As a first-timer at Fika Fika Coffee, I was blown away by their rosebud iced coffee! I've had rose-flavored coffee before, but never this good! What truly got me, though, was the definition of Fika printed on their coffee: "A moment to slow down and appreciate the good things in life." Officially my favorite coffee shop I've been coming here now a few times. I don't live in Pasadena so whenever I'm around, stopping by is a must. So far I've tried their Rose latte 10/10, Lavendar latte 10/10 and Ube latte 10/10. Today I got to try their Lavendar Cloud cold brew and so much needed since I didn't want something too sweet but something with a hint of flavor and strong so not surprised, 10/10. I did take a sip of my friends Rose cloud cold brew and have to say I liked hers better lol so next time I'll get the Rose one. I've also ordered their iced Cherry Rose tea with just one pump so "50%" and it was great without the sweetness but you can taste the delicious rose flavor. I also tried a different toasted-the smoked salmon toast. I really enjoy the side salad the toasts come with but this smoked salmon was okay, not something I'd love to come back for so I think I enjoyed the Golden Avocado toast more. Also tried their popcorn chicken. Loved the value of it, their portion was more than I thought and for $7.5 not bad. I finally tried their icecream and has the Vanilla Lavender! So creamy and delicious. Next time I'll get the green tea icecream as it had this interesting hint at the end but it was refreshing. I love how they extended this particular shop to put more tables. Might be because the new Fairfax one looks pretty big so they're trying to make it spacious like that too. Parking was not a hassle either. It didn't look too promising as the color was a bit bland but flavor was there and it came with a ranch dipping sauce. My only complaint was that the portion was super small for $7.25. Only downside is that the street and lot parking have a 1 hour limit. My go-to is the Butterfly Pea Flower Latte - but everything I've tried has been wonderful. Not only is their Butterfly Pea Flower Latte great for photos, it tastes fantastic! Creamy with a unique, lightly sweet flavor. They give you two choices of espresso for the lattes - their Fika Fika blend is darker with a stronger flavor but less caffeine, and their Mellow Wave blend is light roast with more caffeine and is always my fave! Mellow is a good name for it - it's heavenly! I recently tried their Kyoto Cherry Rose tea and wow it was SO GOOD!! A light tea with tons of deep rose flavor - oh I loved it! I got it at 25% sweetness and it was perfect - I don't like my drinks too sweet and 25% was just right. And they top off these drinks with edible flower petals - makes it so pretty and they add nice flavor. They offer a "deal" if you buy a toast entree, you get a drink for $1 - a great offer! I've tried their avocado toast and French toast - very lovely! They also offer fun ice cream flavors - I've tried the ube and it's excellent. Fika Fika is a great place to hang out - the area is very walkable, right near PCC and Samy's Camera and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. We had three of the best breakfast dishes you'll find anywhere: Crunchy French toast: deep fried and condensed milk. Is there any more that needs to be said? Golden Avocado toast: sourdough, avocado, roasted cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, and what feels like half a dozen fluffy scrambled eggs. Perfectly executed. This can easily feed 2 people. I'll admit the side salad seems ill fitted here. And the choice of a vinaigrette dressing is way out of balance. Eat the toast, skip the salad Honeycomb waffle: this waffle is a whole vibe! Where else are you getting ice cream as part of breakfast?! Fika Fika oozes creativity. Got the Ube Latte with the fika fika blend. I wasn't familiar with the different blends available when he asked if I wanted the fika fika versus the mellow wave blend with my ube latte. He was kind enough to direct me toward the diagram that summarized the different flavor profiles of the different blends and provide any suggestions/considerations based on my coffee preference which was awesome. I tend to prefer coffee that is on the sweeter side but I decided to just get the fika fika blend despite it saying that the mellow wave was sweeter, only because it was my first time at Fika Fika; it only makes sense to try the fika fika blend if you're at Fika Fika haha.
