This was our first time here and I was pretty concerned about what the rest of our experience would be. We got to our table and then sat there for 10 minutes without any kind of greeting. Following the disorganization of getting seated, we weren't sure what was happening and almost left. I'm so glad we stayed. Once our server greeted us, it was smooth the rest of the evening. We ordered drinks (Old Fashioned and wine), both were excellent. Someone brought delicious soft rolls with olive oil and balsamic vinegar-excellent. We stuck with tapas and the portions were bigger than expected. We had a whole lineup of items we wanted, but filled up after three. We ordered a charcuterie plate that was an off menu special. Iberico and a truffle manchego cheese and a rosemary manchego cheese served with toasted baguette and grapes. It was delicious! We also ordered the Gambas Al ajillo salsa Roja (shrimp in a red sauce) and the Pulpo à la gallega (octopus). The shrimp were incredible. I could have eaten the sauce with a spoon. Okay, I DID eat the sauce with a spoon and then asked for more bread to sop it up. The octopus was a surprise. My husband ordered it and I was prepared to try a small bite. It was fantastic. The octopus was nicely chewy without being rubbery at all. And it was served with potatoes in a thin sauce that tasted like olive oil and paprika and onion. So good. We looked at the desserts and my heart said yes while my full stomach said no. I almost ordered the crème brûlée cake to go, but decided to come back another day. Our server (Zack) was great! I really think something happened with the hostess because the rest of the evening was so smooth. Very interesting interior. Located right next door to Takashi's, which has a long wait and is a top sushi spot, Post Office lends itself as the layover while you wait, but you could just stay the entire time. Our hostess was cool and raved about the menu and even checked in on us throughout the experience to see if we enjoyed the new menu items. As for tapas, we had Karaage (Korean fried chicken), & Beef Haru Mak1 ( spring roll) . The egg dipping sauce was really good and our server was very detail-oriented and engaged. We definitely appreciated that. As for cocktails, we had the Que Tal Spyro & First Stop / Last Stop... both tequila-based, and they were good. Overall, a great vibe to return back.

The first impression was warmth- it was chilly outside with the snow and the gloom that comes with it, and this place felt like a little cabin in the middle of nowhere- not exactly nowhere, but there were very few places that were open for food, and fewer still with vegetarian options, so really , this felt like Joseph Smith was smiling down on me ;) ...... no, no, not being religious, just remember the feeling of blessed and ...'Oh my god! we found an open restaurant with veg food'.... We were famished, so whatever pics I have is before the food arrived, as after we were engrossed it gobbling it down. It took a while for the food to arrive, as everything was made inhouse, fresh and probably we were the only vegetarians there that day. The order consisted of Moroccan Cauliflower, Grilled brussels sprouts and customized Angel Hair pasta. They were more than accommodating and sensitive to our needs, which I very much appreciated......see...blessed..... Salt Lake City is special for me, as this was the first place I lived at length when I first came to US on work many years ago. That time I was just visiting. I ordered the Beef Shawarma and my wife got the Musakhen with fries. The Clam Chowder was good. I've certainly had better, like at Market Street in town or at the Brigantine in the San Diego area. The server was kind of stumbling over his words when he described it and until it arrived I wasn't sure if it was going to be New England clam chowder or Manhattan. He proclaimed that it was the best clam chowder you'll ever get at a Middle Eastern restaurant and I can't really argue about that. The Beef Shawarma is served in a wrap that is open at both ends and cut in half. They put a small portion of pickled items on the plate and dust everything with sumac powder. The beef is thinly sliced. I really didn't enjoy the flavor. The greens in the wrap were extremely bitter and in my opinion it made for an unpleasant flavor. Maybe I just got extra bitter greens on mine but it was overwhelming everything else. I didn't like that the wrap was open, I had to lean over my plate as I ate because the sauce was dripping out and I didn't want to get it on my clothes. Eventually I gave up and used my fork to pull the meat out of the other half so that I could avoid the bitterness. The Musakhen (that's how it is spelled on the menu) was also a wrap. I tried a bite and I liked that better than the beef Shawarma but I still didn't really like something about the flavor. The fries were nicely crispy and fresh but there is a seasoning on them that really wanted to be on my fingers more than it wanted to be on the fries or my napkin. Like no matter how hard I tried to wipe it off there was still some of it on my fingers. Once again there was something about the flavor I didn't really like. My wife eventually offered up some of the aioli and it made it a little better but once again I didn't really like the flavor of the aioli. So for whatever reason the flavors there just aren't for me. My wife on the other hand was very excited about everything and was talking about all the things she was going to try the next time we visited. I didn't want to be a negative bummer during the meal but I was thinking she was going to have to come back with someone other than me. The restaurant is nice and they have very good service. There were a few other tables of large groups and it seems like this is a place that works well for get togethers. Parking is not adequate at all. We got a spot but only because we got there at 4:50 for dinner. I overheard other people talking about the trouble they had finding a spot.

Not just cooled down, but genuinely cold like they had been sitting out for a while and not kept under a warming lamp. The beef bourguignon was the warmest dish we received, though even that was only lukewarm. The frustrating part is that the flavors were actually really good. The food itself was delicious, but the temperature of almost every dish really took away from the experience.
