My 2025 update: we love this breakfast & lunch restaurant! Recently we have been dining here for a brunch or early lunch after walking at the new indoor track at the Soldotna Field House. I love the servings of Grand Biscuits & Sausage Gravy, with eggs and sausage patties. The Breakfast Basics is a nice alternative. Our favorite sandwich is the Reubenski with an included cup of Soup of the Day. You can get a taste of the soup before ordering. The staff serve you well, and Lori, Chef Owner, makes generous servings and also bakes tasty pastries. The ambiance of the two-story dining levels is comfortable and nice. read more

Went here for lunch and was Not disappointed. Had the Reubinski Sammich and Zuppa Toscana. The Toscana was hearty and Full of Flavor! Wow! The Reuben was also very tasty. EXCELLENT soup and sandwich "just like mom used to make." The chicken dumpling soup was thick, perfectly seasoned and full of chicken, and my international roast beef was loaded with meat, melty cheese, roasted red peppers, and toasted (but somehow still pillowy soft!?) bread. The restaurant was full of locals - it appears to be a Soldotna favorite - and I'm not surprised. I will be back! read more

Had a wonderful meal there. Home cooking by a multigenerational family. The food was delicious. I had breakfast traditional eggs and bacon with pancakes big fluffy ones and my wife had the avocado toast which was delicious. Cozy and welcoming atmosphere and great service. The food is good, but the portions seem small. Today we enjoyed the Lemon Chicken Soup with Rice. I had the Kona Chicken Ciabatta which I really liked, all very fresh & tasty but it was barely a 4" square ciabatta and I was still hungry after eating it. My husband had the quiche with bacon, but didn't find any bacon in it and the quiche doesn't come with any sides. He ended up ordering a meatloaf sandwich after eating the quiche. The meatloaf sandwich was very good. Will eat here again, but will keep the small portions in mind if I'm very hungry. read more

Pleasant place to have an excellent choice of healthy food! The waitress was friendly and efficient! She got us settled in with water and menu while we decided on what to eat. The food came promptly and appeared great on the plate! I had plenty of food to satisfy my hunger! We got seated and served within reasonable time. It's a clean, hospitable interior. Stopped in after a few friends told me to check it out. The interior was nicely decorated for fall and very clean. The owner was super friendly and took our order. We got the meatloaf sandwich and the Kona sandwich with their soup which was ham and bean. She gave us a taste of the soup to make sure we liked it which was awesome! It is homemade, not a packet. The meatloaf is made in house and was so juicy and tasty. The Kona sandwich was on a ciabatta roll that was so light and airy. They are a 'breakfast/lunch' joint which opens at 6 am however the only breakfast option is quiche and some pastries. Also, coffee is over roasted with a bitter after taste. The servers were pleasant however the elderly barista lacked tact. read more
