I ordered firehouse at 9:30 for delivery via Bitesquad. By 10:39 my sub wasn't delivered and I got a notification they were closing and it wasn't going to be delivered. I'll begin with the end: If you live or work around Dublin, Firehouse should be your new #1 sub shop. Let's see why... Firehouse opened recently, and I'd driven past it a few times, but I hadn't stopped in. The other day, however, they had someone outside dressed in a dalmatian costume. Apparently, I'm easily swayed by cartoon characters, because I decided to eat lunch there. The interior was very well-done. It has a fast-food-place vibe, but very clean. (Think squeaky clean Steak-n-Shake.) It has a TV above the ordering area that was playing ESPN, so you can watch the game while you eat. The whole atmosphere is very kid-friendly, and it was full of families eating lunch when I got there. The kids' meals came with a plastic fireman's hemlet, which seemed like a neat idea. I ordered an 8-inch Cheddar Brisket sub, which was about $6. Most of the 8-inch subs were around that price, too. While that makes it slightly costlier than Subway, the quality of the sub from firehouse was about twice as good as Subway. I was impressed at how tender and juicy the meat was, and the bread was excellent. It was tasty enough that I gobbled the sandwich quickly, and it was big enough that I wasn't hungry afterward. Firehouse provides a delicious, affordable lunch, and it's a nice place to take the whole family on the weekends. So... If you live or work around Dublin, Firehouse should be your new #1 sub shop. read more

We have Firehouse in North Carolina, and it's probably one of my Dad's favorite restaurants. I love that all their cups have real fireman stories and they have the free fire hats for kids. Def a family friendly restaurant! You get to customize lots too! I love the Hook and Ladder, amazing! Also, the pickles are incredible. Firehouse Subs has officially ruined Subway, Quiz-nos, and all those other mediocre sub dives for me. I'm not a sub person, but that has changed after I first tried this place a couple of months ago. I've tried several of their subs, and while they are all fantastic, nothing beats their Italian sub. They are also very generous with their toppings, unlike Subway, which requires their staff to put on a very small number of every topping (I know this because I worked there in high school). The subs are very filling, and the veggies are very fresh. The soft drinks are worth mentioning here because of their digital Coke machine that has over 100+ different flavors (Strawberry Sprite is awesome)! This machine is the cherry on top, and as far as I know no other restaurant chain in Columbus has one. The one minor complaint I have about this place is their bread. While it taste fine, it can get soggy really fast due to the amount of sauce they sometimes put on. Not a deal-breaker for me, but others may be completely turned off by this. If you live far away, I wouldn't advise takeout. That being said, they are the best subs I've had in Columbus. My dad was a firefighter, so I'm a little biased, but they definitely blow everyone else away. Subway is just awful, Quiz-nos is too limited, and Jimmy Johns is the most overrated sub place of all time. read more

Great place to go if you're craving a good sub!! Their hot subs are their specialty! The Italian and meatball subs are a couple of my favorites. They also have one of those big touch screen soda machines. You don't really see too many of those! Service is quick and staff is friendly as they greet you upon entering. I agree the "Welcome to Firehouse" could get agitating but they seem to have it synced and low-keyed enough as not to be obtrusive. Unfortunately I had to hear it a number of times because it was a solid 15 minute wait for my carryout lunch during noon rush. But as a sub goes, the King's Hawaiian pulled pork...pretty darn tasty. I also didn't get my pickle on the side. I got my wife a salad, it was decent. Clean, fun decor. But, if I'm in a hurry, Arby has a similarly delicious brisket sandwich which they can slam together in two winks, and pull a salad out of the prep cooler, and I'm outta there in a few minutes. read more

I ordered a smokehouse brisket, from the picture I saw it really seemed like a great idea, well once I received the sandwich that's where the trouble began. I ordered it with double meat, extra cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms, and horseradish. Well there was a good amount of meat, lots of meat. Unfortunately there wasn't any flavor to it, though it was supposed to be smoked. The cheese was minuscule, so was the other toppings. I'm not entirely sure what's so difficult about this place. I had 3 different staff members ask me if I "knew the deal" with menu. Perhaps, they should consider having printed menus lying about the place so people can study something other than the cluttered billboard behind the counter. The counter staff were nice and quick which was a plus. Although, it was distracting to hear them being prompted to yell "Welcome to Firehouse" every time someone walked in the door. The food was about Quiznos level. The bread is better than Subway but I prefer the fresh baked variety at DiBella's. I had the steak and cheese, which was all right although the meat was a bit dry but there was an ample amount of it. Overall, I feel like I paid more for less here. I could have gone to either Quizno's or DiBella's and had comparable food for a few dollars less. read more

I've been driving by Firehouse for months without stopping in and I am ashamed! I will have to drag my husband there soon. First off, I walked in and everyone said hello. As I made my way to the register, they picked up a menu and went through all the highlights - even sharing with me what their favorite sub was. I chose the first one he pointed at - the Hook & Ladder. It was great. I loved that I had a choice of size as well as bread. The dill pickle on the side was great! For $5.59, I got a decent size sub (big enough to leave the other half for my hubby to try) and a great tasting sandwich. I brought home the menu to show my husband. The interior looks great - big change from the previous tenant - Red Lobster. I do have to say I like this use of the space better! Bright, cheerful and everyone was very nice. When I want a sub, I'll head there. Dropped my change into the donation box and I am glad to see that they are supporting the firemen & women - locally! read more

I have been a customer a very loyal customer of fire house subs on Sawmill Rd., Columbus, OH for years. I sent my grandsons over to pick up an order I placed over the phone and gave them $100 bill. The manager refused the bill said it was bad after he marked it with a marker I asked my grandsons to put him on the phone he continued to argue with me after I let him know that the color that he got on the marker was the amber gold color that was supposed to be on the bill if it's a fake bill the marker is black. I told him I was a loyal customer I've been coming there for years and he told me that it is his discretion to be able to turn down any bill. I had to use my credit card over the phone which is fine I've done that before my grandkids got to the house with the order and several items were missing. I called them back and he was still very insistent that he did not have to use my hundred dollar bill and that he really didn't want to apologize for the trouble. I won't go back again I am extremely disgusted with the shift manager on second shift.I have never been treated poorly by any of the restaurants I have ever ordered from.. I have lived in Dublin for over 30 years. It was absolutely insulting that he would not use that $100 bill. My only assumption is that he didn't want to make change for it because the bill was fine.. or he was prejudiced against my grandson because he was young. After reading mostly positive reviews and being in the Sawmill rd area on Saturday I figured I would give this place a try. I was underwhelmed. The staff was friendly and there was nobody in line in front of me but it still took them over 5 minutes to prepare my italian sub to go. They also have the new fangled drink machine which lets you mix and match flavors. I just wanted a regular diet coke, and after waiting for several confused patrons to figure out the machine I made my selection (after a quick learning curve) and got a diet coke that tasted like it was mixed with all the flavors the previous customers ordered. After waiting and waiting for my to go order I went home and tried my italian sub. It was meh.. I have definately had better italian subs. I haven't written this place off but it is not something I would go out of my way for. Next time I will try a different sub and hopefully have better results. read more
