Ate here with a friend during DineLA on 08/25/26. Our server was Stephanie. She gave great attentive service. The food was very fresh and tasty. The restaurant is small. We were lucky and had street parking a block away. Restaurant is clean. Rating: 4 Stars

This is hands-down the best and most exquisite sushi (and desserts) I've had in a long time and I feel so grateful to have a place of this caliber so close by in SGV! Prices are a bit high but the quality and service make up for it. Their sushi rolls are a highlight- fresh and deliciously seasoned. The flavor profile of the salmon truffle roll is complex with a nice citrus note while the wagyu roll is tender and umami. Can't wait to come back and try some more of their rolls! The desserts blew me away. That honey toast is the best I've had anywhere in the world. The crunchiness is perfect and while there is a crust to the toast, it's so thinly baked and so well flavored with honey that it tastes just as good as the center pieces! The croissant pudding was amazing as well; the light whipped cream and matcha ice cream were perfect complements. Free parking is plentiful on the streets, lots, or surrounding neighborhoods. We came on a Wednesday night with no wait. Our server was extremely nice and welcoming with super helpful suggestions! The restaurant itself is clean, spacious, and beautiful. This is officially my new favorite Japanese restaurant! Planning on coming back to try their Dine LA omakase special Aug 14-28!

Ambiance and staff were nice. The sushi was fresh and everything was delicious. We tried the toro nori taco, cod(?) lettuce wrap, and yellow tail sashimi. The downside is I found everything was very overpriced. I think there are a lot of options out there with the same quality but cheaper. These few small bites were about $60.

    Soy sauce ice cream! 10/10

Amazing sushi, Nigiri, miso black cod, and dessert! I got the nigiri assortment. Ten pieces total, with tamago and a cut roll. Absokutelt amazing quality fish, flavors, and rice. Super recommend. Husband got the sashimi, with 4 types of fish. Stunning to look at, a symphony on the palate. In addition, we also got the hirame and scallop nigiri, because I love scallops. The miso black cod was divine! And honestly, one of my favorite food items of the year... soy sauce ice cream. Legit, amaze. Its one of those things that leaves a lasting impression. I highly recommend trying. Sake selection was also astounding. Got a sparkling sake to share and then this amazing sweet rose glass that I would have happily ordered the full bottle for. 1000% recommend this sushi spot for lunch or dinner. Great drinks. Amazing service, shouts out to our server btw, cool guy! Way better than Mikomi across the street.

    Oysters were a bit fishy

On a mission to try all the sushi spots in downtown Monrovia! This time: Sushi Filet, toward the end of the strip. Heads up, it's more pricey than the other spots we've tried, but the quality is there. The restaurant was clean and the service was attentive throughout. We started with the miso cod lettuce wraps, perfectly cooked and seasoned, then the karaage, tender and crispy on the outside. The sashimi platter was fresh and delicious across the board. Only miss was the oysters. They looked great but tasted fishy, so skipping those next time. Dessert was great We had the bread pudding with soy sauce ice cream, and surprisingly the ice cream had a caramel profile.

We had come once before, and I didn't write a review because I wanted to wait until I had come at least one more time before deciding. We enjoyed our initial visit and was impressed with the food. We decided to come back for DineLA week to see if what we had last time was a one-hit wonder. Not surprisingly, we were just as pleased as our initial visit, and this place will now be on rotation for us! Sushi quality was excellent and innovative. We selected the Signature Omakase, and the sashimi and nigiri were simply prepared so as not to detract from the true fish flavor. Miso soup with clams and simmered abalone were also on point, and not over cooked or overly salty. The only weak point of the menu was the lamb lollipops-this menu would have totally been elevated with a wagyu dish. Finally the dessert was such a delightful surprise- I DEVOURED my soy sauce ice cream and pudding. Service was great- our server was attentive but truly, the whole staff was!

Look no further if you love high quality sushi, exceptional cooking, and relaxing ambience! I've dined here several times since they opened around beginning of 2025. Chef Thee is meticulous on his fish selection and emphasizes the quality of freshly imported fish ingredient from Japan. His sushi preparation has a nice touch of western modern fine dining flair that doesn't break your wallet like other high end sushi restaurants do. I love all the carpaccios; each carpacio dish is paired with Chef Thee's own special sauce marinate creation that is super flavorful and complements well with the fish selection. The Tai with shiso leaves sauce is a MUST try (carpacio with kinmadai, also known as goldeneye snapper) . I would drink that sauce by itself. They also have affordable sushi rolls that are excellent with the same quality of fish as nigiri and carpaccios at the sushi bar. Their Dessert is surprisingly good because one would not normally expect great desert at a sushi restaurant. The nutella croissant is warm and crispy outside and pairs well with their special flavor "soy sauce" ice cream. If you got room, that soy sauce ice cream with the croissant will be the perfect end of the meal. The restaurant layout is spacious with relaxing jazz/light instrumental music. It's clean and well lit, a perfect place for a casual date night.

This place has amazing Japanese food. I learned the fish comes from the Japanese market and they rotate special fish weekly. The sashimi is fresh and unique. The toro with cheese was something new I never tried before. I love the chawanmushi. It is silky and soft. The monkfish liver is so creamy. They have unique sushi too. The service was nice. The ambience is upscale. An amazing time ! Now they have happy hour too.

Ok the food here is very fresh !! I've cane here before but I think it was named something else. Anyways, the sushi was so fresh and good! I ordered the salmon nigiri, miso soup, and shared the salmon truffle rolls that were beyonddd delicious! Good miso soup and fresh salmon nigiri that was very good!! Yummy !! The service was also very good!! It took awhile to come to our table, but once they did they were very attentive and good personalities!! The ambiance was perfect as well. Very modern and cute!! Located in downtown Monrovia so it's good vibes for sure!! I will definitely come Back here ! Very good menu! A lot to choose from. -Marshay D.

Found this place through DineLA, the food was amazing!! We did the classic omakase with 6 courses, we were so full! Every dish was unique & beautifully presented. So much flavor bursting in my mouth. The sushi was good quality, fresh and melts in your mouth. Each fish tasted different but equally delicious. They used different sauces, some were torched and you can taste the slight smoked flavor. They had excellent service, always refilled my water, great timing in bringing out the food & they patiently explained what each dish was. They were accommodating to gluten free and provide tamari (gf soy sauce). The place was small but spacious, didn't feel cramped & nicely decorated. They have a great dineLA menu & happy hour Tues-Fri 5-6:30p or Sat-Sun 12-3p. It is more pricey but the quality and service make up for it. It's located in downtown Monrovia on Myrtle with plenty of free street parking. There's a street fair every Fri night and they close Myrtle for pedestrians only. Overall we had a wonderful experience and we will definitely return!

The spread, the skewers were just as good as the sushi. Thumbs up

I concur- everything from the product to the service to the bartending is top notch. It's an upgrade from your chain sushi joints like mikomi down the street so there is a premium, expect to average about $40 a person, but there are rolls here too if you wanna stay budget friendly. Had a wonderful time here, great place for a date night since the area is so walkable. 5 stars

    DineLA signature omakase
    Rosanna L.

Came to try their signature omakase from the DineLA menu. We made reservations for the bar and was seated immediately. Items included the following: 1. 4 item Appetizer - octopus & conch, monkfish liver, Kunomoto oyster (sweet but too much vinegar) tempura salad (loved it) &halibut 2. Premium sashimi: Scallop, chutoro with truffle shavings (one of my favorites), King mackerel (need more flavor) 3. Snow crab chuwanmushi - had an interesting rice wine flavor 4. Red snapper with lemon & salt... The rice was too warm. Overtook the fish flavor 5. Bluefin tuna 6. Seared Red snapper 7. Yellowtail 8. Seared sea perch 9. Hokkaido uni (so sweet) 10. Seared Otoro (melt in my mouth) 11. Grilled wagyu with truffle butter (I learned that I like truffle butter) 12. Croissant pudding with soy sauce ice cream.... Salty and lightly sweet Overall I enjoyed the meal. Pricing was good. Service was good. They filled our waters and took our empty plates. My finance got the sake pairing. We did have to wait a while for the sake. Inside was nice and clean. We went on a Friday night so the streets were closed for the weekly Farmers market. We parked at the nearby public parking.

Recently, I noticed the lines disappeared so we came for an early dinner. The interior is pretty cool. It's kit just tables and chairs but the design element is unique. Some seating are inside a honeycomb shaped booth, some are just in the middle of the dining area. We were seated at a table that resembles a birdcage. There's a lot of wood and warm colors, which makes the ambiance stand out over other ramen places. We ordered a ramen, omurice with katsu, some skewers and popcorn chicken. The spicy ramen was delicious, but there was no soft boiled egg as shown on the menu photo. All I saw was a broken egg white at the bottom of the bowl. 4/5. The omurice was nicely done. The egg was perfectly soft and silky with a nice curry sauce in the side. The katsu that came with it was crispy, hot and tasty. 4.5/5. The popcorn chicken was great. Perfect seasoning and crispy. 5/5. The skewers however, were the low point of our dinner. They did not appear they were cooked fresh. The meats were dry and tough. The scallops were OK but tiny. Chicken was average. The whole order did not satisfy. We also got an Amazing Lemonade and Thai iced tea. The lemonade was a very refreshing drink, and the Thai tea is just like all other places. Our server, unfortunately forgot his name, was excellent. Very personable and great at describing flavors. The friendliness extends to the rest of the staff too. It's a nice place to check out. Note their parking lot is fairly small, and shared with Paris Baguette next door. It's a 4.5, rounded up.

My favorite appetizers are always the popcorn chicken and crispy hot piping purple sweet potato fries!! Their ramen is also super yummy, but I prefer their tonkatsu omurice with curry sauce. Love the fluffy egg blanket over the rice on that dish. I also enjoy getting their omurice as a combo since it comes with a Thai tea! As for desserts, I can vouch for their matcha pudding and matcha tiramisu which were not too sweet :) I'm only giving them 4 stars bc it's slightly pricy and also I feel like as nice as the free coupons on the ramen bowl are if you win them, it's also a gimmick especially because you have to redeem it the next time you visit AND dine in. I feel like I have to come back and spend even more money to get my free item, so I feel a little robbed. Something for the restaurant to reconsider. Maybe allow customers to redeem their free item the day of their visit or allow us to redeem it to go instead of dine in. Overall super great restaurant though and everyone should try their food at least once!

The sushi plate had some pretty different nigiri options that are definitely not seen across most sushi restaurants in the US! I enjoyed nearly every piece except for one or two - nothing was bad but just my preference. The rolls were amazing and filled nicely too with deliciously minced tuna. The chu-toro wasn't quite as fatty as I hoped (yes I know chu-toro is the medium fatty option) but it was still buttery soft! The house sake was pretty strong and bitter though and I was surprised how hard it was to drink, and I usually love and thoroughly enjoy sake! I got a bigger bowl in the Japan yakiya, to stress how small it was. -Minimum of $80 USD per guests, either their omakaze which starts at $80 or a la carte ordering you need to get up to $80 worth minimum. -Our server did not seem familiar with the offerings and availability, she stumbled on questions, told a guest their favorite quail was available only to run back from the grilling chef to correct that it was not in stock. -It was not always easy getting the attention of a server. Other: We made an unplanned visit once and learned they do two seatings per evening and by reservation, a fair arrangement considering they need to prep and portion out skewers ahead of time but just know you can't walk up and expect to be seated.

They also have a great selection of beer on tap, a full bar, and a weekday happy hour that's definitely worth checking out. The location is super convenient, right off the 210 Freeway with plenty of parking. Whenever family or friends are in town, this is one of my go-to places. I highly recommend giving Mikomi Sushi a try!

Disappointed in our experience tonight. I have had good experiences here in the past, but tonight…read more(a Tuesday night for dinner) their service was off. They forgot entirely to bring my daughter's drink, did not bring everyone's order out even close to about at the same time (it was a large party of 7) and the server misidentified my meal so I thought they got it wrong. The chicken katsu curry and sushi were ok, but the ramen my daughter got had a strange flavor (we've had a lot of ramen) and my salmon shioyaki was not made the right way. Salmon shioyaki should be salted and grilled or broiled. The cut of salmon was wrong and it didn't taste salted at all, more like a piece of teriyaki salmon with the sauce scraped off. Lesson learned is that it's called Mikomi Sushi, so definitely stick with the sushi if you dine here. The atmosphere is nice with high ceilings and beautiful lighting and everyone working there is nice, I just found the experience disappointing and regretted that I didn't go to another Japanese restaurant.

Ok I've been to a lot of ramen places but I gotta say I don't think anything beats Nagi. First of…read moreall, they cater to all types of food eaters by enabling you to have full control of oil, noodle, thickness, salt, etc. Essentially, you are building your own perfect ramen bowl that meets your own standards. The best part of all, I think this might be the first ramen restaurant that is doing this so that's a plus in my book. Some other ramen places, albeit good and rich, may sometimes be too heavy for some people like me. That's where Ramen Nagi differs. They have the ability to cut down that "heavy after eating" feeling. Service was extremely on point and will come to you if you need help with anything without hesitation. It's a family friendly environment and has good lighting for those instagram photos which makes the food even more appealing to eat. I definitely recommend 1000000% if you have never eaten ramen this is like THE PERFECT place to go.

Visited 8/9/26 - Red…read moreKing 17.50 For context, I went with light salt and oil to be "semi health" conscious. I would definitely do this again, because it tasted like a normal ramen and I wasn't left wanting more. I love spice, but would definitely not add additional to the red king. The pork belly was killer and would recommend getting that over chasu, the flavor had a hint of sweetness and the minced meat was just the perfect combo! - Black King 17.50 My boyfriend always gets this, his only comment was to opt for the thick ramen! The noodle texture here is always on point, their "normal" should be the standard whereas other places you have to request firm to have it done perfectly. The price is the reason why he always returns! - Chicken Karaage 8.25 My favorite chicken karaage hands down and a must order when I go. The sauce is a sweet soy complementing the savory chicken with a touch of creamy mayo! I opt for this over the gyoza for more protein, if you have the people definitely worth while to get both. Once you queue, the hostess will give you a paper menu and marker to line up your order. From there when you are seated they will confirm and the food is ready really quickly. This is where I would go for a quick sit down meal, emphasis on quick since the music is loud and theres always a long queue.
