I wanted to like Fire Wings more than I did. The flavors had moments, but the chicken was fighting the whole order. I got the 40 Pack with Saigon Street, Korean Kick, Peking and Cali Rub. Sauce coverage was good, but the wings themselves tasted overcooked. I can forgive to-go wings losing some crisp, but the meat itself was tough, chewy and dry. That's the part you can't sauce your way out of. Saigon Street was my favorite flavor. It had the Vietnamese fish sauce wing profile I wanted: savory, a little sweet and solid overall. I would've liked more tang, but I'd order the flavor again. The problem was that almost half of that batch were tiny overcooked flats with barely any chicken on them. At that point, they're basically saucing bones. Korean Kick was solid: sweet with a little heat, pretty much what I expected. Classic thick Yangnyeom profile without blazing spice. Cali Rub reminded me of a BBQ-style seasoning, but there wasn't enough rub on mine. Smoky, sweet and it works well. I actually enjoyed this one a lot, it just needed more rub. Bomb flavor, light execution. Peking was my least favorite. It was edible enough, but it tasted more like char siu than Peking. Deep red, thick, sweet-savory and missing the plum-style tang I expected. Basically char siu that never saw the fire. If they called it char siu, I'd probably have fewer complaints. Calling it "sweet and sour" just made the missing tang stand out more. The seasoned fries were rough. They're that battered, seasoned dredge-style fry, similar to Rally's or Checkers, so they're already on the oily side by design. Enjoyable for a few bites and that's about it. The garlic noodles had a really good chewy texture, but they were dry as hell and the garlic was missing in action. I mostly tasted parmesan and parsley more than anything. Great chew, no garlic, no moisture. For dipping sauces, the blue cheese was okay. The honey mustard leaned more savory, almost like Chick-fil-A's Honey Roasted BBQ packet, instead of bright, sweet and tangy. Not really what I want from honey mustard. Veggies were fine: thick cut and crisp. Pickup was fine, but the location is annoying if you're just trying to grab food and go. You have to park in the structure and pull a ticket. First 90 mins free if you wanna walk around or dine in. Overall, Fire Wings has good flavor ideas, but this order had too many execution issues. I'd still consider trying it again because some flavors worked, but the chicken needs to meet the sauces halfway. read more

Very disappointed with the way my wife was treated at Fire Wings in Long Beach. I placed an online order for 120 wings and a garlic noodle for pickup around 5:30 PM. Since I was at work, my wife picked up the order for me. When she arrived, she saw two bags on the counter and asked, "Two bags?" The employee helping her, a Black woman, responded with an attitude and said, "No, only one bag." My wife was confused because there was no way 120 wings and a garlic noodle could fit into a single bag. When my wife got home, we discovered that 70 wings and the garlic noodle were missing. We had to drive 15 miles back to the restaurant to pick up the rest of our order, wasting time and gas because of their mistake. What made the experience even worse was that there was no apology, no discount, and no compensation for the inconvenience. Mistakes happen, but treating customers disrespectfully and making no effort to make things right is unacceptable. This experience left a very bad impression, and I hope management addresses both the customer service and order accuracy at this location. read more

Absolutely disappointing service below zero customer service tonight on May 13th around 10PM. The male Caucasian worker working tonight was beyond rude and honestly one of the worst employees I've ever dealt with in the restaurant industry. We drove all the way from Downey because we've been to this location before and have always been served, even around 10:30PM. Tonight the doors were still open, so we walked in thinking service was still available. Instead of properly explaining anything, the worker immediately said, "No more orders, online only," with a rude attitude and zero professionalism and this was still 45 minutes before closing. No apology, no customer service, no attempt to explain respectfully. Just dismissive and unprofessional behavior. Owners, you seriously need to train your staff better because employees like this ruin the reputation of your business. I understand workers may not care the same way owners do, but the way this employee treated customers was completely unacceptable. My partner and I ordered online for pick up and our orders were ready within the time frame that they had initially quoted us. We both got 6 piece combos - 6 wings, a side, and a drink. I customized my order to be all flats for an extra cost and upgraded my side to zucchini fries, so my total came to a little under $19. You do get a large portion of the side, but I don't think it justified the cost of my meal. I do think it was rather pricey for what it was and 2/3 of my customization was not fulfilled. There was an option to do the wings extra crispy for free and extra saucy for a cost. My wings were definitely not even crispy (and I picked up my order right away and ate it within the same plaza) and it was overly saucy.. should extra saucy even be an option at that point? This place literally explains itself... Fire Wings! Coming in, I expected the wings to be okay and be compared to Wingstop or Buffalo Wild Wings, but after trying it, I think it's waaay better. The wings come unbattered, and in my opinion makes the wings juicier compared to being battered. They have an abundant amount of flavors with both wet and dry rub. I also tried the garlic fries and they hit the spot. The fries are crinkle cut fries and are soft and crispy. I definitely recommend getting the fries to pair with the wings. This place also has a good amount of beers on tap. This place is located in 2nd and PCH so you're surrounded by great stores and food spots. This was and is a good spot, I found out about this place within a super mega awesome complex of retailers that share the same "outdoor mall" space. I like this place (the shopping complex) and the location, it feels Millennial Hipster like, but not in a pretentious douche way. It feels upscale without the snobbery. The Korean kick flavor was heavy on the sauce but I was totally fine with that cause it was so good! The mango habanero flavor was lacking for me it was a little dry which left the flavor for the chicken itself and I don't find the chicken to be anything special the sauce is the key here. The garlic fries were okay they were extremely oily but pretty bland at the same time. On a side note, my stomach felt a little weird afterwards which I think might be cause of the oil overload from the fries. While I enjoyed the Korean kick flavor a lot I don't think I would be returning here again. I feel that there are better wing options out there but there are also a lot of flavors on their menu I haven't tried so those might be worth a try. read more

I got 10 wings, half with Dragon and the other with Sweet Thai. Dragon is a sweet soy sauce that is very watery - a la "soy sauce". The Sweet Thai? Typical sticky version, very flavorful, but sadly not a lot of kick. Nevertheless, both sauces are tasty and worth trying. Great little joint with a lot of beers on tap and several tv screens.
