This was my third visit to this Belmont neighborhood pizza restaurant. It is located on Belmont Street in a predominantly residential neighborhood. There are a few tables to eat at in the restaurant but like many pizza places, a great deal of their business is take out. They have "brick oven" pizza that is prepared in a highly visible brick oven behind the counter in the restaurant/ Their "large" pizzas are really quite small, about 14" maximum but they are a reasonable $11. Their menu is a bit more upscale than a traditional pizza restaurant offering pesto based and white pizzas among other specialties. The pizza here was only fair quality. The toppings were mostly in the center of the pizza and towards the edges there was very little topping leaving more than 2" of near plain crust around the entire circumference of the pizza. The crust itself was actually pretty good with a chewy and raised texture but limited flavor and the crust was no where near thin enough. The sauce was notably bland and the cheese was real (not processed) but also remarkably bland. Unfortunately things did not come together well with this pizza which I remember mostly as bland and having a huge area at the outer crust with no toppings. I did not try most of the pizza varieties on the menu and perhaps one of the other varieties is less bland but I suspect will have the same problems with very little sauce or cheese extending near the edge of the crust. read more

Solid place for take - out pizza. We've got pretty much every pizza available, and the crust is crispy and the toppings are tasty. They're also quick with the order, and the food is always ready when you pick up. We've never got anything other than pizza, but this was our go-to place in Belmont! read more

Truly awesome, authentic Italian food. Pasta is fresh, sauces amazing. My favorite is Fiorella's pink sauce.

The food arrived stone cold. It might have been good who knows when it died in the car during delivery.

All of the employees are awesome, and they're definitely trying to get repeat business, but my fiancé and I thought something was lacking in every dish.....flavor. The pizza sauce just seems flat. With every bite we kept saying how it was "pretty good", but it just needed some seasoning. We also had a fettucine dish that was O.K., but again, it was just lacking flavor. Perhaps more cheese, herbs? I'll give this place another shot just because every employee was so hospitable. Update - on of 6/23/11 the new owner sent me a message stating that Fiorella's Express is under new management and is now associated with the Newton Fiorella's and Fiorella's Express in Brighton (never been there). My boyfriend and I don't order a lot of take-out, but this is mostly because if we were to eat another piece of cardboard-like pizza or too greasy Chinese food we would scream. We were therefore quite excited to find Fiorella's Express take-out menu at our front door. Fiorella's Express offers gourmet Italian food at very reasonable prices. We ordered the Caprese ($8) and toasted ravioli ($7) as an appetizer as well as the chicken cacciatore ($12) and eggplant parmigiana ($10) for our main dishes. All of our dishes were good except that the tomato sauce for the toasted ravioli was a little bland and there could have been more chicken in the chicken cacciatore. It wasn't bad though, and it was much better than the other restaurants in the area that offer delivery. I am giving Fiorella's Express a three star rating because while the food is decent, it isn't anything extraordinary. However, I definitely see us ordering take-out from Fiorella's Express in the near future. The food is pretty good, I had the chicken parm sandwich and garlic bread. Service is good too, with a place to sit down. I would stick with their sandwiches vs meals. The other parties in the group did not get as lucky with their meal as the ones who got the sandwich. read more

So disappointed. I rarely order takeout with my coworkers who order nearly every day. I had a hankering for an eggplant sub so I ordered one. It had one thin strip of eggplant in it. I was so upset I called them back. They said they were having a problem in the kitchen. They put a note on my order for next time. But that was my supper as I worked a 12 hour shift. Not sure what it means to put a note on my account but why would I order from them again when I know another takeout restaurant in the area has yummy eggplant subs. Usually with so many bad reviews, the management responds on Yelp but I do not see any responses. read more

I was really loving the Belmont location and enjoy the food, but the last time I was there I made the mistake of looking up. The ceiling over the pizza and food prep area was disgusting. The ceiling tiles near the air blowers were covered in greasy dust bunnies. I don't know how the Belmont board of health allows this never mind the operators of the restaurant. read more

Delicious to-go menu. Not like the stuff that looks good in person but tastes like crap by the time you get it home. I've had nothing but great portion sizes for the cost. Love their seafood ravioli. Best red sauce in the known universe--best eggplant parm dinner or sandwich--excellent house salad and dressing--hands down one of the best italian joints in all of the greater boston area. Know that for a couple of years, before 2011, they had a different owner and they had run the place down. We went to Cafe Fiorella for the 1st time 2 weeks ago. We really enjoyed it. The garden salad is fresh, not bagged. My sons enjoyed their meatball sub and mozzarella sticks. We have gone back a few times since, trying different things. I am not a fan of the wraps, but really love the pizza and shrimp scampi. Although the pasta portion is not huge, they did give me 6 large shrimp that were really yummy! As much as I love my garlic bread, I can pass on theirs. It was dry, semi-burnt and didn't have much of flavor. The pepperoni fra diavlo was yummy per my husband. Overall it's pretty good, and we will go back again. read more

Read a lot of reviews, thought FE was worth a try. Picked up an Italian red at the local wine shop down the street and chicken parm from FE. I had high hopes but it was average at best. For $12, sure, reasonable value, but wouldn't go back based on this one dish. Pasta had been cooked hours before, had a sort of mealy textured. Sauce was fair, chicken cutlet fair, some sort of melted fake mozzarella on top. Again, for $12, you can't expect that much but had high hopes that I'd be a regular. Fair food at a reasonable price. I'm really hovering between two and three stars. I order from them periodically, and there is nothing wrong per se, though the food is really uninspiring. The pizza is just pizza, and there is so much in the area in terms of really great pizza. The main advantage for me is that it is relatively close to my home, and my daughter has a rare allergy which makes it difficult to find a pizza she can eat. Fiorella's just so happens to be allergen free for her. If you order, expect to get fair pizza, but nothing special. read more

I'm done with this place. First I call for delivery- I'm 20 minutes from home and the pizza shop he says 40 minutes- he tells me "but you're only 5 minutes away, you can pick up" - my apartment at least was 5 minutes away. I agree to pick it up- saying I am 20 minutes away driving home. I get the pie. Drive home after an exhausting day- and it's totally luke warm. I live 3 minutes away. Who knows how long it sat in a box on the counter. And even worse- all the bubbles are black and the bottom is charred. It tasted burned. We threw more than half out- despite being starved. It was not worth eating. How much does it cost to make a $16 pizza? Could you re-do it if you burned it? Customer not worth it? Well on my way to the trash chute a guy asks me- hey is their Pizza any good- I open the box to my charred garbage and said- good for garbage. I explained that of my last 3 pizza orders, 2 have been burned. I had not ordered in several months- I hoped they had a new cook who knew how to use a pizza oven. So if you order from Fiorelli's- open the box before you walk out and make sure they didn't sell you a burned Pie! I hope thousands of people read this. read more

Not so notable under new ownership - I loved the old Fiorellas so much - used to talk to the owner about Soccer all the time and they made some great salads. The new place is pretty sanitized and lacks character. The food is okay, definitely not noteworthy. If you're just hungry - it's totally fine. If you want something unique there are better pie shops in the neighborhood. read more

I've been four or five times this past year. Keeps changing everytime I come in. Good to know they make their caesar salads with the real stuff, anchovie paste! As far as the seafood goes, the prices arent exactly up my alley. portions are small too. Counter staff is mediocre now, seems like something shifted in that place since summer started. Depressing in there actually. the young girl I used to see there every time i came in no longer works there, which is dissapointing because she was a charming little one- full of life. saw her at conleys no more than a week bussing tables. long gone now the pizza, its really something. big slice for a small price! i used to eat in pretty often but like i said, the place is depressive now. everything is sloppier now too. The reason I find this restaurant so wonderful is you can have delivery of the outstanding food right to your door. The fiorellas chicken Marsala is the greatest with its sauce that is bursting with flavor and fresh large spongy mushrooms. Make sure you add a Caesar salad and garlic bread. These are staples that should not be missed the opportunity to try. Deserts are outrageous. read more

My sister and I order sandwiches from here all of the time. They are so fresh and tasty! She loves the chicken Caesar wrap. I love the chicken sandwich with the goat cheese and spinach. Once in a while we split a french fry parm. Yum. The delivery is always fast and friendly. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered delivery, took forever. The food was cold when it got here. Pizza is similar to what you'd get on a heat lamp in a cafeteria - rubbery cheese bland sauce, floppy soggy crust. It had clearly not been made fresh. Buffalo wings were just plain chicken fingers. I ordered delivery and I got a half order of a lasagna plate and RAW pizza. I called to complain and the lady told me they had "changed" portion sizes even though they charge the same? I had to cook the pizza I ordered. Very BAD customer service ! read more

This place is GREAT! When we moved to Belmont we were excited because we would be able to order from here now! The food is high quality Italian food but they don't kill you on the price. It's so fairly priced for what you get. Plus the size of the meals can feed you for the whole day! I can't say enough. The shrimp scampi is FANTASTIC! read more

Just don't order any pizza from this place. Pizzas are soggy even if you ask them to make is well done. I order a steak pizza and I have never seen a pizza like this. It is almost like they forgot the put the steak on top while they make the pizza and they just added right before they served it me. Never again! read more

Fiorella's is delicious but yes, the delivery takes a while so order ahead! I don't mind waiting for quality though. And frankly, if you're starving then get in your car, drive down the street and pick it up yourself no? They're busy and delivery takes a while for a reason...its good! I have never been able to order delivery for good italian food before so I'm siked. I would list a few favorites but everything is great from pasta to pizza to sandwiches. But definitely get the cheese bread sticks on the side! The small pizzas are more like personal size but I think they're perfect to share two (I'm not sure if they specify this on their menu). I'm not surprised people are complaining about that, it's the issue with most Americans. I look forward to visiting them at their restaurant location in Newton. read more

I heard such good things about this place. I went to the one in Newton for my first time and had a wonderful chicken parm. I got takeout from the one in Belmont, however, and was so disappointed. Best Pizza in Belmont. They have the thin crust brick oven style that you cant find everywhere. I have yet to try one that I don't love. When Im not in the mood for pizza, I always get their chicken parmigian and gnochi. The chicken basilico pasta and ceaser salad are also really amazing. This has quickly become our go-to delivery place. We've never eaten in, so this review is just of their delivery service. Taking the delivery process in order: First, props to any place that puts their menu on the web. We misplace our delivery menus all the time, so it's nice to be able to just hit the website. Second, the folks on the phone are always friendly and never seem rushed. I never need to spell my street address or correct the order when they repeat it back to me. Third, the delivery folks are equally nice. They're friendly, chatty, and clearly big fans of the food their delivering. They also remember repeat customers (or might have their memory jogged if the store keeps good records -- either way, it's nice). And then there's the food. The small pizzas and calzones are a damned nice deal, with tons of toppings/fillings for under $7 a pop, and all of the ingredients are very, very fresh. Whenever I get a veggie pizza (like the Gardenia), the toppings look like they were bought at a farmer's market that day. The chicken pesto one tastes like the sauce was made that day, and the chicken is great. The crust is on the thin side, but that's what I prefer. The pastas are just as good. My wife, who is a tortellini snob, orders nothing but the cheese tortellini, and my daughter loves the linguini. I'm a huge fan of the Salmon Creamy Pesto, which is a much better dish (in concept as well as in execution) than I'd have expected from an Italian delivery place. We've never had the sandwiches or any of the other specialty pastas, but I do plan to get those at some point. My only (minor) criticism here is that the garlic bread (free with every pasta order) isn't quite as garlicky as I'd like. That's not minor enough for me to dock a star, though. ETA: I'm writing this on December 20, 2008, the day after the first nasty snowstorm of the season, and in spite of the massive amount of snow on our street and the neighboring ones, they delivered today and yesterday! read more
