I think for the convenience factor it works. It has enough of a selection that you'll find what you need. Yes, prices are high but at least they have free wifi and a couch to sit on while you rest and get your barings. Disappointed that they had signs in their completely shut down eatery that said "closed for mud season" it's the beginning of August and very busy for the summer tourist season. We wanted to pick up some deli salads and sandwiches and were surprised that not a single part of the "eatery" was open, including the deli counter. We ended up buying some very overpriced groceries and making our own sandwiches. We were the only customers in the entire store... I wonder why that is? read more

Great prices on our first visit to this upscale grocery in Winter Park, CO! And did you notice I said "grocery store in Winter Park", hurray! There is a food court and coffee bar with dining seating and comfy leather couches next to a cozy fireplace! Comfy leather couches with 3 TV's!! I forgot to ask if they wake us if we fall asleep there after skiing---they are open until 9 pm. They have a souvenir section as well as a seasonal section (right now they have Winter items like sleds, shovels, etc.) Their meats are great quality, even had a whole beef tenderloin in the case today, some great seafood choices as well! My favorite is the salad bar where we can make a big salad without having to buy individual ingredients during our weekends up here!! They also had three ready made soups today with room for 5 total. Great new store for those of us loving to visit Winter Park!!!! It's very beautiful inside and on the outside (see attached photos during its construction this fall). Its high end architecture with huge sunlit windows, tall ceilings and remarkable lounge & dining area make it more than just a food store, but a place to enjoy and relax. Fresh Cranberry Walnut Bread in the bakery, versatile selection of healthy food products in all departments priced quite reasonably. Food Court has tasty Turkey/Potato/Veggies soup I never had in any other store. Fish of excellent quality. Very glad they don't carry alcohol (there's plenty of it elsewhere in town). Personnel is genuinely friendly, music and TVs aren't distracting and loud. Easy convenient plaza parking, plus underground parking well needed on heavy snow days! read more

If you are in Winter Park or passing thru it doesn't get any easier. Whole Foods-ish place with premium brands and decent prices albeit a bit pricey but it is a resort town so this is what it is. My family has has a place in Fraser, so we're up here a lot. We haven't been in to Fireside often but it so happened that my wife and I went in on two separate days- she went in one day and I went in on another day. Both days we were underwhelmed by the selection, and overwhelmed by the prices- but fine, that in an of itself wouldn't warrant a one star review. But we were both rung up by Tammie, an employee who was outright rude to both of us. I had headphones in, listening to a podcast (new mom! No time!) and she berated me for "ignoring her". Fireside Market definitely feels like a mountainy Whole Foods. Interesting, organic, healthful and downright hippy choices abound. All of your grocery needs are available here from quality produce, meats, dairy, dry goods, to personal items like shampoo/conditioner stuff to even house cleaning supplies. In addition to this, you can grab a cup of fresh brewed coffee, a scoop of ice cream or a full meal from the salad bar, pizza by the slice, grilled cheese station and even sushi. There's a very cozy area to sit and dine and/or relax. The convenience of all of this is wonderful after a tiring day of skiing, hiking, hunting, or whatever mountain pursuits might bring you to the area. The only downside is, Like Whole Foods, both the grocery and eatery items at Fireside are on the pricey side. read more

We are traveling and wanted to have some simple lunch. I read the reviews, so thought we'd give it a try. The review is really for the food at the food court, not the grocery store. The staff there was super friendly, that's about the only thing got my 2 stars. Everything we ordered from the food court is just terrible. The grilled cheese is way too salty. The Mexican food is salty and served somewhat cold. The pizza is hard to chew, and the chicken soup is also served luke warm even though they went extra mile to heat it up for us since it was not served at the counter. I felt terrible bring my family and their friends there to eat. I would not recommend this place for food! read more

Great food selection. I had read reviews that grocery selection wasn't awesome in Winter Park, so we shopped in Denver before we drove up. We really didn't need to- Fireside has all we needed. Disclaimer: this review is solely assessing the stir-fry. Honestly, I try to refrain from dragging small businesses online, but my experience at the Fireside Market and Eatery was rather disappointing. Usually I would describe a culinary experience such as this as aggressively mediocre, but unfortunately, that offers a far more glowing review than the reality of the stir-fry I consumed after a 12 mile hike. Ravenous, I arrived with 8 of my closest relatives, eager to relish in a hearty meal. I foolishly chose the stir-fry option. What I received instead was a poor excuse for stir-fry -- uncooked rice coated in an overly generous helping of sickly sweet KBBQ sauce, what appeared to be chicken giblets, and about 3 sweaty snap peas. Not great, to say the least. I will say this -- the bathrooms were really nice. Wood paneling and all. Nice atmosphere with several groups playing mahjong. Truly a shame that the food was so inedible. And by inedible, I mean made it through 3 bites and could not continue. read more

Way too much sauce and I paid an extra dollar to add avocado which turned out to be two chunks that appeared to be cooked along with the rest of it rather than added on top. A very nice grocery store. Nice selection of ready to cook items. The eatery portion is attractive. The workers are still learning the menu but that's understandable since it is brand new. My kids loved the ice cream sandwich bar (variety of cookies and brownies and ice cream) and the Stubborn brand soda fountain. The ice cream sandwiches could really be shared by at least two or more people. I was surprised that they have a full deli and bakery but don't offer made to order sandwiches. Very disappointing. The grocery store is ok. The "Whole Foods" type of grocery items are nice but it's certainly confusing to see Doritos on the same shelf. The prepared foods section is terrible to put it nicely. My husband had a burrito that was incredibly bland and I had a pasta salad that was bizarrely sweet and seemed to be old... It's such a shame to see a space with such lovely aesthetics and potential be such a let down. I think it can be turned around if the owners and managers make some significant changes to the prepared foods section. read more

This place had lots of potential but that didn't last long. Very clean and nice restrooms. Started with a fun experience of filling out of form to create a fun meal. I choose the stir fry, choosing the base, meat, vegetables and sauce of my choice. When the stir fry arrived, I was handed a soup looking meal, with hard rice floating in it. I can only assume it was made in a microwave, not a wok. We have historically enjoyed stopping at this market on our weekend trips to the Winter Park area. Unfortunately, on our last trip this last weekend someone tried to steal our bikes off of our rack. They were locked so they attempted to break the pole ruining the rack. The parking lot does not have cameras. We highly encourage your to add cameras to your lot.
