It's funny, I had never heard of this place until like, two days before I ended up going here. I literally had no idea Firehouse Subs was a thing, then I see this commercial on TV (which I completely disregarded, because there are plenty of non-chain sub places in DC), and then like two days later am out in the sticks with my mom, looking for a place that isn't fast food, and we ended up here! I really appreciated the fact that they have the calorie count next to the subs. This allowed me to at first think "oh, I've had a kinda rough day, I deserve the turkey bacon ranch whatever". And then seeing the calorie count made me realize that maybe I should go over to the low cal menu, so I did, and you know what? The chicken salad sandwich was actually really awesome, at a fraction of the calories. I also really loved the fact that they had sweet tea! A great alternative to fast food! read more

Food was good. I had the Turkey sub on white no mustard. My only issue was that the cashier, after immediately ringing me up, tapping the cash register with gloves on grabbed a pile of turkey with the same pair of dirty gloves was preparing to make my sub. I stopped him and explained that he just contaminated the meat and to throw it away and change his gloves. He looked at me like I had committed a crime by pointing this out. The other employees observed this and another young lady made my sub who was already making subs. I was satisfied with that. What kinda training are these employees getting where they think they can touch a dirty cash register and then make customers food? This has not happened at other firehouse sub locations that I have visted. Shouldn't my food have been comped? I'm just saying. read more

We had a large order for a work meeting that we placed online and it took 2 hours to get delivered to us! We called the store and talked to two females that didn't know anything. Finally got a young male to answer the phone. I asked where was the order, if it was ready. Again no response, he finally said yes it's here. Some female in the back said it was there so I said we're coming to get it and we want to speak to a manager when we get there yet. On our way there we get a text that a delivery person was 10 minutes away, but it p when we tried to contact the driver. The text response were all in Russian, so we had no idea what it was saying! We turned around went back to the office, mind you the restaurants only 10 minutes from us!! Got back to the office within 5 minutes, still no delivery!t took another 20 minutes before she actually showed up! She was very apologetic, but it was absolutely disgusting how long we had to wait to get our food!!! It was embarrassing that this happened during a meeting with regional visitors! This was the worst any of us have ever experienced with any kind of ordering from local restaurants, we will NOT order from them again,this was a $200+ order! I do not recommend delivery. read more

Saturday's Birthday lunch! Firehouse's Cuban on wheat. This was takeout from the Southpoint location. I ordered on the app and it was ready when I got there. And it was FREE! Free regular size sub on your birthday, when you get the app! I'm not typically a fan of Firehouse (it is my husband's favorite sub shop though). But this Cuban was really good! BEST - with air fryer. (Down side up!!) Low 300 degrees and about 10 minutes.I normally store them in the fridge for 1-3 days and heat up with air fryer. It tastes like/better than the restaurant! Try it ! read more

I stopped in for lunch on my way down to South Carolina. The restaurant was full around 1:00. They had patio seating which is nice. I redeemed 10,000 points from the rewards program and selected a free large Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar Brisket sub with any purchase (fountain soda). My husband commented how much heartier it was at this location. We left stuffed hours later, usually I am hungry. I didn't think it tasted as good as other locations. I couldn't pinpoint why. My husband said it had less sauce than normal. I guess I could have gone back to ask for more, but we were on a rush to get back on the road. Overall, no complaints I just wasn't impressed as I usually am. read more

I've been patronized this establishment for months, and believe me with a 4 family household it aint cheap. The have poor management skills. They allow these teen worker (Josh), who feels the world owes them something. I've never been so humiliated, by being called rude. For telling them my order has been incorrect the last 3 times. Josh was a line worker and was not the young man I was speaking with. Granted tge manager was there and never said a word. I started eating here in support of Firemen, but sorry no more. Took 20 minutes for them to make me and my wife's sub. Really no sense of urgency from the staff. When I received my sub they gave me an 8 inch instead of a 12 inch like I ordered. No apology just an "Oh, we'll remake it". I been to quite a few Firehouse Sub locations throughout the U.S. and for some reason this location's customer service is lacking every time I go. I ran the Spotsylvania County Stonewall Jackson 20-miler this morning & as soon as I was showered, hubs and I headed to Firehouse Subs! We'd never been to one in Fredericksburg, but it's one of our fave chains and this location did not disappoint! Maybe it's because we are so predictable, but we love that no matter what FS you go to, you're always greeted nicely with a "Welcome to Firehouse!" and we don't have to think twice of what to order: me, veggie sub on white and hubs: Hero on white and we always split a combo. Mmmmm Hmmmm Firehouse! The hubs used to frequent this chain when we lived in Atlanta, so I was super excited to see a location in Fredericksburg! Now that I'm co-located in Fredericksburg for work, I can frequent this establishment weekly if I so choose. I always get the Hook and Ladder aka Ham and Cheese, and it never disappoints. They load the sandwiches with meat and veggies, and serve it up hot and fresh with a pickle on the side. All of the locations have the coke machine with 100+ combinations, which is always fun as well. Lunch here costs me $8 bucks when I add chips and said drink. Service here is a-okay as well. It's Fredericksburg, so you know it's going to be slower paced. However, you're always greeted with a "Welcome to Firehouse (and you may or may not get a smile with it depending on who is working the register), and they bring your sammy to your table. This is my go-to place for hot subs! My favorites are the Italian and steak and cheese. The quality of the ingredients are far better than Subway in my opinion. The staff is friendly and the space is very accommodating for large groups. Definitely recommend! read more

The young lady on duty was extremely rude. She constantly snapped at us while we ordered even though we were very nice to her, realizing she may have had a hard day. She also kept glaring at the customers, and overcharged us. At one point she walked through the restaurant, sighed loudly, and hurled a piece of litter to the floor in the middle of the restaurant. The whole thing was quite a spectacle--I've never seen anyone portray such convincing frustration with customers and work in general. Firehouse Subs was a new concept to me and I figured giving it a try a few months ago since my office is close by. The people there are friendly and always welcome with a "Welcome to Firehouse!" which is kind of nice. The menu is your typical deli style menu with hot and cold subs, a few salads and thats about it. Since starting my own Firehouse quest, I have tried many things off of the menu. Everything is always fresh, made right in front of you, and hot, but the sandwiches always seem to lack that certain something special. Nothing ever tastes bad, it just doesn't have that pop to make you crave more. However, I really enjoy the chili. I load it up with Texas Pete hot sauce, order a grilled cheese sandwich with extra cheese and have at it! THAT is a good meal! Simple, not overly expensive or fussy but very good in my book. read more

This place is the pinnacle of what is wrong with the fast food industry today. The so called "fast-food" is honestly just a lie at this point. Waited 20 minutes for my food and on top of that half of the menu was not prepared so would have had to wait longer. This place is shit. We have been to a few different Firehouse Subs and this one is by far the worst. Same food, but the service is terrible. We went in there one time about an hour and a half before closing. I was trying to get some sweet tea to drink and the container was empty. I told the staff member at the counter, and her response was that it's too close to closing to make more and that I should "deal with it". This was after placing and picking up an online order that was $50+. I haven't been back since. read more

I love the subs and I have never had a problem at this previous location. So I was sorely disappointed today. Upon making my order as one of the subs I requested to have the lest amount sauce for the meatball sub. My SO doesn't like a lot of sauce nor does it taste good when it is soggy. I drove an hour to town for this. I reminded the cashier of my request and he told the girl making my sub. I stood to the side watching the sub being made. The girl making the sub was putting way to much sauce and told her that there was too much sauce on the bread. She yelled at me to something the tune of "I know!" I was immensely surprised that I was being treated like this. While the rest of my order was being made she was making snide remark's her coworkers and making sure I could not see her name on her shirt. After my order was done I asked to talk to the manager. I informed the manager (TY) of what took place and even apologize to the girl if I had come across wrong. The girl said, "so what? I don't care!" with all of the body language and rude tone of voice to go with it. The manager just stood there and let her talk to me like that without saying a word. My order was still messed up and my kids never even got the rice crispy treats for their kid combo. Almost $35 to be absolutely ridicule, disrespected, and the so-called manager who stood there. I have been to numerous firehouse sub locations and this one does not meet the standards of cleanliness that have seen at other location. The place is all around dirty. The windows look as though they have never been cleaned, the napkin holders look disgusting as they are covered in filth, and last but not least the bathroom was dirty and it looked like some one had vomited on the floor next to toilet, which had never been cleaned up. This used to be my go to restaurant for a very long time. It was my favorite restaurant (fast food and regular dine in.) I moved to the area of this restaurant. My girlfriend and I continued to eat here without a problem. One day we ordered on the app, and when we got to the restaurant they said we didn't have an order... I showed the email and they said it wasn't there... they took my order and then took my phone number for the rewards to get my points. They said I could not use my points and would have to call customer service. Ok so I asked if I could just get my meal... they said no... as if I were using my rewards to steal government information. The cashier and manager just kind of stared at me until I left... I called customer service 4 times and they did nothing... way to show you care about your customers. As a relative of a Fire Fighter I will just donate on my own and go to subway where it is cheaper and not get kicked out. read more

My fiance and I visited on Thursday March 14th. We went to see the Manager about a order that wasnt right the last time we visited. We were told the manager wasnt there (come to find out she was standing right there). I proceeded to explain this wasnt the first time our order was not made correctly. During the conversation I was having with the young lady at the register another worker name Josh interrupted and proceeded to call me rude. Now i wasnt yelling or speaking loudly or nothing just talking to the young lady in a professional way. I said 'excuse me I wasnt even talking to you'. He said. 'I dont care you are rude'. I said this is how you handle your customers? I ask for Manager name and at first cancel my order but change my mind becuse we were also ordering for our kids. Josh still talking said 'I not making there subs. Then I said please dont!. This place has poor Management and very bad customer service. The tone of the workers is like they didnt want to be there. My fiance call back later to speak to the Manger and the Manager said I was standing right there and heard e erything. (WOW).. She said she was off the clock in didnt want to say anyyhing. The food is decent, but the service is absolutely terrible. They are sooo slow. Expect to be there for at least an hour even if they are empty. Even at prime time every single worker moves like a snail on a Sunday drive without a care in the world. They also seem to have no management and no systems in place.
