Friendly service (although the teenager I had serve me last was pretty clueless.. kept making mistakes.. the manager was gracious, however, and fixed everything with a smile). The prices are well above a Subway or Quiznos but so is the quality. Very busy around lunch, so be prepared to wait. 10-15 minutes is the norm via my experience. New place to love. Ordered delivery once and got to-go orders twice. Boyfriend loves the NY steamer and I like the Engineer. Both times we've come in the owner has taken our order and cashed us out. He's super nice, always makes small talk and recommendations which I appreciate. He seems to really love his business. I gave this place 3 stars as it's OK. 4 stars would make me a fan and to be a fan, this is a place that I would have to think about and pick over several other similar types of foods. Unfortunately, as decent as the food was, this isn't a place that pops into mine or my kids minds when we're thinking of something quick to eat (like they do with Chipotle just next door. The service was nice, if not annoying, but I can't push them for being excited to introduce their business. We ordered about 4 subs with drinks. My daughter ordered a tuna sub and they had just run out of tuna. The owner/manager was there and he showed her how much tuna was left and gave her the choice if she still wanted to move forward. She decided that it was enough and ordered anyway. He didn't give a discount, but wisely (with a new business) gave her a coupon to come back for a free sub. The other subs tasted fine. But just fine. None of them blew us away. Definitely better than a Subway (sorry Jared), but nothing greater than Jersey Mikes or Togos. The big winner here is their soda machine. We have actually gone to Chipotle for a burrito and picked up a soda here because they have the new Coke machine that allow s you to invent over 100 flavors. There are only 2 of these machines in Simi Valley. The ability to have Diet Fanta Grape soda is almost enough for me to grant a 4th star, but I have to remember that this is a "sub" place not a soda shop. read more

I've only eaten here once so far, but thought they made a pretty good sandwich. Food tasted fresh and was put together well. More expensive than Subway, but you get a better sandwich. There's a decent amount of seating, but it's very cafeteria-like in that it's just a bunch of tables and chairs squeezed into a small location. I don't knock them down for that, just realize it's an "eat and go" type place, and not an environment that caters to sitting around and socializing. read more

Wife and I had a rare lunch together!! Woo Hoo!!! After some Lowes time we headed to Firehouse Subs for lunch. I had the MyHero sandwich and she had the chicken and salami Italian salad. Both were awesome. Their sweet tea with some lemonade mixed in made the meal. Will surely be back again and again... Added a 5th star for the memorial for fallen firefighter Ryan Osler. Really cute! They have a very friendly group of staff members, a homey feel to the environment (probably from a all the warm welcomes), as well as soft, melt-in-your-mouth sandwiches. I don't exaggerate! They steam the meat and cheese, so the bread doesn't get toasted and hard, and the veggies are still nice and crisp. They keep all of their options up on a nice spinny-menu near the cash register, so you know exactly what ingredients are available, and they have menus everywhere, which makes picking our what you want go a little faster. In case the sandwich needs a little flavor kick, they have an awesome 50-sauce display for your condiment contentment. Came here Saturday for their grand opening and was their first customer! The staff was friendly and the sandwiches where excellent and the service was very fast as well. Got the New York Steamer and my wife got the Engineer which were both very tasty. Their soda machine is awesome, it has some 100 plus different flavor combinations. Best place in the valley for a sandwich! This was my second visit in the last 2 weeks the first sandwich I had was great! Even though my girlfriend sandwich was made wrong we decided to try it again. This time her sandwich was perfect and she love it and mine was a disaster. None of the meat or cheese was even on the bread, and I asked for no tomato they added anyway along with a random cucumber which I didn't really mind it was just irritating but the cucumber was ok. Subway can go suck it! Seriously though, this place has killed Subway for me, and normally I hate it when sandwich meat is heated! The meats are delicious and the atmosphere in the store is great. The menu was a little hard to read but they recently changed it and now it's much better. My only real complaint is that the way you get your food is quite strange. First you, obviously, order your food and then you get your drink and sit down. The thing is that they announce when the food is ready to their employees to then try and find the person who ordered it. I can't help but feel that it would be much more efficient to just take the customer's name and call it out, or to give the customer a number to put on the table. All in all, I'm coming here from now on to get a sandwich. Subway is dead to me now. read more

I first ate at a Firehouse Subs somewhere on the East Coast. I never imagined they would show up out here, but I was elated when I saw their sign go up by the Simi Mall. This blows away Subway, Quiznos, and Jersey Mike's. Not only do they have great sandwiches but great service, too. For example, the last time I was there the gentleman who brings you your sandwiches noticed that I glanced outside for a seat before finding one inside. He came up to me after I sat down and asked if I would like a seat outside, and when I responded that I had wanted one, but they were all taken, he promptly went outside and kindly asked the people from Chipotle to move back to their restaurant. This was completely unnecessary, but the attention to the customer's desires in this case was something I've never experienced before, and I was floored. The only downside is the time it takes to get food during a lunch rush. Be sure to place an order online if it's between noon and 1pm. read more

I have eaten here numerous times since they have opened. My food has never come out wrong. The service is always excellent even when the line is out the door. The staff is helpful both over the phone when placing an order and at the counter. The owners are so nice and helpful. I have only had one item I didn't care for at this place, and that is the salad. I'll stick to subs at this place. After all it is a SUB place. The Italian is my all time favorite. It is hard for me to stray away from this delicious mixture of flavors. I have also had the Hook and Ladder and fell in love with that one too. The Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket is amazing as well. I love Sweet Baby Ray's, so how could I go wrong? I am still trying new ones occasionally and I'm sure I won't be disappointed with those either. I normally get the combo with chips and a drink. I wish they had a potato salad, or even a coleslaw instead of just chips. This would make the place even better. I'll stick to my salt and vinegar kettle chips and an iced tea for now. The meat was fresh, thinly sliced, but plentiful. With mayo, brown mustard & cheese, it was a very well constructed sub. My children enjoyed the grilled cheese meal . Firehouse Subs. Meh. It didn't impress me. The portions were small and the prices were not. I can get twice the sandwich for half the price at Subway. Can't say it stood out as a very good sandwich either. The meat fell apart, and not in a good way. By "fell apart", I mean "crumbled". It had no "tooth", like it had been in a slow cooker for WAY TOO LONG. Someone devoid of their dentures would have no problem masticating this product. So I guess, in retrospect, I should be thankful there was not very much of this "meat" on my, what looked to be store bought and anemically thin, toasted french roll. The two gallons of sauce dripping out of every crevice of the sandwich did well to overpower what ever other flavors might have survived the mysterious process that ultimately *exuded* this thing out onto a plate. I haven't been to this location in quite some time. I feel like the service and food quality has gone downhill since my last visit. I placed an online order and my food was not ready when I arrived to pick it up. I waited and it took longer than expected. It wasn't too busy at the time but the clerks preparing the food were slow. When I got my food I noticed globs of marinara sauce all over the to-go bag. I asked a clerk if they had any napkins because I didn't see any around me. Her response was curt: "It's already in the bag" and she walked away. I tried to get her attention again but she ignored me. I didn't want to stain my car or clothes and just wanted to wipe it off. My meatball sub was cold. The center of the meatballs were cold. Two of them had ice in the center. The chili I ordered was upside down in the bag. Luckily it didn't leak or spill out.
