I have been to this establishment a handful of times and every time I wonder why I came back. Our most recent visit was the worst yet. We show up around 7pm to a nearly empty restaurant (both inside and out) and are told by the hostess that it would be a 20-25 minute wait for a table. Immediate confusion sets in but no one questions her, so we take a seat outside around the fire pit. While we wait, we decide to head over to the bar to grab some drinks. There were roughly 3-4 people at the bar (not busy at all) and the bartender walks by us several times before she even acknowledges us. Once she does, she says to us "I"ll be with you in 2 seconds". Followed by 5 minutes later she decides to take the couples order next to us that showed up after we were already at the bar waiting. She finally takes our orders after she helps those folks. She had to leave the bar to fill our drinks, which was very confusing. She only came back with 2 of the 3 drinks ordered and said "I will have to go see where I can find the Busch Light". Once again, we are very confused. You are standing behind a bar, why is it not stocked appropriately? We are annoyed at this point and ready to leave, so I just asked for her to give me a Bud Light bottle so that we can be done with this interaction. Overall we stood there for about 15+ minutes before we were served, which was entirely too long especially for how empty the bar was. Once we sit down by the fire pit, we are greeted by what looked like a manager. She was friendly and she took us to our table. We had a nice male server and he took care of us quickly. Two of us ordered the bacon burger (mediocre), the french dip sandwich (terrible), and BBQ (he said it was good, but that's questionable). Overall, mediocre food and terrible service. This place has so much potential but they just can't seem to figure it out. I have no plans to come back to this business. We much rather go to cheers where the food is always great and the service is impeccable. read more

We went to fire pit for the first time and were truly disappointed. The service was slow even tho they weren't busy. Food was decent, but when we got our bill, we were over charged by TEN dollars. We definitely won't be going back. A shame because the place itself is very nice. The experience did not however live up to what we were expecting. My husband ordered 4 different beers, they were out of every one. Seemed as though ever step took way too long. Should have seen that coming after waiting over 5 minutes to be greeted. No one seemed to care about speedy service, employees moved around the dining room at a casual stroll. Never did anyone ever appear to want to get us served in any sort of expedited manner. We tried this place a 2nd time, very disappointing. We had bad drinks, bad food, bad service and the manager was horrible. We will never go back. We tried it when they 1st opened and it wasn't very good then, we waited, had high hopes that there had been improvement but the 2nd time was worse. With a manager like the one that was there tonight, this place will be closed in 6 months. They have a small menu so there is no excuse for any food to come out wrong, very sad presentation. I have been to the Firepit Grille about 3 times now. I have really only ever had appetizers and drinks. All of the appetizers so far were great! They do an appetizer happy hour where they are half off! Cant beat that after work! I have also had their pizza. My boss brought it in for one of our potlucks and it was really good! I definitely recommend giving this place a chance. If you have been here before and had a poor experience, I recommend trying again. With all new restaurants there is a beginning phase where things need to be worked out. As someone who has served and been a bartender for years....not everything is perfect in the beginning. Just remember that everything you have ever done hasn't always been right and perfect the first time you did it. read more

Great heavy smoked, nicely BBQ'ed ribs and brisket! And enough to fill you up. These are larrupin' good vittles.

We were disappointed with the ribs- which is a mainstay of this menu. We asked about the "fall of the bone" detail, and were assured that they were of this delicious bbq ribs. When they arrived, we had to "work" to eat the meat- they were chewey and when we spoke to our waitress she apologized but assured us that the "were" typically the fall off the bone type. She did ask if we wanted to switch something out...but we decided to keep plugging away at them. (Should we have?) I had the bbq taco's and they were very good and a great combo of shredded bbq, slaw, pickled onions and grilled pineapple with a nice helping of nacho chips and quac. Came in for an early-ish lunch with some friends and our kids and the service was awesome. Our kids had a little extra energy but no one seemed to mind at all, and the host and waitress were super sweet and interactive with the kids. The food was great. We had one slight problem with one of the dishes but we alerted our waitress and she fixed it right away without hesitation. Love the atmosphere! Will definitely be returning! read more

Mixed review A month ago (July 17th) we had a business meeting here and had a wonderful experience! The bartender (Amillio sp?) was unbelievable in his knowledge and expertise in "mixology". He also really seemed to know his beer! Three of us had mixed drinks that were truly awesome! (2 of the bartender's own design!) and 1 of us asked for a certain type of beer that the bartender not only knew all about, but had on hand! And the food was great, too! From the killer pretzels and onion appetizers (both recommended by our server/bartender) to the entre, everything was well made and exceeded our expectations! Even the décor and layout were very nice. Then last week... We brought 2 more people with us who were looking forward to trying the creations at the bar. But the bartender/server wasn't there. We were told it was permanent, not just a day off. And though they were nice enough, no one seemed to know much of anything about exotic mixed drinks or beers. It was actually kind of embarrassing after we had raved to our colleagues on how great this place was. What we got was okay. Nothing at all wrong with how anything was made, but there wasn't anything awesome to report. We soon moved out to the patio area, switched to coffee and had a pretty decent meal brought to us by a very nice server who was almost too busy (not really her fault) to keep our coffee cups filled. I've been to the fire pit grill twice. The restaurant was clean with plenty of flat screen televisions throughout. The outdoor patio is an added attraction and i am looking forward to this spring to enjoy it. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and efficient. The food was delicious and the servings are large. I recommend the chicken chunks and spicy shrimp. I plan to be a frequent customer of this establishment. Had a great meal here at lunchtime. Last week. I had the Cobb salad and it was very fresh and good. Nice size and filling too. Love the atmosphere. Can't wait till next football season to check out a game and have some beers. The fire pit on the patio is awesome too. The service was very good on my visit. This place is so close to our house and with how much we eat out we want to love it. We've been here multiple time and the service is consistently bad which is unfortunate because this place may have the best veggie burger I've ever had. My husband loved their chicken chunks (not sure of the name) and another person in our group really liked the chicken kabob (even through the veggies were not cooked so the onion was raw). The service is bad every single time (two bar tenders have told me that they only give them their credit card tips once a month and there isn't any type of print out to verify how much they are getting. If true, that might help explain the high turn over and poor service. We only tip in cash now.). The service- it took five minutes to get seated when it wasn't busy (this is typical). Our waitress couldn't seem to get drinks to our table (I ordered wine 10 minutes before my food came out and it was delivered after I was finished which was the typical delay in everyone's drink orders) and my husband's and my food came out over 10 minutes after the other three people in our group. The place seems to be a revolving door for a managers and one employee told me that they believe the owner wants to lose money for tax write offs. Biggest clustereff I've ever encountered at a restaurant. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars is because the food is good. We had a party of 8. When we got there the restaurant was nearly empty. The only things we got in a reasonable amount of time was waters and my daughter's dinner. My dad ordered a merlot and got a pink martini with a cherry in it. The waitress told us that was how they served merlots. My step mother got a beer in place of an advertised special mixed drink. Our food arrived one plate at a time long after we ordered. My brother finally got his food after we were all done. The waitress told us that the kitchen kept giving away our food. We had to ask multiple wait staff and a manager for our missing dressings, side dishes, drinks, breads, and meal. At the end of the meal our waitress asked us how to split our checks. Well, holy crap. We all got at least one thing from someone else's dinner. We had been there so long that we decided to just pay for it and go. My daughter was freaking out. My husband and I didn't even get a store copy to leave a tip and sign. They just ran and charged his card and we got a customer copy. A waiter from another table tried to enhance our experience by giving us 3 boxes of cold cornbread to go. We saw a manager once and she only asked us how the food was. I used to work in a restaurant. I understand that wait staff can get overwhelmed and restaurants can get busy. But this uber disaster was more then that. If they got their kitchen/manager/wait staff crap together I think it'd be a cool place. read more

Should have known to stop before ordering food! 6 people ordered food, after a decent wait, food "started" to come to table. Two orders showed up, 10 minutes later two more appeared. A full half hour later the last two showed up. I guess they only have two microwaves to cook the meals! Server was totally unapologetic, manager stopped by, but only said kitchen was backed up. So here's the reasoning behind the two stars...one star was for Alex, the bartender and the other star was for the building and the atmosphere itself. This was the second time here, the first was for lunch and they couldn't even get a salad correct and the second time was for dinner. For dinner we ordered a $25 steak ordered it medium rare with fries and mashed potatoes and we ordered the Buffalo chicken dip as an appetizer.... It all came out together, the appetizer did not come out first and there was nothing "Buffalo" about it, it was made with very cheap cheese and tasted horrible. The steak came out rare, extremely rare and the mash potatoes was mixed with instant. Only a restaurant that is teetering on the edge of going out of business serves instant mashed potatoes with the steak. The only thing decent was the lukewarm french fries and I don't even consider that decent. We felt sorry for Alex, the bartender, because all we heard him do all night was apologize to different patrons for their meals. The guy that sat us didn't seem to give a crap and the food runner that came out didn't either. I think the only thing keeping this place open is it's atmosphere. WON'T BE BACK!! read more

First off our server Karra was absolutely wonderful. She knew the menu and didn't object to one modification that my girl friends and I had! The manager Vinny stopped by and made sure we had a great experience. I had the chicken sandwich. I added a few things because on the menu it was a tad bare, but add-on's were not very expensive at all. We also had the buffalo chicken dip to start. My friends loved it but I wasn't too enthused. Typically buffalo chicken dip is very shredded chicken and mixed with cream cheese. Ours was like soup. Other than that no complaints about the food. We sat on the patio, big and spacious! It was not like one of those patios where you're shoulder to shoulder with the table next to you. Great selections of wines and even better options for food. I understand the separate area to smoke, but as a smoker, a patio in Ohio is like a safe haven. I feel like you should be able to smoke inside the patio since everyone is so spread apart. We decided on this place for a last minute Father's day brunch. First off we called that morning, and they were able to accommodate our reservation, which was very nice. We all ordered the buffet. Initially after my first trip to the salad bar, I was a bit disappointed. The "salad" was brown, consisted of only lettuce and I had to pick through it to find edible pieces. I really wanted salad. The potatoes were cold and dry. After a few minutes though, everything was replenished. The bacon was thick cut and baked, which was yummy. The dessert spread was pretty, although I only had a mini cheesecake bit. (good). There was lox, an omelet station, waffles, french toast, roast beef, chicken, and maybe pork? My husband reported there were three types of sausage links. Green beans left a lot to be desired, cold and wrinkled. The mac and cheese was creamy and had potential, but it was also luke warm and lacked seasoning. Extensive fruit display, that included raspberries, although pineapple was missed. Overall, for the price (16.99), it was a decent/above average spread and I would definitely return, as long as the food is fresh and replenished. Service was fine. read more

Very disappointed in this restaurant. Went there with a group of 12. Our server was rude and clearly did not want a large party. Food was burned but we didn't complain (that was our fault) we just wanted to get out. When our bills came with the 18% gratuity included we did not feel it was necessary to add to it, in fact it was more than he deserved. He had his armpits in my face several times passing food across my head instead of going around. My daughter and I split a rack of (burned) ribs and it took 3 requests to get a second plate but he had no problem announcing that there would be a charge for the 2nd vegetable. As soon as everyone had their food he wanted the bills out. When no one added to the 18% tip he came over and wanted to know if there was a problem - went right up to you and asked this. The 2 stars are only for the 2 dollar margaritas which are actually stronger and better than you might expect for the price. Took 10 minutes after sitting at the bar to finally get served. It was a Friday evening and only 2 bartenders, who only provides 2 bartenders on a Friday night with a 2 dollar margarita special? The bartenders were complaining clearly for the patrons to hear. Apparently they have a new tipping system where the bartenders/waitresses aren't getting any credit card tips for the whole month. We were seated right away because they weren't busy at all, it was very empty. Waited 12 minutes, which doesn't sound like a long time until your sitting there. at two separate times we could hear four different servers say its not my table and just walk away. No one ever took the time to say I'll find someone or I'll just take the table. They all just looked us and walked away. When I asked for a server I was ignored. This place doesn't deserve any stars. Service so so took awhile to get a second drink only cool thing was the fire pit.
