My husband and I ordered online for the first time. This was also the first time going to this location. We walked in and waited for someone to greet us. My husband then said that we had an online order. They responded with the online orders are kept right here. We looked, and we saw a paper bag just sitting on the counter with our receipt. So we uncomfortably take the bag, ask if we are good to go, and they nodded. So we got back into the car and I noticed that our four cookies weren't in the bag. So I go back in and ask if we could have our cookies and the associate says everything you need is right there. They kept a place for cookies, chips and drinks just sitting there. So I grabbed my four cookies and left. The customer service was horrid. The food was good. But my husband and I don't feel comfortable going back to such a location as they made us feel so ignorant. Very friendly service here. Our sandwiches were really good as well. Restaurant was very clean and inviting. I prefer cold sandwiches, so I was happy to learn that you can order anything cold. Ate here while visiting my sister, so I'll recommend it to her, and probably visit again when I'm in town. Great for kids; they have free little plastic firefighter hats for them to wear. My son loves this place. They are way better than Subway. Their salads have changed recently and they are really good. I do wish they had more of a selection of salad dressings. In short: Meh. Just meh. On a Sunday with only 3 people in the place it took about 20 minutes. I would not come here if I was in a hurry. Staff was blank-eyed teen boys so I didn't expect much in the way of service. I ordered the Hero - the meat had good flavor, and there was a good amount of it. In the center. As you get to each end it tapers down the just bread. The cheese had zero flavor. The meat seems like it's been steamed, and the bread got soggy as I was finishing. They got my request for no mayo right, but shorted me the included pickle. My girl ordered the Hook & Ladder Light - she received the regular version but thought it was good. I'll probably try it again, hopefully it's better since choices are limited out here. read more

Food quality is great, however, the sandwich preparation time is extremely slow. I ordered at 6:13, with only one group of four ahead of me, and didn't receive my order until 6:31. I ordered one sub .. waiting 18 for a sub is quite ridiculous, especially since I picked up Panda Express for my family and it was sitting in my car. Welp, Firehouse is two for two now on getting our order wrong and horrible customer service. I ordered online this time since my service was horrible last time and figured they wouldn't be able to get my order wrong since I am completing my order myself. Online it said my order would be available at 6:41pm... I got there at 6:45pm. The girl at the registered read back my order and only said no onions. I confirmed with her that there is also no ranch. She said the ticket said to add ranch and doesn't have the word 'no'... my receipt says otherwise.... I had to wait 19 minutes at the store for them to make my food... what was the point of ordering it online?? I felt bad as I brought my dog and she had to wait in the car.. I understand 19 minutes isn't long for some but it was for me as I am 9 months pregnant and my dog get anxiety. They should not give a time if they cannot promise it. Then when they gave me my order I noticed two boxes... I told them I only ordered one sandwich and the girl questioned me and I showed her my receipt. They took one sandwich out and said there I go... I repeated no ranch, right? They opened both sandwiches and gave me one with no ranch. When I got home and opened the box, my sandwich had onions which I ordered without. Horrible service both times and they messed up my order both times. I do not recommend this location!!! read more

We go here every Thursday night after softball and baseball practice. It's the best place in the area, I think. I have actually said "I could eat here 3 nights a week". But this last time we were there two things happened that made me question whether or not we will there this Thursday. First, there was girl wiping things down. That's great, but she used the same "rag" to wipe the soda machine, the counter, the trashes and the tables. Ummm, why would you clean the trash lid with the same cloth you are going to wipe off the table with? GROSS. this was while we were waiting for our sandwiches (I hope she changed her gloves). After eating for a little bit, my husband grabbed the other half of our daughters sandwich and three bites in, he pulled a long dark hair out of his teeth and mouth. GAGGING!!! I have long hair and so does my daughter, but there is no way it was ours, especially three manly bites into the sandwich. (there was a girl behind the counter with a long, dark ponytail) Kinda grossed out for now. Love the subs, just not happy with the extra yuck they gave us this last visit. Food is awesome, every sandwich I have had has kept me coming back. The decor is kind of cheesey but the service and staff have always been above par. On Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014 I ordered a beef and cheese on wheat. Worst thing I have ever eaten. First bite had a big hunk of grizzle in it. Very expensive. Ordered a medium, since was never here before, at $8.67 I thought it would be enough. The sandwich was rather small for the price. They even had enough nerve to ask if I wanted to donate my change and even it up to $9.00. Like a dummy I said yes. We're new to the area and decided to stop in and grab some subs on a recent Saturday afternoon. The store was actually pretty empty but it was a bit before 12pm. They have a lot of seating/tables and everything seemed very clean. While we looked over the menu a gentleman working behind the counter asked if this was our first time visiting a Firehouse subs, which it was. My go to sub is the club sub. I find the flavors to be very good. I have them toast the bread twice and it gives it a nice crunch on the outside. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is due to the service. I like to order online and then go to the store to pick it up. On 3 occasions now they have not started the order until I show up and ask for it. The 2nd time this happened I questioned them and they told me it is better to call in the order and avoid using the online system. It doesn't seem like good business to not be able to manage the online ordering system. Tonight it happened again, they did not start the order until I arrived and indicated I had an internet order. This prompted them to check their printer and grab the order. If they could somehow implement a system to manage online orders I would be happy to change to 4 stars. read more

I have to admit, when it comes to sub sandwiches, I'm usually a Jimmy John's girl, and never thought about Firehouse. Finally one night, after a long day, I drove past this Firehouse and since I was looking to try something for dinner that I hadn't tried before, I stopped in for dinner. The store was clean and the staff was super friendly! I ordered the Smoked Turkey Breast, and my son, who normally is very picky and won't eat sandwiches, ordered the Kids Meatball Sub combo. My son, whose 6, loved the Firemen hat he got with his combo and the food was prepared fast and hot. We decided to go home to eat, from the first bite, I was hooked! I love hot subs (once thing Jimmy John doesn't have, and I'm so tired of Subway) an this one did not disappoint. My son absolutely loved the meatballs and wished there was more. Better than subway and jimmy johns. It's not exactly a fresh from the deli mom and pop sandwich shop, but it fills the void, tastier than Quiznos and Burger King, and very friendly staff. I've eaten at the san tan valley store and the Mesa one on power. Nothing but great things to say about the staff. The Mesa store handles large crowds very well during the lunch rush. The San Tan Valley store is quiet and clean and the food is good. All in all very good for what it is. Pricey food, but you get what ya pay for minus making a sub yourself. We called and they said bring it back and they would do another order. So we just said forget it, I am not driving back there wait again and drive home.... I have no objection to the food. The food here is always awesome. The Millenials on staff is another thing. My son was ordering a sandwich because he was back from USD on break and wanted to try it. We gave him such rave reviews. His brother requested a sandwich also. I was contemplating whether to give him one or not because his room was strewn with soda cans, sandwich wrappers and XBOX games. Look, I don't care if you are #1 in AZ in Halo, get out of the house once in awhile. But I digress. At any rate, the one son who goes to USD was not finished ordering and I went to the counter. I stated, in front of the cashier that he should go ahead and get his brother a sandwich too. The cashier said, "Ok, so you have 1 turkey..."
