I went there today to have a flat tire repaired (there was a nail in it). I called first to see if they were busy or if I needed to make an appt. but they said to come right over and that it would only take 45 minutes. They were right! Everyone was nice and it couldn't have been easier. It only cost $20. They didn't try to sell me anything, either. So this time the technician told me that I needed a new tire and my tire could not be fixed. So I went to the goudy honda dealership and they fixed my tire that had the nail. (total $430) they call me back after few hours saying that i need to change my tire fluid(cause its dirty), spark plug(cause its not working well), air filter(cause its really dirty and it'll effect my health), and several more stuff that i can't even remember....totally coast is more than $1000... i was like "what?" this is a lot more then what they used to tell me, and i was wondering why is there still so many things to fix after they fixed a lot of stuff for me already in the past? and i told the guy dont change anything, but he kept insist that its really bad that i should change it fast, so i told him to print a copy of the recommendations, so i can talk to my dad about it.. so he print me a copy of all the recommendations that i need to change, and i bring my car and the recommendations to two other shops to see if i really need to change everything, one shop is own by my friend's friend, and they checked everything up for me and said everything is still working perfectly, tire fluid is pretty clean, air filter is not even that bad, and my car is only at 55000mi, usually people dont change their spark plugs or even check it until the millage hits 100,000.....wtf?! i barely pass half of the millage!!!! Since i was at a car shop already, i ask my friend to check on my alignment again cause its still not going straight.... guess what they told me, the reason why is not going straight is because my car is front wheel drive and they put the new tires on the back and replace the front with the newer old ones.... the guy said these are really really basic thing that a mechanic should know, and he cant explain why they made mistake like this, he said he'd be embarrassed if someone ever complain about it..... I don't know why they do that, but i'm just gonna assume that they were hoping i'll bring my car back and they can tell me its because there's something wrong with my tire related stuff so then they can rip me off again.. after this i started to some research, i realized oil change itself usually is around $30 something but they charge up to $50+ and the two tire change suppose to be $240 only, but it end up $320 because of some warranty charge (almost extra $100), they never ask if i want it or not, they just add it, so i thought its mandatory/ needed by law...etc so i never complain until someone told me that you only get it if you want it, tire warranty its not mandatory..........FML.i changed my tires there like..3 times.... and they also charge a lot on labor when some other shop don't charge as much or dont even charge it.. EX: cabin air filter is $29.99, they charge 20 for labor. rare shocks are $129 each (you can buy it for $40 at local store) they charge 80 for labor. fuel system cleaning is $44.99, they charge 55 for labor (i think its just spraying stuff into the engine when its running...) they probably think im a girl, i know nothing about cars other then how to drive it, so they just take advantage of it.... so...i'll just never go there again.. never ever!!!! and i will tell all my friends not to go there!!! I trusted them with my car cause i thought they were professional, but at the end they are just being cheap and try to do sneaky stuff... really disappointing and extremely mad!!! read more

Hi potentially disappointed customers: The poor reviews definitely reflect the attitude and efforts of the employees at this Main St Firestone. They will strongly urge you to replace unnecessary and expensive parts just so they can make extra profit. I brought in my 66,000-mileage C230 for brake and tires, and was told to get belts, injectors, and rotors replaced which amounted to $1000+. The rotors I can somehow see where they're coming from, it's a brake component, but no way rotors need to be replaced that quickly, I've had them replaced not too long ago. As for the alignment, they left my rear right camber set at -3 degrees, left side at factory -0.8. They claimed a camber kit was needed, but in fact I do have one! I've brought my same car in before without issue. They then told be they would readjust if they "had the tools to do it". Seriously? I know it requires a simple wrench, and an alignment shop without tools?! Not only that, they wouldn't show me the breakdown until I paid. Who does that?? Getting tires/alignment done here are usually okay. For anything else, be cautious and adamant when you come here so you don't get tricked into playing their game. read more

These guy don't deserve any stars! I took my car in for oil change, tire rotation and balance. When Joshua at the front desk said my car was done I asked if they had rotated my tires cause i had watched them pull my car in and never noticed them do anything with my car tires just oil change. He said yes they were done. So when I go outside to my car the guy that was working on it gave me my keys and I asked him also if he had rotated my tires and he said yes. I never got his name but I was late getting to my kids school so I just left but knew it was total bullshit cause my dirty rims looked like they had never been handled and my one rim that is peeling was in the same spot as it was before! So I went straight back after my kids school got out and asked to speak to the manager which was Carlos. Of course he was very apologetic and took my car straight in and rotated the tires himself. Meanwhile Joshua is still there and when my car was ready he lets me know with a big smile on his f$&ken face. Seriously?? I wanted to scratch his f$@&en eyes out. Just proof to all the women out there that this does happen! They try and take advantage and think I won't notice?! I was very disappointed because I have been coming to this firestone for years! This is a horrible tire shop. I don't like writing reviews but this tire shop is so dishonest it makes me want to write an review. I went in for a tire patch due to a nail puncture. Waited for 45 min and they still haven't told me anything. I went to them and ask when my car will be ready and they said the nail is too much by the edge so I have to buy new tire. I didn't believe them because I have brand new tires so I went to Grand Prix in Monterey park. They patched my tire showed me the nail and patch it for free. When I asked them the location of the nail they pointed the center. Came to Firestone twice and both time they told me to change my tire. Firestone is a bunch if crooks. I went here before home because I needed my brakes and oil change so before hand I called and requested a quote and they said roughly 150 maybe a little more and so I said okay, I'll come in and he said for a brake inspection it is free. They lied .. they charged me about 70 bucks for an oil change , and then they told me to apply for a credit card , they took my car apart and they said it would be over 800-900 dollars to change my oil , brakes they said filters needed to be changed (when it's done on my own) they also said I'm due for an alignment .. I was so shocked at that price they also didn't change the oil filter at the cost they charged me they gave me so much pressure to get the car done and said you can put it on the credit card and I would have 6 months to pay it off and after I advised this is too much of a cost for me. But they insisted I just requested the oil change and I went to another person for a second opinion and they said this place stripped all my bolts on the car and it was so hard to look at the car . They charge you for the service and when you decline because their prices are unreasonable they will mess up your car. Upon discussing with other people I will be reporting them to alhambra chamber of commerce and to the better business bureau. I was able to find a place who was able to address the quoted detail summary that was given to me and the parts itself was way less than the receipt showed it was under $200 and they told me never to go back here because they damaged my car . As a girl I wouldn't know what's done to the car because I trust the judgement of the company rendering the services. As a consumer I'm not suppose to get ripped off. I may not drive a super nice car but it's still my car. Update : got a call from frank and was able to address my problem and he understood my complaint and resolved it with me . read more

I called to make an appointment for alignment, the guy that answered the phone said no appointment needed and i can stop by anytime. I told him I will be there in 30 mins. Thinking it will not take more than 30 mins to do it. Got there and then same guy (his name is Ben) i think said it will take about 1-2 hrs! WTF . So i had no choice and sat and waited in the lobby area. 2 hrs passed, i went and check about the status and then they told me they are just working on my car and that it will take another 45 mins. Are you freaking serious? Do not tell your customers that they can come in anytime and it will be done quickly if in reality you guys are short in staffs. Service gone from bad to worse! I am writing a review to help others from being taken advantage of. I have the lifetime alignment package and every single time I've had an alignment done here, they tell me I urgently need something repaired, like rotors, or other parts of my wheel area. I never get repairs done there because my step-dad is a mechanic and does any major work on my car at cost. Every single time I've taken my car to my step-dad, he's said that the recommendations from Firestone were unnecessary. I also encountered a problem with Ben, he is one of the managers and was very rude to me. I switched to another store for my alignments and they never tell me I have anything wrong with my car. I've been to this particular Firestone several times (I guess some people never learn) and every time there's a problem with their service. No not their customer service, but the actual services to be done on your vehicle that you pay your hard earned money for them to do. The first time I went there was to purchase lifetime alignment for my first car, and also have my wheels balanced because they were causing my steering wheel to shake at freeway speeds. Sounds easy enough, right? Not for the monkeys working there! After 4 hours of waiting, all they did was the alignment, which they didn't even complete correctly. They completely skipped adjusting my camber, which was obviously way off the factory spec and it even shows so in the paperwork they gave to me. What's even worse is that they did not balance my wheels at all. I had to go back a second time, point out that they did not adjust my camber nor balance my wheels for them to redo it. What's the point of a work order if they don't even read it? Then recently I went back for my second car (I told you some people never learn), and again bought the lifetime alignment. And yet again, they fail to adjust the camber. For some odd reason, their computer does not have manufacturer's specified camber values. I found out that if the computer does not give them a value, they will not adjust my camber at all, even though it's at negative 3 degrees and any car nut would be able to tell you that is way out of spec! So just because their computer some how does not have this information for my car (which is a Mazda Miata, not some kind of exotic car), they will not properly fix my alignment. Why is it that the customer suffers the consequences for a shop's lack of information? While arguing with the employee that was helping me, two other technicians standing closeby (who were playing with their cellphones and NOT DOING THEIR JOBS) chimed in saying that it's not possible to adjust the camber on a Miata. Serious? Are they trying to play me for a fool? Unluckily for them, I do know my facts about cars. I will go back again tomorrow with my Miata service manual and teach them how to properly alignment a vehicle. All in all. It's best to avoid this particular Firestone. If you must visit a Firestone, the employees at the one in Pasadena on Colorado are much more cooperative. ***Update 1/2/2011: Welps I forgot to update my progress after I went back. Since this time they know I mean serious business, they informed me of problems they have with the car when it arises. Well it turns out the factory camber bolts do not allow for enough adjustment to adjust my camber back within factory specs. So many hours wasted and nothing gained on my part. Oh well, hopefully this experience will teach them to not cheat customers. ***Update 7/26/2011: Went back again for a lifetime alignment because it turned out both eccentric bolts on the rear driver's side were messed up and didn't allow proper adjustment. Replaced both bolts myself, adjusted the camber, and went back to Firestone for them to fix the toe (since that's like impossible for me to eye it). Rather than the previous hellaflush camber angle of -4 degrees, the new camber bolts allowed adjustment down to -2.9 degrees, not too shabby. However I just noticed tonight that my steering wheel is now crooked when driving straight, even though the car does not pull either direction when I let go of the wheel. Ugh there's always something wrong after I bring my car to this particular Firestone. read more

Extremely over priced!!! My cars coolant was leaking...turns out the thermostat needed to be replaced. To just check it out cost over $100 (forget exactly). To replace it cost over $400!!!! As it turns out to replace a thermostat is an $80 job at most places I asked, not $400!!! Two days later car completely stops working because of a short (which is electrical). Don't think Firestone is at fault for the short but it sure makes me wonder... Also shouldn't they have seen that when the checked the car??? IDK Well I am giving two stars because even though it is 4xs overpriced, the job was done correctly and my thermostat is fixed. read more

I don't know much about tires, but whenever I have flat tires or need to change tires, I always come here because I bought the lifetime alignment. The guys here are always courteous and willing to help. They even fixed my windshield wiper. I was told by friends to get tires changed at other shops because of discount coupons, but I ended up finding out that this shop has the best price and discount of all, without a coupon. I woke up one morning, and my tire was flat. I went to Yelp and found this place has a pretty good review and opens at 7AM. So, I went there to get it fixed before I head down to work. The guy came 10 minutes late. I was a bit annoyed. But he was actually pretty helpful and friendly. They got my tire fixed in 30 minutes. So I was only 1 hour late for work. DO NOT GO HERE!!! I found a single nail on one of my tires. after they took a look at it, it turned out 2 more HUGE nails on sides of my tire , so now i got total of 3 nails! thought was strange how Me & my brother could even missed seeing those bold nails on the similar area of the same tire!? i ended up changing both front tires- At the time i went with it cuz i needed to get it done because i cant drive with 3 nails sticking into my tire..plus I was too scared to drive out the lot with those huge nails poking into my tire and blew out on the midddle of the road. Then 2 yrs later i got a new car but older model, driven only for less than a year. I got a nail on my tire, took to this place. Again, they told me i needed to get a brand new tire and cant be repaired ($25), and how all of my tires are in urgent need of replacing. They didnt even stop there, they started to write up all other problems with my (new) car!! So i took it to another place ( American Tires on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena) those guys took care of it ASAP with NO COST! $0 because they are able to repair the tire, and told me since the nail was at a spot they can repair , so didnt need to be replaced. Plus inform me that all my other tires are in good shape, and NOTHING'S WRONG WITH MY CAR! ( unlike what Firestone guys were scaring me with) If i would of gone with Firestone in alhambra, the estimate cost they wrote was over $1,500 for 4 new tires ( which i didnt need) & engine problems ( which i didn't have)! They should be closed down ASAP!!!! read more

They must have changed management and staff here in the past year. Things have been so much better these last few visits than in the past. I've been here for a few oil changes and for a nail in my tire. They got it done fairly quickly and didn't overcharge, nor did they pressure me to fix a plethora of things I don't need. I told them I needed the car back in time for work, and they got it done on time with no problems. That being said, at the end of the day this is still a tire place. I'll continue to bring my car to an independent mechanic for engine repairs, but I'm happy to come here for oil changes and tires. Costco was a bit cheaper, but not by much. DO NOT GO HERE. I brought my 05 Mazada 6 for a brake qoute. Told me that my brakes were grinding metal on metal and couldn't release my car because there were virtually "no brakes." I would have to pay $920 to fix the front 2 brakes. I had to call AAA to tow my car home. Firestone puts a truck to block my car form leaving the store and the AAA guy and I had to wait 20 min until they move the truck and the person threatened the AAA guy saying that my car was a hazard and it was dangerous. the AAA guy just ignored him and helped tow my car. The AAA guy told me he's towed many cars for the same "problem" and told me there was nothing wrong with my car and it would only cost under $200 to fix all 4 brakes if I had to. AVOID AT ALL COST. Frank and Ben are nothing but nice, super friendly and helpful, and most importantly, honest. Even though I'm not the best with cars these guys always are here to help. Most mechanics have the stereotype of "screwing you over" but these guys will be honest with me when it comes to something I need, or don't need. Came into today for an alignment some worker went to go look at my car and saw that I had coilovers on my car. As soon as he saw my car he went inside to ask us if we had coilovers and after that he started acting super weird. His name was Brandon I believe anyway he went inside to ask us went back outside and then went back inside to just snoop on his manager that was helping us I guess and then they both walked outside to look at my car. Eventually the both came back inside to tell me that they couldn't do an alignment on my car because of modified suspensión and how supposedly it's a law now and how alignments can't be done on cars with modified suspensions according to their manager. Eventually I left called another store they told me they could do it & I also did my research online and there is NO such law. If they didn't wanna work on my car they could've just easily told me that. Lazy people I don't understand why they're in a car career if they aren't willing to work on it. read more

Firestone is Awesome!!! They saved my day!!! I blew my run flat tire on a pothole on the freeway. Only the BMW dealer had my tire in stock, but they wanted to put me at the end of the day which was 5 hrs later. I called Firestone to see if I bought the tire at BMW if they could put it on? They said YES!! I brought it here and even though they are very busy today. They got my car on the rack quickly and are changing my tire!! I'm an hour and a half from home, and still an hour from where I was going, so they definitely saved the day!!! read more

I pulled up to your driveway at 5:15 pm without an appointment due to a horrific grinding noise from the break. You did the free inspection and ordered the parts for me within 30 minutes. You waited for the parts to arrive and stayed late working until 8:15 pm to replace all four rotors, brake pads, and most importantly, trying patiently, repeatedly and successfully reset the code of the proprietary electrical break system of my LR SUV. Adam, you explained and updated me with every situation throughout the three hours. You are absolutely right about having full confidence in the Master Technician. Because of your teamwork, I was able to drive myself home safely with a brand new brake system tonight; no need to call for AAA or Uber! I had to get an oil change for my car and was in the area so I thought I would stop by and see if they could fit me in on a Saturday morning. The store was clean, and the guy up front said good morning right when I entered. I asked him that I just needed an oil change, and he said he'd be able to get it done right away. About 20 minutes later, as I was waiting (they have free coffee and cable TV), he let me know they were finishing up, but wanted to show me the nail that was in my tire. They did a quick patch up and let me know that I wouldn't be charged. They also let me know that my tires were getting pretty thin and to be extra careful in the rain. He didn't try to sell me other services or products, other than the necessities. I knew that my tires were almost done, so that was nothing new. He explained to me that there were recommendations, but in his opinion, they were not absolute necessary, which in all honesty, is a breath of fresh air. All in all, 5 stars for great customer service, honest employees, and quick service. I now bring all my vehicles to get work done here as I know that I won't be bamboozled into buying something that I don't need. Most people will remember to leave reviews when they've had poor service or a bad experience but I think this place isn't getting the credit it deserves. I've been a regular here since I live in Alhambra and unfortunately have a tendency to drive over nails and other construction debris :((( But I also have lifetime rotation with Firestone and will bring it in every so often for that. Every time has been a good experience, the staff has been diligent about calling me when my car is in the shop, they've been repairing my tires very quickly, and they've been nothing but nice. I even showed up on a super sweltering afternoon when they were swamped and they were willing to squeeze me in even though I saw all the poor guys drenched in sweat, working away. The most recent time I brought my car in, I came in early right after they opened and they were done by the time I finished my breakfast. read more

I brought my vehicle to this place to have the AC repaired. After they did the work the car started making a LOUD squealing noise every time I used the AC. It NEVER made this noise before I had them repair it. I brought the car back about a week later so they could fix the noise and after I waited around for 5 hours they told me they couldn't reproduce it. I find this hard to believe because it makes the noise EVERY time I use the AC. Since this car gets used every day it was difficult to schedule time to bring it back again, just to waste several hours and be told to come back. So I lived with the loud, embarrassing, noise for almost a year, hoping it would go away after time. It never did. When I finally brought it back again they told me the noise was caused by something unrelated to their original repair - which is a complete lie. So they want to charge me $800 to fix a problem they created. In my opinion, these people are liars and cheats, and obviously don't do good work. Use at your own risk. read more
