We love Five Guys food but, after today, never again. Hadn't been there in about 8 months but went today and ordered our usual: 2 cheeseburgers, 2 small fries, 2 medium drinks. But was absolutely shocked when my bill was over $50. For fast-food carry-out?? Another customer told me 5G got rid of any combo pricing and that he was shocked by his bill too. Not sure when they increased prices but they're going to price themselves out of business. On Sunday afternoon at 1:30pm there was only one other customer in the place. If we want to pay $50 for a meal, it certainly won't be for two burgers and fries. I know prices everywhere have gone up. But for that price, we have plenty of restaurants to choose from. read more

Looked like they made it for their ex or their boss just told them they can't go on break yet. If you've been to Five guys you know the burgers are always great, they give you a mountain full of delicious fries & the price is nuts but it's always worth it! This location is always consistent and gets out food quickly even when it's busy. It's located at the back end of the town center and has plenty of parking in the parking lot. read more

I always order a lil Cheeseburger when I go to Five Guys and that's big enough for me. Mine was good as usual and there were a ton of fries for my teenage son and I to share at the bottom of the bag. The fries were cooked a little softer than I'm used to from Five Guys but that didn't stop us from pouring some malt vinegar on them and eating till we were stuffed. This is probably one of the most consistent fast food place experiences I've had. Every time I order from here, no matter the location, the food is always consistently very good and served up the same way. The bacon cheeseburgers are supreme. I would recommend getting a "little" sandwich if you're used to just a single patty burger. Their milkshakes taste like any other milkshake, but it's nice that they allow you to customize without any additional charge. This specific location is always serving up good food with a nice and polite staff--I don't think I can ever recall having an issue here after occasionally going to this spot over the past 10 years. read more

If you want a really good burger and fries, than look no further! I really love Five Guys burgers and fries. Sure, you'll leave with a bag of grease....literally, but if you're going to eat burgers and fries, why not go all out! I've had the little cheeseburger and the regular cheeseburger. The little cheeseburger is just a regular patty. Now call me greedy, but it's not enough for me. Don't judge me! I guess it would be for an underachiever, but I'm an overachieving meat and potatoes kind of chick....so fill'er up! LOL! The burger or cheeseburger comes on a bun (big surprise about that one) but you can add as many toppings as you would like at NO extra charge. They range from tomatoes, relish, lettuce, mayo, ketchup, bbq sauce, banana peppers and others. I noticed that if you get mayo or ketchup, it tends to make your bread soggy, so you may want to get it on the side. Especially if you're taking your food home. They also carry hot dogs, never had one, but I hear they're really good. The fries are made fresh daily and are delish. Two people can clearly share a regular order of fries. They fill your cup up and literally dump extra fries in your bag; hence the greasy bag you leave out with. Word to the wise, don't put your greasy Five Guys bag on your clothes or leather car seats. GREASE CITY! They have peanuts in the shell that you can nibble on why you wait or take some home. All food is prepared to order and I've never had to wait an extremely long time. It's a bit pricey, especially if you're going with a family of 4 or more. They even have a really cool Coca Cola soda fountain where you can mix and match different flavors; i.e. lime, lemon, vanilla...etc. The restaurant itself is very clean and the staff is always patient and helpful. Every now and then you have to get a little grease in your system. Although this place is addictive, I don't recommend going on a regular basis. read more

I hadn't been to a Five Guys in a long time and thought I would give it a try. Now I remember why I haven't been in a long time. The burgers are so-so. They come in one size and the fries, while plentiful, as a bit on the greasy side as you can tell from the paper bag they put them in with your burger. The store was nice enough. This is my second disappointing experience at this location. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger + extra patty in a bowl. I asked for extra cheese, extra grilled jalapeños, grilled onions, light pickles, light ketchup and extra mustard. They left off the extra cheese, and completely forgot the ketchup and mustard (no one likes a dry burger). The "extra" grilled jalapeños totaled 4 tiny slices. To top it off, the burger was burnt and dry- not juicy at all. The whole thing went in the trash. Waste of $12+. Don't bother with this location. read more

The time is 1500hrs. I tried calling this place today numerous times today. A female answered the phone and says.."wait a second" then places me on hold. I was on hold for over 25 minutes. I hung up and called back immediately, even selecting the option to speak with a Manager. I know she heard the phone ringing!! I then waited about 15 minutes before proceeding to call back, still NO ANSWER. I tried calling back again, 4 additional times. She finally answered, I asked her what her name was and she did not respond(complete silence). I then requested to speak to the manager, only for her to hang the phone up on me! The customer service at this Bowie, Md location is HORRIFIC!! I wonder if the Store Manager or Regional Manager for this establishment knows of the disrespect this location subjects customers to! Pleasant experience! I've visited this Five Guys a couple of times now and find it to be pretty decent. Each time I've gone he drink machines have been functional, there haven't been an overwhelming number of peanuts on the floor, and the staff has been very friendly. Busy burger joint ideally located in the Bowie Town Center. Plenty of parking in the many lots and great opportunities to multitask in terms of fulfilling your shopping endeavors. Pros: The food is consistently good. The burgers and hot dogs have a nice char-grilled taste. I'm a big fan of the hot dogs in particular, which are all beef and juicy on the inside. The fries are cooked in peanut oil and are well seasoned. They can be pretty addicting and come in a portion size that's big enough for sharing. The prices are relatively decent for the quality you receive. In fact, when you compare them to some of newer burger joints you realize that Five Guys is actually a bargain....which may or may not be saying much. Cons: This location can get packed at various points so it may take awhile for your food to be ready. Sadly, milkshakes are not offered here so you're left with just fountain beverages. The fries are small in size and sometimes come out a little unevenly done. Overall, Five Guys won't wow most people but it can definitely hit the spot without hitting your wallet. read more

As Five Guys grows in popularity and puts up more and more locations, the heart of what it once was is quickly being lost and it is becoming just your regular burger chain with ridiculous corporate policy. Funny, I remember the days as a kid in Springfield, when there were only 2 or 3 other locations and it was a really awesome VA burger place that was a hidden treasure. As you waited for your burgers, you ate peanuts and threw the shells on the ground. Service was really friendly, and they would accommodate any request within reason. Nowadays, there are no more peanuts everywhere. Which personally I think is dumb, unless it's specifically because employees don't want to clean it up. If it's for people with nut allergies, guess what, they still can't eat anything there. A large majority of my friends have nut allergies so when we want a burger and fries day, we can never come here because of other things Five Guys uses to cook with. So why not bring back the old vibe then? Oh well...this is minor. Fast forward to my very last visit, my boyfriend and I ordered our burgers and as always (and I have done this every time I have gone into a Five Guys for something like 15 years or more) we ordered our fries "extra crispy". Immediately we were told "corporate has cracked down on policy and fries were to be made the way fries were intended so extra crispy is not an option". You must be kidding me. Fries are "intended" to be eaten however I want to eat them for starters. Secondly, why would you alienate customers like this? The biggest complaint I have heard about Five Guys is their soggy fries, which I always told my friends, it's not a problem because just ask them to cook them a bit longer. I'm not understanding why on earth this would be a problem for them. Outside of major fast food chains like McDs & BK, the regular quick burger stops you can always ask for fries like this. Five Guys have been my establishment for years since they were just a place I'd have to trek to Virginia for. The South had Steak'N'Shake, the North had White Castle, and the West has In'N'Out. When Five Guys started franchising a few years ago, it has declared the Mid-Atlantic to be worthy place for a great burger franchise outside of the fastfood realm. And when they opened one in Bowie, I felt like I had my prayers answered. The best thing about Five Guys and why they should represent us Mid-Atlanticos? There is no gimmick to their burgeriness. Why go to McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's when you need to have your burger fix? It might take a few more minutes of waiting, but it is well worth it. I can honestly say that 5 Guys makes the best burger I have ever had. Sure, they cook their fries in greasy peanut oil and the entire meal is likely more calories than I should be eating for the day, but if you're going to blow your diet, at least do it right. Although I think McDonald's makes the best fries (when they're fresh out out of the oil), 5 Guys makes some great fries. They put a small cup in a brown paper bag and then fill the cup to overflowing. They are so generous with the amount they give you that I can often split one order of fries with my wife. The burgers are amazing. Made to order, the cost is the same no matter what toppings you ask them to put on. Fresh ingredients at least make me feel like I'm eating somewhat healthy. It's a good thing more and more 5 Guys are popping up, but if you ever make it out to the Bowie Town Center, be sure to satisfy your desire for one of the best burgers you'll ever have at a reasonable price. read more

Chances are you've eaten at Five Guys so you know what to expect. Take it you're looking for something remarkable about this one. Only one incident here makes this remarkable and that was two years ago in 2012. (Served a tip of a food handler's plastic glove). They replaced the burger but didn't offer a refund (nor was it asked/demanded). Figure if the order is wrong you replace it; if the incident is egregious you refund the money--without prompting. But hey it's a fast food joint. What do you expect? Well not a piece of glove at least. I've eaten there once more when friends made it a rendezvous and without incident. But the memory of the glove and the not quite right resolution has soured me on this Five Guys. read more

Only giving it two stars because the staff was friendly, even if woefully unprepared to be exception sandwich artists today. I've been to this located twice with the same results outlined below. This will be the last time I do. The other one is not that far away. The cheeseburger was WAAAY over cooked. (Maybe 5 minutes over cooked). Tasted like an old piece of shoe leather. I could not finish it. Fries were fine. If they hadn't be, they would have a green furry monster to deal with because this particular day is been working in the rain and was a generally crap day. It's interesting that the burger was overcooked by so long even though by the time I paid got my drink wash my hands and sat down the burger was done. I'm late to the game when it comes to Five Guys since we don't have one San Francisco but as soon as I walked in it was so oddly reminiscent of In-N-Out. Pretty much same everything except for the free peanuts. The bigger difference is the portion size. For example when you order a regular fry it's 3/4 of a brown paper bag. I was like, "Who can eat that many fries?" Then I looked around and noticed I was the skinniest guy in the place.
