I know Subaru cars have strange location of oil pan drain plug and many DIYers made the same mistake (not me). But for trained technician, if paying attention it should be avoided. I reckon they immediately recognized the mistake and stopped, and refilled or flushed the transmission. I appreciate their honesty on the mistake and fix it. Upon inspection by James Chrysler dealership service center, it was determined that the oil adaptor had been overtightened, causing it to crack and leak oil. The repair cost is estimated at $1,604.95 plus tax. Attempts to Resolve: I contacted Aurora Oil and Lube to inform them of the issue. Initially, they agreed to inspect the car but later denied responsibility, attributing the problem to wear and tear. Multiple requests for them to inspect the damage at the service center were denied. They suggested taking the car to a different service center in Lisle, IL, which is not feasible as the car is undrivable due to the oil leak. I contacted their corporate office and requested a callback, but my calls have not been returned. Warranty Violation: According to their website, the service center warrants that services and products will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for one month or 1,000 miles, whichever comes first. My car is within this warranty period. Resolution Requested: Reimbursement of the repair cost ($1,604.95 plus tax). Reversal of the oil change charge ($82.51) to my credit card.
