very rare to find a place that prepares fish correctly. Where it is not overcooked. It was perfectly done so that it was moist and had a buttery texture to the flakes. The seasoning was minimal so it added flavor without covering the flavor of the sea bass. The atmosphere is wonderful as well with very friendly and happy staff. You would feel comfortable and not out of place here if you showed up in a suit and tie or a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Sure there may be a wait for a table, but if you want fast food go to Taco Bell. This is more than worth a wait. read more

This is an outstanding, locally-owned restaurant and a must on our next trip through. Tuna steak was perfectly seasoned with a great cucumber/pepper sauce on the side. Pasta sauce was worth buying a couple jars to take home. Specialty ravioli was delicious, and the service was excellent. The food deserves 5 stars, but the price took it down to 4. I highly recommend Figaretti's for delicious Italian cuisine at reasonable prices. My mother and I had a wonderful fresh cooked meal that will beat any chain restaurant. I am local and Figs is a favorite of ours. Great food and service with a friendly staff. The owners have direct involvement in the daily operation. The restaurant is small and can get crowded at times. That can add to the atmosphere or frustration if you are on a hurry. So if you are in a hurry and it looks like a long wait come back another time. You won't be disappointed. Oh, yes great Italian but try the seafood as well. We ended up at Figaretti's after attempting to get a seat over at Olive Garden but with an hour wait time there we looked elsewhere for our Italian fix. The food here was terrible! My wife had manicotti which was rubbery and reminded her of microwavable food. I had their spaghetti. The sauce was spicy and watery. It did not taste like any sauce I have ever had. $45 and we were still hungry when we finally left. I don't know how anyone gives this a good rating unless you are being sentimental because of it's smallness or knowing the owner. Maybe no taste buds. Had our second visit here on 8/12 while in town for the Bluesfest. Once again was very pleased. Wife had Italian sub which she was very pleased with, " as good as any I've had and better than most ". I had the mushroom brie bisque to start ( I have GOT to find that recipe! ) For the entree I had the steak and portobello ravioli and it was terrific! The sauce is what turns me off of most italian food / restaurants but theirs is just right, not too sweet and not horrible sour like most. Too full to order any dessert which I was told is a recurring theme here! Prices were very reasonable for the portions. After two visits I've decided to make the hour long drive on occasion instead of only visiting once a year! I would be remiss if I didn't mention our server, Conner. Spot on, very attentive, totally helpful. Of special note was his patience with an elderly lady next to us, impressive to say the least. Be cautious when ordering the prime rib! I have dined at Figaretti's many times and usually receive excellent service and food. This time was different. We had a party of 6. I recently became aware of their prime rib, offered on Thursday nights. I had it twice before and it was excellent. In fact, it was so good I made it a point to return with my family, specifically on a Thursday night, to enjoy it again. I ordered it medium rare. When it came, a thick dark gravy covered it entirely. I thought this to be odd since prime rib is not normally served with thick dark gravy. When I cut into the prime rib, it was cooked very well done. The server was very gracious and replaced it promptly. Unfortunately, the replacement was a carbon copy of the first one. I asked the server if they had a new cook. She gave me the impression that she did not want to talk about it. This was the first time I have had this experience at Figaretti's. It may have been an off-night as none in our party of 6 thought their meals were up to their standards. I really hope it was an off-night! read more

I've been to Figarettis several times and in generally - it is good. However, there are times that it is not. For example, last night. We were rushed - it was clear the unpersonable waitress wanted to flip the table and get us out as soon as we sat down. We had worked all week, looked forward to a nice relaxing quiet dinner, and wanted to relax. We told her that but she pestered us to order until we did shortly after our wine arrived. Pasta was over cooked, asparagus wilted and tasteless. Overall, one of those experiences that leave you feeling...I don't want to go back. Ate there last night. The Figs famous appetizer was good, salad had slightly rusty contents. Ordered the wild mushroom ravioli. The first time it arrived, it was overcooked, the ravioli melted together in a mass, and the sauce tasted burnt. When I mentioned this, the server commented that it was in the wrong oven. I've eaten hear off and on my whole life. My go to entrees are asparagus ravioli with garlic olive oil on top. I've also eaten their steak salad, pasta with homemade sauce, lobster, meatballs, veggie pasta(not sure if that's what it's called, it's an appetizer), lasagna, and other items. If you're Italian, your family most likely has a meatball recipe like mine and trying other restaurant/family recipes challenge you to like them as well. This was the case for me as I did not like the meatball but I know other people that do. Their house salad is ok, nothing special. I typically get their house dressing. Their peanut butter pie is delicious. Overall, this place is consistent, service is pretty good and food is a little better than average. It can accommodate parties up to about 7 people I think, they may have seating in the back room I'm unaware of. This restaurant has an ambiance for casual to moderate upscale dining. I do not recommend for children unless well behaved, especially during dinner. Overall, it gets my recommendation. read more

Being seated with about 12 people the waitress informed us that they did not have enough plates for appetizers. Service was decent, a somewhat loud environment. Waitress informed us that their bottles of wine only contain three glasses worth. I ordered fettuccine alfredo, which was not very good at all. If your a regular you MIGHT get reasonable service! The owner of the place wandered around like he thought he was some Vegas celebrity chatting with some of the obvious regulars and walked right past our table without so much as a hello. AND THE FOOD......DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE FOOD!!! This was by far the worst Italian dining experience I have every had. I always get veal parm at every Italian restaurant I go to, so I know veal! The veal was passable althought it had not been pounded out or otherwise tenderized. The sauce was very sweet. And for the real kicker my girlfriend ordered lasagna and when they brought it out I gave her some of my veal and took some of her lasagna. We both took ONE BITE!! It was SPOILED! The waitress never came back to check on us but when I had struggled through my meal another member of the wait staff came to clear the table and ask if we wanted a to go box for the lasagna and I told her it was spoiled she simply walked away without another word. The waitress finally returned and asked if we wanted dessert and after taking my girlfriends order walked away, I had to call her back to place my order! To summarize: My meal was below average and the Lasagna was absolutely the WORST EVER (BTW.. they don't put ricotta cheese in their lasagna) and the service was terrible. It really makes you want to stick to the places you know. We drove about thirty miles for the biggest disappointment of our lives. Stopped in about a month ago. Wanted a late dinner with my girfriend. 8 o clock and we waited a half hour. The parking lot is a joke. Very small. The place is very small and cramped. The food was ok. Service was spotty. I know it is the end of the evening but the waitresses gathered around the bar and were very loud and rude. There was one blonde waitress who sat there, stared and was very loud. The topper was these three business types who emerged from the gaming parlor. They were extremely loud, vulgar and cussing. Telling dirty jokes etc. I did not appreciate this around my girlfriend and there was a lady sitting by us also. I told the guy on the way out thanks for ruining my dinner and to watch his mouth around women. The manager chased me to the parking lot and apologized. He gave me two free drink cards. I will not be back. This was the second time in. This place is just overrated. read more
