During a recent trip to lenox it was fantastic to find a restaurant that would allow us to eat dinner and sit with our dogs. The restaurant had outdoor seeing in the front porch, seating inside, and a couple tables in the back on the back porch for casual drinks and food. I wish I could endorse this place, but felt the food was just alright and very overpriced. The guacamole was eight dollars for a very small scoop. The entrees took a very long time to get to our table. I had the chicken sandwich with fries. Pretty standard ... not worth the $15 price tag. My girlfriend got chicken rather than shrimp but we were so hungry that we didn't say anything so that we can just eat. Overall I felt our waiter was more concerned with serving his friends on the table next to us than serving us. Our dinner took a very long time from start to finish. read more

Went there for late dinner and ordered a glass of wine, tomato soup and veggie burger. The wine which was a French chardonnay, was excellent. The soup was okay. The veggie burger came with lettuce, tomatoes and fries and a bun that took up most of the plate. I slathered it with ketchup, bit into it and tasted no vegetables. Rather, it tasted mealy and just like Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix, the kind with herbs in it. There were a few orange specs of what appeared to be carrots. I had someone else taste it and they said the same thing--stuffing mix. I would have taken a picture of the stuffing burger but I was too busy gagging at the site of it. And I paid $40 for this meal. read more

Pathetic service. Forgettable food. Nonsensical atmosphere. We had reservations for 8pm on Sat, and were greeted by the husband of the owner. Unfortunately, his priority was setting up for his acoustic guitar gig, which was meant to be the opening act for a hip-hop show. We were seated about 12 inches from where he was setting up, despite the restaurant being almost empty. We then waited, and waited for service. We finally got 2 drinks, but had to go to the bar (where we found our waitress talking with the staff) to order drinks for the rest of the table. We moved ourselves to a table in the back, since it was clear we weren't going to get any help from the waitstaff. to get away from the host/musical guest. In the meantime a table of 8 or so got up and left since they hadn't been acknowledged, beyond the "host" telling them about his guitar act that was starting soon. When we did get drinks they seemed watered down. The food was fine, but definitely overpriced. We hurried out as quickly as possible, since we hadn't planned a "fine dining" experience to end with live hip-hop. If this place is in business next time i'm in Lenox, I would be shocked. read more

Extremely poor service. They almost ruined my anniversary. I didn't care for my meal there server gave a concerned look before asking me what I wanted to do and I nicely said it was cooked Badly and tasted bad and did not want it. Very puzzled waitress eventually left and got the manager to come to the table. She gave me an attitude and was annoyed that I didn't like the meal. And my wife and I were so upset with the service she left her plate with 1 bite and I decided against ordering a different meal that was eventually offered with hesitation from the manager. Chaotic service from untrained staff who ignored us, spilled things, couldn't answer basic questions and ignored special requests. Our waitress was pleasant but clearly overwhelmed and unprepared to work in a busy restaurant. My linguini, at $20, was an overcooked under seasoned gloppy mess. A vegetable maki roll appetizer was ok. My tablemates' food was all just ok. There are much better choices in Lenox with professional service and distinguished food. read more

I was a little hesitant about this based on the earlier reviews, but we were so pleased with our meal! My son had an absolutely delicious personal cheese pizza on sourdough crust. It was a nice treat for "kids food." My husband had a burger with great flavor and outstanding hand cut fries. I had a delightfully fresh and satisfying salad with incredibly flavorful grilled chicken. The service was not fabulous, but not poor either. It seemed like a slow night and the server likely had too many tables for one person... but our water wasn't filled up until asked and the food took a bit longer than I'd have liked. However, we were so pleased with the ambiance and quality of the food that it was a great experience overall. read more

The service was terrible. The server was unorganized and did not listen. The soup was cold and the hamburgers over cooked. We asked for rare and they all came out well done. We sent one back and it came out well done again. The bill was wrong and Had to be redone. As residents of Lenox I know why we never go here. We stopped by Firefly after a full day of shopping. We were greeted and seated in their warm a cozy dining room. The special tonight was an amazing salmon served with Spanish rice, spinach and little tomatoes. It was delicious! Go to Firefly you won't be disappointed. read more

Sat outside last weekend, and were able to get a table for 6+ without a reservation - which was nice. Service was friendly, although relatively unaware that we didn't have utensils or napkins (so we had to wait until we had those, even though our food came first). Prices are expensive for what you're ordering (i.e. $17 for a hamburger, $13 for a salad, etc)...but it is in the heart of Lenox. Ambiance inside looks very nice, although there is a long queue for unisex restrooms (so plan accordingly). read more

Upon walking in the hostess shuts the door in my girlfriends face while a waitress pushes me forward saying excuse me to pass us. I then sat at a bar where my cup continuously sat empty. New Years Eve and granted it was very busy. There were only two servers for the largest room and the burden of the serving fell on one heroic server as the other one was rarely seen. The salad came drenched if not drowning in salad dressing and it took quite some time to return it as the one functional server was occupied with the entire room. The risotto was soaked/drenched in oil and almost inedible. The rest of the meal was just ok except for the fries which were great. The diners nearby and we made the best of the situation and how long it took to get served by kidding around but this was an awful experience. On a Friday evening with a bustling crowd (tho NOT filled), it took forever to even get our water glasses filled - bread took another wait, we were never offered coffee or tea after ASKING for the dessert menu. Fantastic gazpacho, very good lobster rolls, even the bread squares and oil were tasty - the $9 cold (right out of the fridge, no warming involved!) chocolate cake was just a waste of $9. (did I mention $9 for a cupcake?). The blood orange martini was strong and wonderful. such a pretty restaurant - such potential - such good food. I hope the owner gets a manager who actually WELCOMES the guests at the front door and get the kind hearted wait staff some training. read more

I just returned from The Berkshires following a long ski weekend. THE MOST MEMORABLE part of our trip was the time spent at Firefly. We enjoyed an amazing dinner the first night, and on our return the second night were welcomed as if we were part of Laura's family. The menu is eclectic and perfectly executed. The Pan fried chicken livers & Stout braised bison short ribs were over the top delicious. The kid had spaghetti marinara. This place has it all! read more

Very disappointed! Been to quite a few places in Lenox and this has been the worst. $35 for a NY strip that took all your effort to saw through, not even close to worth the $. Green beans were raw, not even close to al dente, i mean raw. Pan seared scallops were cooked on one side. Had to go to the bar to check on where our food was. Sat for a good 15 minutes before anyone took a drink order. Then sat waiting waiting waiting for waitress to get another. Poor service, poor food, wont be back. Been there a few times, not anymore, service has not changed , still terrible for a supposed quality place. Waitresses should be working at the Friendly. Meal was mediocre.Specials, like the Lobster roll for $12 , is half of regular $25 meal (this is not known till you ask). It should be an appetizer. We stopped in for dinner and came to wish we'd kept going. The waiter was personable, but never checked on us. The Manhattan was watery. A member of our party had to send her burger back twice because it was nearly raw. The lamb flatbread dish did not appear to have any lamb on it. The other two diners had salads that were underwhelming. Next time we are in Lenox, we'll look for another restaurant. read more

Service was inattentive and indifferent. Long waits in between simple things such as seating and bringing menus, menus and drink orders, and really everything else. When food arrived it was cold from having sat around in the kitchen. At the end of the evening we paid $100 for a burger and some chicken wings along with beverages. Pretty ridiculous. Fortunately, the bar and most of the restaurant seating are seperated. Bar can get very noisy. Service was good, not extra special. Menu OK. The Angus Burger is a good choice, the french fry side was way over done. Clueless restaurant. We ordered hamburgers cooked medium. One burger was very well done and both didn't come with bacon which was included according to the menu. Situation was corrected by staff. Wait staff looked lost and never came to table to ask us how we liked the food. We never got comped for anything despite food and staff problems. Though the food is tasty, the service is horrendous. The food took about an hour to come when the place was next to empty. When the food did come after the long wait I quickly noticed three things. They forgot the bacon to the bacon burger, gave chips when I had asked for fries, and gave me a very well-done burger when I ordered medium-rare. The french fries were also very very salty, almost inedible. Overall, the service was very poor, the waiter wasn't easy to find, the food took long to arrive, and they messed up the order a few times. When I attempted to order wings they said that they ran out. What kind of "pub" runs out of wings. They also included a large tip as part of the check. Very disappointed in food but even more the service. We were there for a pre-concert dinner, with a definite time to depart, and the staff and kitchen totally blew it. Worse, they seemed not particularly concerned as it was getting later and later, they skipped one of our orders and then delivered it too late to eat, and the food was adequate but definitely not worth the wait or the price. I had the special (fish) which lacked flavor - salt had to suffice. Find another option in Lenox or nearby - Church Street remains my favorite in Lenox. read more

I've been to Firefly 3 times since last summer and each was excellent, particularly a few days ago when my wife and my wife and iI had their well-priced prix fixe 3-course dinner with bottle of wine. The trout was just right served over a bed of delectable risotto absorbing with in remarkable flavoring I've never experienced. Even the salad dressing was among the best I've ever had. Staff was friendly and attentive. You can eat outside, at the bar, near the bar in a booth (which we did) or in a more formal dining area. Ive eaten at many Berkshire restaurants over many years. We visited on a Sunday 9/22/13 and only one waitress was takin care of the entire Resturant. Service was slow. We had the trout and it was poorly prepared and somewhat tasteless. Overall the menu and restaurant was very pedestrian. I will not visit the Firefly again. read more

My wife and I have been here a about 6 times over the years with our children. And only one time I can say the service wasn't up to par for the area. However the one time was addressed and made right without question! With regards to the food its spot on and always fresh and great. In addition every accommodation has been exceeded!!! The menu was promising, so we made the drive from West Stockbridge, but we were sorely disappointed. I've rarely had such poor service and mediocre food. Worst experience there this summer Server mixed up our order, forgot to bring things. Asked for bread with falafel app. Never brought it. Never brought water that we asked for. Server kept walking past us and never stopped to see if we wanted more drinks, which we did, but couldn't get his attention. Never brought olive oil for salads which we asked for when we ordered . Mine came with so much dressing that I couldn't have it. Orig. asked for none, Just olive oil on the side. They knew we were unhappy , rightfully so, said they would bring an apple crisp for the table on them. Then someone else came over and told us they have no more. Entire night was so bad and off, and not the first time for us either. We spoke to the owner who was drinking at the bar on the way out. She couldn't care less. We'll never go back there . Doesn't matter how nice you redo the inside. If the service is awful and staff is Indifferent, and the owner doesn't do the right thing, the customers won't come back! read more
