What an absolute disgrace. For months now (8+ months) this establishment, its food quality, staff and inability to stock necessities to sustain business has consistently been a failure. Today was the last straw - we ordered online 20 minutes prior to the scheduled pickup time and still had to wait for my order to be prepared. Two very simple menu items were ordered and were prepared incorrectly - the sub was not toasted and the salad was missing all of its toppings, included a veggie I specifically asked to not be included, and to top it off... the wrong dressing. When this establishment opened the staff took pride in their work and the quality of product they produced and were friendly to the customers. Until this changes - would NOT recommend this Firehouse Subs location. read more

I originally gave Firehouse a five-star review because when the order is right it's really freaking good. I thought about dropping my review to two stars but can't do it because of how good the food can be here. The last three times I've ordered from Firehouse I've specified no BBQ sauce and no mayo, only to end up with a sandwich wetter than a post-shower towel. Apparently I need to start checking my order each time before I leave. I hope they get better about reading the order slips; my family and I love it when the order is right but it's pretty spendy for a sandwich I don't enjoy. read more

I'm not sure what was going on in those other reviews or with whom, but I had a great experience today. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by I believe Tiffany. She was in the middle of a tasks, and politely let me know that she would be with me upon completion. She was really personable, super helpful and repeated my order back to me, as you know hearing with these masks can be a beast. She was even patient when I had to come back in and amend my order. My sammies were yummy and pile super high. I didn't have to wait long. She appeared to be taking things seriously, as I watched her sanitize in between tasks. I came in for a sub Tuesday night (October 29, 2024) at the Firehouse Subs location on Annapolis Road in Bowie, Maryland; but in addition to receiving a sub, I also received very bad treatment from the guy who was supposed to be the Manager on Duty. Near the end of this ordeal, this same guy -- who was wearing a blank Firehouse Subs name badge -- reluctantly said that his name was "J", which was possibly a fake name that was given to me, due to his unprofessional behavior in this situation, & I was the only customer in the restaurant when "J" felt the need to lecture & scold me for not being able to know how to redeem me Firehouse Sub Reward Points contained in my Firehouse Sub App. Even the young male cashier had to turn to the Manager on duty, since he seemed to be unsure as to how to navigate through my Firehouse Subs App in order to redeem my Rewards points. I am very comfortable using Apps on my smartphone, but I rarely have enough Firehouse Sub Reward Points available to redeem for a menu item, so I don't get to use this particular perk often -- but I didn't need to be scolded, along with receiving rude treatment from a so-called Mgr on Duty, when trying to patronize a Firehouse Subs location. I was also repeatedly told by Mgr. on Duty "J" that my Italian Sub would be cold, because they wanted to start cleaning up before closing time. The time was 8:45pm, & the posted closing time for this particular Firehouse Subs location was 9pm. For whatever reason, Mgr. on Duty "J" stepped in to make my Sub, instead of letting 1 of the 2 other counter workers prepare my food. Since the counter at Firehouse Subs is very high, & prevents most customers from seeing the sandwich preparation process, I honestly don't feel comfortable eating this sandwich that was prepared by a person who was very argumentative, & said to me that "I hope that you enjoy the sandwich; let me know how you like it when you come back" -- as if I would ever be patronizing this place again. So, I ended up wasting my accumulation of Firehouse Sub Rewards Points for a sandwich that I will be throwing away, out of an abundance of caution; because of this bizarre experience I had while I was merely trying to get a Sub Sandwich from Firehouse Subs location in Bowie, Maryland (10/29/2024). Yelp's rating system forced me to give 1 Star, when I actually wanted to give Zero Stars to the Firehouse Subs location on Annapolis Road in Bowie, Maryland. There are far too many competing Sub Shops businesses [such as Jersey Mike's, Capriotti's Sandwich Shop, Charleys Cheesesteaks & Wings, Jimmy John's, Potbelly Sandwich Shop, Three Brothers Italian Restaurant, Wegmans, Wawa, Subway, -- just to name a few] that customers can go to -- in order to get great Subs from -- without getting treated badly by its workers & managers on duty. read more

This Firehouse Subs has messed up my order twice now! Something is always missing. I ordered the pepperoni meatball sub but they can't make it because their toaster oven is broken and has been for months! I only know because I called to find out why my order is always messed up. The worker said someone should have let the delivery driver know but no one said anything until I saw my whole sub was missing! He also said the manager knows but doesn't care that it's broken and isn't doing anything about it. But after he handed my sandwich and went to leave he said "have a good day sir" "oops, I mean ma'am" I'm trans so I get these jokes a lot. I'm a fan of Firehouse Subs and thankfully I didn't experience the issues that some of my fellow Yelpers had with this particular location. I stopped in and ordered a sub and salad. Although they forgot to include my dressing along with my salad (side eye), I still had a pleasant visit. The wait wasn't long at all, my sub was filled with deliciousness, my salad was fresh and filling, and the staff was pretty friendly. Ample seating was available and the entire restaurant was clean. The fact that they steam their subs really locks in the flavor and makes it that much more enjoyable. Any hot sub can be made cold and all subs include premium meats and cheeses....usually piled high! I use to frequent the other sandwich shop up the street, but since I discovered Firehouse, I've switched over! read more

For the 3rd time in 2 months, half of our order was wrong. We order on the app which explicitly spells out what we want. I'm not sure why these instructions are not followed. Subs are good. It takes time to get your order. Bowie location may be unique with regard to slow service. I'd give them another chance.

I have had this sandwich three times and today 9/15/21 1130am I ordered a large and only half had meat. It was very sloppy. The bag it was in looked like a reused bag out of the trash, grease all over it. I was so disappointed that there is no pride in today's servers. Would they eat this mess? If I didn't have a class to get to, I would have taken it back. I'll find another place for sandwiches. It was just disgusting and gross, waste of money. read more

I am glad this isn't the first Firehouse Subs place I have been to, because if it was, i probably wouldn't eat there again. It's not well run. They are very slow when it comes to having items ready for either Grub Hub or Door Dash. If you get Firehouse, do not buy it on Grub Hub or Door Dash. If you do, you will be waiting a minimum of 75 minutes for your order, if it even arrives. A couple weeks ago, my family ordered 2 subs at 5:45 PM on a weeknight. We check the grub hub app and it says the delivery time will be 45-50 min (635 ETA). Nothing has been delivered at 7pm. We finally call the place at 7:15 pm and according to the manager that I spoke with at this location, the Firehouse system wasn't updated and they didn't have any record of receiving our Grub Hub order. I had to contract Grub Hub in order to get a refund. I was told that if I wanted to place a reorder on Grub Hub, I could. But it would still take 45 min for it to be ready. I obviously declined. You didn't do your job in the first place, why should I trust that you'll do it now? With so many other competent food establishments open, I'm not going to waste my time ordering from places that can't do their job. Save your money. If you like Firehouse, drive to the Crofton location. The service and quality is 1000 times better. read more

Walked in Firehouse immediately the "manager rose" hops off the counter and proceeds to talk about her personal life with her coworker. We were only greeted by the male employee. After walking up to the counter Rose the "manager" proceeds to stare and my friend and son and mumble something under her breath. I asked her what was said and she proceeded to say she does not like my attitude and isn't going to serve me. She proceeded to say "get out" I said "are you going to put me out". I ordered today a pastrami and turkey sandwich and they gave me a ham sandwich. Also, the potato soup that order has a weird looking color. Too bad that I ordered for to go otherwise I would have returned it and ask for my money back. You can tell that they don't care about their customer as they are as rude as hell. Ehhh, the last couple visits fell short. The bread gets soggy quickly, destroying the entire sandwich. The tomatoes were inedible. Toast your bread like real sub shops (I don't think there are any in MD) do. Minimizes the soggy bread issue also layer your ingredients to stop the sog. read more

So our office has ordered a few times online as we did today, when we got there to pick up the order, lil busy but when asked about our order, the person said he didnt have it, then proceeded to take to order all over again , the sandwich's were made very poorly, like thrown together, and not we we actually ordered, we were told there was no bowls for the salad,instead we ordered chicken soup, and was given potatoe soup, wasted our entire hour lunch, our experience today was disappointing, we will fall back on ordering from them for a while. read more

We arrived at 5:30 excited about grabbing a sub at a new location. When we walked in we were the only customers. No one greeted us and we stood waiting for someone to take our order for 15 minutes. We even had enough time to go and use the restroom. I'm not sure if the employee was having a bad day or was just not ready to serve us. At any rate, hopefully this isn't an everyday thing. Carry out order was totally screwed up. Went in and ordered 2 large subs. First they were rung up as mediums so they had to void the whole thing and start over. Then they entered it all wrong. One sub was ordered fully loaded and came with only mayo. The other was a "Hero" which should have roast beef, ham and turkey. No roast beef. Asked for the pickles to be included. No pickles in the bag. With the cost of gas it was just too expensive to go back to get it all corrected. Won't ever go there again. read more
